Counter Attack Chapter 96

When he picked up the call from Gang, Chi was patrolling with his patrol car.

'Situation has changed, I can't contact with the keeper in charge of the snakes, they have changed a new batch of keepers, I guess that there is something wrong with the snakes, the military side is trying to solve the problem.'

After hearing such exhilarating news, Chi's car is still traveling at a stable speed and in a straight line, his eyes are scanning along the streets, can't even tell that he's distracted.

'Look closely at them for these two days,' Chi said.

Gang sounds excited, 'It's faster than what I've estimated, we just swapped 20 plus snakes and they have spotted something wrong, I thought we could at least get 50 snakes out, as expected from the military...'

Hearing the constant beeping, Gang pursed his lips annoyingly.

As expected from Chi, can't even wait for me to say something that's so important.

After around half an hour, Wu has also received the same news.

'I can't find the vendor anymore, I went to his place but everything was cleared, I guess this bastard is trying to escape. There must be something going in the camp too, I want to send some more men to look closely at them, Wu, what do you think?'

Wu said, 'Suit yourself! Don't worry about the money, I won't take away a single cent from you!'

Putting down the phone, Wu has the same thought as Gang: everything was going faster than what they have expected.

Isn't it supposed to be like this? Both parties did the same thing, thought of the same thing without any discussion. So as they are swapping the snakes, both sides swapped 20 plus snakes which ended up 50 over snakes are being swapped. The nest of snakes was living happily together, suddenly there came some intruders and they're increasing in numbers, something is brewing in the nest.

The snakes that Chi had kept were all influenced by his temper, who dare to snatch my place? At first, one or two snakes have eaten a few intruders, then slowly it became a massive massacre, all the snakes that have been swapped is being gobbled up.

They have lost huge numbers of snakes in a night, even the keeper think that he's hallucinating.

He knew that he couldn't hide the matter forever, so he decided to report the phenomenon, then he got detained immediately. The vendor, who was staying in a rented apartment at that time, didn't receive any news from the keeper, he knew something was amiss so he quickly kept his things and fled.

Right now, Wu was camping outside of Chi's apartment, it has been happening for a few days now. He saw that Yue Yue going in and out frequently, mostly she's alone, sometimes Chi would accompany her.

Sometimes, Wu's heart and determination are affected by it, might as well let them be together! Yue Yue loves Chi for his family background anyways, Chi was using Yue Yue as a shield, they're willing too. If there wasn't anyone messing around with them, maybe they would've already registered, Chi's snakes are all back into his arms too, how great must it be!

He's happy with snakes anyway, why bother forcing him?

But after contemplating for a while, Wu still wasn't able to leave the place unagitated.

He probably wasn't a samaritan from the start, he probably had this evil self in him since he was born, he probably was just stubborn, just relentless... As long as this matter hasn't come to an end, he hasn't reached his aim, even if he will make himself feel repulsive about himself, he will continue this!

These days, Chi was quiet, too quiet, it's like the quietness before the storm. The two hands controlling the storm clouds, waiting for the suitable chance, putting them together and creating a storm.

Today, gloomy clouds were gathered above his head, someone is doomed for.

Chi skidded down the flight of stairs and out of the building, he got nothing on both of his hands, the warmth of the sun hit on the curves of his face, then reflected towards Wu, it was cold as ice. Wu knows, Chi is going to make his moves, he purposely created an impression that he's going out alone, just to let someone fall into his trap.

Seeing Chi's car disappearing in his sight, Wu's heart was clenched tightly.

Chi was driving aimlessly on the streets, he initially wanted to take a stroll around his neighborhood, it's more convenient to clear the bodies later. His mind was in the right state, subconsciously he drove his car towards the clinic.

In order to break the thin sheet of paper in between them, Chi has ignored Wu for five days.

He is always like that, in order to achieve something, he can get rid of any distractions, slipping into a vacuum bag and distance himself from the outer world. For these 5 days, he didn't find Wu for once, no phone call, no messages. As one said: 'The toughest of every journey is towards the end', it's nearing the end, the nerve that is tightly suspending in Chi's heart has broke at a very improper time.

I really want to see the baldy so badly.

Just drive past the clinic, look into the clinic briefly then leave without stopping or saying anything.

Wu has also predicted that Chi wouldn't travel that far, he is also closely inspecting every movement here, looking out for some suspicious shadows. Suddenly, the phone in his pocket has rung, he took out and looked at the caller ID, it's from Chi.

'I want to see you,' Chi said.

Wu's heart thumped, 'Where are you?'

'In front of the clinic.'

