Counter Attack Chapter 174

Lian brought Wu back to his home and let him sleep in Shuo's room.

Wu took a hot shower, changed into fresh clean clothes and cuddled up in the warm blanket. Within 2 minutes, Lian observed him for a while and made sure he was really awake before heading out again.

It was midnight, the rain has stopped.

Lian didn't get a single second of sleep, he went out to the living room to get a glass of water, then he saw Wu was sitting on the floor of the living room with his legs crossed, staring out at the window. His black hair was growing out in different directions following a spiral pattern, with his spine straightened, he looked like a tough yet lonely child.

'Aren't you sleeping soundly just now?' Lian asked, 'Why did you get up?'

Wu simply replied, 'The rain stopped, I can't sleep.'

True, just now when there were thunder and lightning outside of the window, Wu was deep in sleep. Now that everything is so quiet, he can't sleep well now. He felt like he had heard the door being opened, then a chain of footsteps coming into the room from the door, but he has waited for so long for someone to open his bedroom door.

So, he decided to sit outside.

Lian naturally knew what Wu was thinking about now, the state he's in right now it's exactly how Shuo's like every day. During their 6 months here, Shuo was walking around the house like a ghost, waiting someday for someone to open the door and say: 'I've finally found you.'

They are both proud yet timid children, but they have different masks on.

'Shuo wouldn't come back today,' Lian told Wu, 'If one decides to spend the night outside, he wouldn't step on a muddy road after the rain has stopped to come back home.'

'I'm not suspecting he's at Chi's,' Wu acted as if he doesn't care, 'I'm just afraid that when he comes back, if he sees me lying on his bed, he would be upset.'

Lian said, 'Don't worry, he isn't anywhere better anyway, he doesn't even bother to wash his feet, I should be asking you if you're fine with that.'

Wu nodded, then returned to Shuo's room quietly.

At this time, Chi was still walking up and down in front of Wu's mom's ward.

Within a month's time, Wu's mom has lost so much weight, even though Chi has arranged her to stay in a normal ward but she actually receives special treatment in secret, he just didn't want her to feel bad.

When Chi rushed to the hospital, she was vomiting non-stop, she also has a high fever, she was already in a coma.

Her condition has turned better just now, the second she woke up she grabbed onto Chi and said, 'Chi! Please don't tell my son about this, what if I passed one day, how miserable you think my son is going to be! If you tell him now, he has to suffer from today till the day I die.'

This same sentence, Wu's mom has told Chi countless times.

She has taken all her saving out, thinking that she is able to make it through till the day she dies, but little did she know that it was hardly enough for one day in the hospital. She didn't want to spend the money that Wu gives her, she kept reminding Chi to buy the cheapest medicines, assign her in the cheapest wards, she needs to save the money for her son's marriage.

Chi didn't tell Wu, not just because to fulfill Wu's mom's wish, but part of it was because of his selfishness. He didn't want Wu to feel miserable, even though he knew how much she wanted to see her son, he didn't want to bring Wu here to see his ill mom.

But today, after seeing Wu's mom, his heart starts to waver.

He put out his cigarette and dialled Wu's number.

Wu soon picked up the call, his voice was coarse, but it doesn't seem like he was just awake, more like he hasn't even slept yet.

After hearing Wu's voice, the feeling of heartache rushes into Chi's chest like waves, washing away the anger he had at the court. Right now all he could think of is, how his Dabao would be like if he has lost his mother.

'Where are you?' Chi's voice was calm and steady as always.

Wu said, 'At home.'

'You're sleeping?'

Wu thought about it.

Chi said, 'Something cropped up outside, I can't make it back, it will be very cold in the middle of the night, take a warmer blanket from the cupboard.'

'I didn't take out the vibrator, it's still inside,' Wu said.

Even though he knew Wu was outright lying, Chi still swallowed everything down and said, 'Good.'

Then, the call has been ended.

Wu lowered the phone and mumbled to himself.

'You obviously saw the sensor died down, you obviously knew the vibrator wasn't with me anymore. You're always so kind to me when you're with him...'

He placed his phone aside and took out the disks out again.

No matter how stuffy he felt inside, with that stubborn nature of his, he has to solve everything.

This time, Wu didn't skip any bit of it but watch and savour every single second of it. To save some time, and to cherish this rare chance he has, he displayed every disk at the same time in nine boxes on the screen.

