Counter Attack Chapter 85

The ever so familiar place, the place used to be Wu's school, but now when he revisits again, everything has changed. Every room was vacant, there's even a waft of weird smell that makes him want to puke, the boxes were piling up at the corner of the room, a colony of mold growing on them. The boss was wearing a singlet, smoking away while squatting under a tree, his wife who looked unkempt was pointing fingers at him and scolding him.

Within 3 months, the company that used to be bustling and successful is now a joke for the industry.

First, his license got revoked because he was involved in illegal transactions, then he got caught bribing the officers, then to raise money to pay off his fines, he could only sell the house that he bought using the money that he had slandered. Those who used to be his good friends abandoned him, business partners took him as a laughing stock, debtors were rolling in like an endless stream, the apprentices that he cheated got revenge on him... The couple lived worse than an animal.

There are not much who dress formally like Wu, walking in smilingly.

'Came to laugh at me too?' he said eerily.

Wu still remained smiling, 'How could you say that? I came here with a gift for you.'

Top quality tea leaves, a rare collection of alcohols, Wu wasn't being stingy for his 'teacher'.

The boss just peered at it for a second and then reverted his gaze away, his tone was cold and hard.

'Take away, I can't keep these expensive gifts.'

'You can definitely take these,' Wu persistently gave him the gifts, radiating warmth from his smile, 'Without you, I wouldn't have earned $500k, I wouldn't even have those top quality snakes. I could successfully earn back my costs and some more profit, it's all because of you. This is my appreciation for your help, you must accept it.'

The boss's face was twitching in anger, looking like he's about to erupt.

'Bastard, be lenient wherever it is possible, you still have a long way to go, hard to say what you would become.'

Wu looked at him calmly, 'Yeah, I'm not even 30 yet, there's a long way to go, can't say what is the outcome. But one thing I'm sure is, your path-has reached its end.'

His expression darkened like charcoal, he raised his fist and was about to land on Wu's face.

Sounding ever so caringly, 'Be careful, don't sprain yourself.'

The boss spat angrily onto the ground, growling, 'You can do whatever you want, I'm not afraid of anything now, you can flatten my entire factory if you dare!'

'You really misunderstood me,' Wu simply said, 'Do you still remember? When I bought those 2000 sick hatchling from you, you said it to my face: "If you do earn a lot of money, don't forget about me." But now I don't consider myself earning a lot of money, but as compared to when I just started, it's much better. I couldn't possibly forget about where I come from, I should return the favor with all I can, so here I am now.'

The boss's face was as cold and hard as a piece of metal.

After saying his piece, Wu stuffed the gifts into his arms, turned and walked away.

At night, Wu was alone in the clinic, he changed into the singlet with holes after taking a shower, a pair of short pants with thread ends sticking out from the hem, reading a Crayon Sinchan on a chair.

Familiar footsteps could be heard from outside.

Wu's eyes widen, he quickly took out the book 'Pride and Prejudice' from the drawer and threw the comic book aside. Then he dashed to his closet, changed into a pair of matching pajamas.

Actually, Chi has been standing by the window for a while and saw everything; Wu's clothing preferences, his childish choice of books, and his sinister smiles.

It's too late for him to trying to salvage any little pride or image that is left.