Wu's expression darkened, what is he doing at the clinic? Is he nuts? As he was thinking, Wu spotted two suspicious men going up the flight of stairs which Chi came down from just now, he quietly followed behind them.

'Why aren't you answering?' Chi said.

Wu could only continue acting, 'I'm looking for you too, I'm reaching your house now.'

He looked up and saw the two men are picking the lock of Chi's door.

'Shit, something happened!'

After saying this, Wu stuffed his phone back into his pocket, stealthy walked towards the two men.

Chi couldn't reach Wu after he tried to call back, his brain was as if it exploded, he has lost his sanity. He turned his car around, the tires screeching under the car as it rubbed against the road, speeding all the way back home.

'Liang Zi, the snake's here,' a voice said.

Wu stretched his head to take a peek, he saw there's a snake in the glass terrarium, it looks similar to Jealous, but Wu can tell by the looks of it that it wasn't Jealous. He sighed in relief, Chi did swap Jealous out, if it's that case, his job is easier.

The guy called Liang Zi has a bamboo stick in his hands, it's the best tool to hit snakes, extremely bendable and lightweight. The other guy is called Er Hui, he has a knife in his hand, he was preparing for the time when the snake is exhausted and injured, with a swing of the knife, there goes half of it.

The two initially planned to move the terrarium out to kill the snake, it's more convenient that way. But the terrarium was bolted to the wall so they couldn't move it, plus the material is quite tough, they couldn't break the bolts and move the terrarium. There's no other way than prying the cover open, then wait outside for the snake to come out by itself.

After a while, the snake slithered out.

Hui glance over at Liang, Liang's gaze darkened, he raised the stick and whipped it towards the vital spot of the snake. The aim was off, he didn't knock the snake out but rather agitated it, it was slithering its way towards Liang's ankle. Hui was taken aback, he shouted to Liang to be careful, Liang agilely escaped its fangs and then kept trying to hit it with the stick, the snake was struggling and twisting its body on the ground, its jaws were wide apart and its eyes are gleaming in anger.

Wu thinks that it's the right opportunity, so he dashed out from his hiding spot.

'What do you think you're doing?'

Hui saw that someone came, he became anxious that he slashed his knife towards the snake's vital spot.

Then, something really happened.

This is a wild snake, its vitality, and burst of energy are beyond imagination. Once the snake has cut into two, the head of it will shot out like an arrow, bite on someone and will not easily let go. Jealous is a nonvenomous snake, but this snake is a venomous one, the snake fought back and spilled its venom, Hui's lower body immediately became unconscious.

Liang wanted to run, but he didn't want to abandon Hui, so he decided to fight with Wu.

Wu has no weapon in hand, at least Liang has a bamboo stick in his hand; when it falls on Wu's skin, it's no ordinary pain! But to not let his efforts go to waste, he just swallowed the pain into his stomach. Arm hooking the throat, knees jerking into the abdomen, bones cracking, no one is giving up that easily.

He was hit once again, Wu hissed in pain, suddenly he remembered his legendary Iron Head, his head crashed into Liang's chest which then sent Liang flying then landed beside Hui.

The blade was still in Hui's hand.

The force is quite impactful, Wu's head is still spinning, he didn't have the chance to balance himself, Liang was already dashing towards him with the knife in his hand, the venom blood stained knife was pointing right at the bridge of Wu's nose. Wu grabbed onto Liang's wrist like his life depended on it, he managed to stop the knife from stabbing his eyes.

A second passed followed by another, neither Wu nor Liang budge at all, pea sized sweat trickled down into his blouse.

Suddenly, Liang's eyes became blood shot, the tip of the knife has changed its direction.

A sudden howling rang in Wu's eardrums, Wu peered down and saw Liang was hugging his legs, rolling on the ground. Almost immediately, his tendon in his leg was being cut by the very blade that was pointing to his eyes just now.

One is poisoned, one couldn't walk, no one can escape.

'Who sent you?' Chi asked.

Until this stage, the two was still thinking about the sum of money, no one dared to make a single sound.

Chi walked to Hui, stepped onto his head, 'Either use my money to cure yourselves or take her money along with you into the coffin, your choice.'

Hui's purple lips trembled, but nothing came out from it, Liang couldn't hold it in anymore, he cried out.

'You girlfriend, your girlfriend hates this snake.'

In an instant, Wu's energy was sucked out of his body.

Chi dialed to Gang, told him to get rid of the two people in the house.

Then he walked over to Wu grimly, he took Wu into his arms, caressing the back of his head and chasing the fear away from his mind.

Wu regained consciousness, then he heard a deep voice dropped above him.

'The powder is the bathroom is yours, right?'

His body went cold, his mind was in total blank.