In the end, there's too much information and images of them, Wu had another kind of feeling watching this.

At first, he thought the scene when Chi and Guo kissed was so shocking, but after seeing so many other scenes of Chi and Shuo together, it felt so minuscule and insignificant.

Once he took out several disks and compared them, he realized that with a screen full of them displaying affection to each other, the kiss was just a small Easter egg and accident.

But watching this at a different time, all of this has just become such an eyesore, who would find balance rewatching these disks over and over again?

After changing a point of view, the viewer's feeling and emotion have gone through a thoroughly different change.

Chi loves Shuo, this is a fact.

Maybe, Shuo understood that fact after 6 years, that's why he tried to salvage it.

Wu then placed the last disk into the player and displayed the clips in it into nine boxes as well, every box was pitch black. In comparison to the happy clips from the previous disk, this looks so sad and pathetic.

If it were Wu, he would feel indignant as well.

The sky outside was starting to get bright as well, Wu placed the disks back to their places, he changed back to his soaked clothes and brushed his teeth in the bathroom as if nothing has happened.

Shuo came back, the first thing he did was run into Lian's room.

One of his favourite thing to do is to scream at Lian when he's sleeping to wake him up.

In the end, Lian woke up super early and he was tinkering with a vibrator.

'What's this?' Shuo asked.

Lian simply replied, 'It dropped out from Wu's butt, but he stepped on it and broke it, I fixed it for him.' Then, he held the vibrator in his palm and gave it a squeeze, it did vibrate.

Shuo then realized what this thing was used for, he was enraged.

'Fucking hell! This thing dropped out of his butt and you dare you to touch it? You're disgusting.'

Lian didn't care, he threw the phone that Shuo crushed back to him.

'This is yours, I fixed it as well.'

Seeing that Lian is returning the vibrator to Wu, Shuo suddenly snatched it over.

'Give it to me, I'll return it to him.'

Then, he went back to his room and did something to the vibrator, by the time Wu came out from the bathroom he was sitting quietly on the bed.

'You came back?' Wu asked, 'It was pouring last night, the clinic was closed and I had nowhere to go so I stayed here for the night.'

Shuo smiled, 'Don't worry, I won't tell Chi.'

Wu smiled embarrassingly, 'Sorry for that.'

'This,' Shuo swayed the vibrator in front of him, 'This is yours right?'

Wu's expression fallen, 'This...why is this with you?'

'My brother wants to return this to you,' Shuo continued smiling.

Wu's face was immediately pink as a peach, what the hell, don't tell me Lian picked this up?

'You're lucky you met my brother, he has a pair of magical hands, he could revive things no matter how broken they are,' he passed to Wu as he was saying.

Wu was utterly shocked, if it wasn't because this product is hard to come by, he really thought Shuo bought a new one, it was how it looked like before it was crushed, not a bit of scratch could be seen on it.

He really helped a lot, if not Wu didn't know how he's going to explain to Chi back home.

'Tell your brother I said thanks,' Wu said.

Shuo teased, 'You can thank him yourself, he's right behind you.'

Wu's expression soured, he didn't even dare to look Lian right in his eyes, he just ran straight out of the door covering his face.

When Chi reached home, Wu was lying on the bed with the vibrator on the nightstand, he clothes he wore last night was hung up as if he was at home all along.

Hearing the footsteps, Wu's eyes cracked open slightly, but soon he closed them again, acting as if he was really tired.

Chi walked to the bed and the first thing he did was to caress Wu's cheeks, it was cold, but Chi didn't say anything. It doesn't matter anyway, even if Wu spent the night outside he wouldn't say anything, Wu hated to sleep alone and Chi was outside all night.

Seeing the vibrator on the nightstand, Chi didn't think much of it, he thought that he just took it out.

He just grabbed and checked it.

Then he suddenly realized there's a red word on the green vibrator.

'Bao.' (means treasure or precious)

But this word, it isn't Wu's handwriting, it's obvious that someone wrote it.

Suddenly no emotion can be detected on Chi's face.

ps. okay i need to say something real quick, the story gets...real sad from now on, if you haven't realized. I almost cried writing this as well haha but hang on there, i almost went crazy today haha. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!! (I finished my finals today yay!!!)
