Counter Attack Chapter 82

Chi didn't go to Yue Yue.

Chi Jia Li (Chi's sister in case some of you forgot) called him halfway through driving: Your sister is back! Come and pick me up at the airport! Chi changed the route to the airport, picking up Jia and the 'yin' 'yang' twins back home.

'Come, let grandpa carry you.'

Yuan squatted down, letting the twins running into his arms, kissing their cheeks on both sides. Yu was pretty jealous and nervous a the sight, she kept urging Yuan.

'Just a few kisses, your mouth is full of germs.'

Jia waved her hand after hearing that, 'Mom, don't be so particular, they're not that weak.'

The black one is called Dou Dou, the other is called Quan Quan. Dou is thirsty, he wants something to quench his thirst.

'Mommy is busy right now, go find your uncle,' Jia pointed to Chi.

Chi poured a glass of water to Dou, 'Drink up, Little black guy.'

'Why don't you call his name?' Jia wasn't pleased to hear that, he calls him that every time.

Chi just wants to pick on Jia, 'You need to be careful, don't let him go out at night, you will lose him!'

'You mother-'

Yu said smilingly, 'Let's go for lunch tomorrow. Chi, call Yue Yue along too, let your sister know her.'

'Yue Yue?' Jia was puzzled, 'Who?'

Yu said grinningly, 'Your brother's girlfriend.'

Jia was impressed, 'Finally? It's been a long time!'

The next day, Chi brought Yue Yue for the lunch. When they met, Yue Yue greeted Chi's parents first, then kindly greeted Jia, 'Sister, I'm Yue Yue.'

Jia smiled stiffly, her makeup was visibly lesser than what Yue Yue has caked on her face. Her hair tied up loosely, a plain maxi dress without any patterns on it, a pair of flats. But every movement of hers, the gracefulness that shone through every smile of hers, isn't easy to fake.

Yue Yue bent down, took out toys from her bag and gave the twins.

'This is from me!'

Dou and Quan accepted the gifts happily, playing them immediately.

Jia suddenly reached out, spoke to the kids with a fluent American English, 'Give me the toys, we're eating soon, you can touch these dirty things now.' (Note: they're in China)

Yue Yue could comprehend the word 'dirty things'.

When they're having the meal, they were chatting and laughing away like a whole family, Jia wasn't particularly participating in their talk, though, she was busy feeding the kids. Yue Yue would randomly chat with Jia, but Jia wouldn't give much response, Yue Yue placed some of the dishes on Dou's and Quan's plates but Jia didn't feed them those.

After the gathering, Jia was lecturing the two old people.

'Mom, Dad, are you guys afraid of that happening again? It has been 6 years since my brother and Shuo, didn't he just walked the wrong path once? Do you need to be so afraid of it? You guys just happy with this kind of woman? Could you please not trample your son's worthiness?'

Yuan's expression wasn't looking very pleasant, 'We're just supporting him to date, we haven't even talked about marriage yet. It's good that he could find a girlfriend, if not he would still be in that snake cave, who wants to be with him?'

'That's right,' Yu said, 'I see that lady is pretty good too, her background is average, but she is quite clever, she got them looks too. There are a lot of ladies from better families, but your brother doesn't like them!'

'It isn't even about the qualities!' Jia was utterly furious, 'It's better if she really is an average and pure child, look at her face, you could see the words 'I'm hitting the lottery!' on her forehead!'

'Don't speak nonsense,' Yu glared at Jia, 'You just met her, how could you know so much?'

Jia simply gave a short and sweet answer.

'Let's see if you don't believe me.'

After the meal, Yue Yue's mind wasn't with her, she felt unhappy, just right at this moment, she received an anonymous message.

'Don't even dream, Chi's parents aren't letting you be their daughter-in-law.'

Who sent this? Yue Yue's heart froze, Jia's face flashed across her mind, and the cold glares she received from just now. But looking at this message, it doesn't seem like it's from Jia.

As she was thinking, another message came.

'Just look at yourself.'

Quickly, the third came, the fourth, fifth... The general message is the same, just telling her to wake up, don't keep dreaming about marrying into a wealthy family.

Her temper burst into flames, she immediately called back.

Wu placed the phone at the side, letting her rant. He was watching an exciting basketball match, eating snacks, that is satisfying!
