Counter Attack Chapter 104

Two days before Wu discharges, Shuai specially came to visit him.

Because Shuai has his own things to do, Shuai has been missing in action for the past week, while in this week, god-knows how many billions of brain cells of Wu's has died. He's really missing Shuai, he wanted to see Shuai again, but then he thought of the possible things that Shuai will tell him, he decided otherwise.

'You seems to gain some weight,' Shuai said.

Wu's expression changed, 'Really?'

He quickly took out a mirror and examined his own body, he even squeezed his abdomen, seeing if there are any fats deposited there. Because he went through a memorably horrible weight loss process, Wu is really particularly anal about his weight and body. Shuai broke out into laughter, 'Do you need to be that worried? It's not that obvious, maybe I have some problems with my eyes.'

Shuai didn't put that into his heart, then he asked, 'What are your plans after your discharge?'

Wu's heart dropped again, plans... that means he's telling me to make my stand clear? Shit, this conversation is going too far, he is obviously trying to let me fall into his trap!

Luckily, Shuai then added, 'You have sold the snakes, you have some capital now, you need to start another again, don't you?'

Wu relieved, 'You're saying this!'

'If not what else do you want me to talk about?' Shuai is puzzled.

Wu replied anxiously, 'Nothing, my mind isn't in the right state now.'

Shuai is starting to think that Wu is acting very weirdly.

'I have gotten the license, I've already rented the shop, I've sent the hiring notice out too, now I'm just waiting to start the business,' Wu said.

Shuai was surprised, 'Damn! You're in hospital but your plans are going very well!'

Wu rubbed his head, he laughed humbly, but the words came out from his mouth aren't humble at all. 

'I may be immobile for now, but I'm still concerned about my career.'

Actually, when did he even plan all these? Everything was planned by Chi! More precisely, it was Gang who was running around, busy running errands for Chi. Wu just asked about the progress occasionally, then he would criticize about some minor things, move his facial muscles, as long as someone witnessed that his job is done.

'Where's the office?' Shuai probed.

Wu said, 'Around the business hub.'

Shuai was shocked, 'The rents there are very high!'

'It's nothing, I know someone there.'

Shuai asked skeptically, 'You know someone there?'

Wu cleared his throat awkwardly, gave a muffled respond.

'Who is it?' 

He wanted to avoid the question, but Shuai is really persistent so he can only spill the beans.

'Chi Cheng.'

Shuai gritted his teeth, 'Why don't you just say that he sponsored you?'

'Who said that?' Wu straightened his back, 'I spent money on it.'

The credibility of his words are too low, no wonder Shuai would be suspicious about it.

'How much did you spend then?'

Wu peered out the window, trying to keep his cool, '$500.'

Shuai pressed on, 'For a month or a day?'

Such a huge office, unless you're giving your parents, no one even dared to spend so much money in one day. If it's for a month, you're just joking.

After a moment of silence, Wu spoke.

'Three years.'

Shuai hit on the cabinet and laughed, 'Can you stop making jokes?'

Wu started to think nonsense again, he feels that Shuai isn't just laughing about the thing that he just said, there some hidden message in his laughter. As expected from him, he's so guilty that he is even suspecting himself.

Shuai stopped laughing, it's time to talk about the serious matters.

'So you decided to stay there?'

'Not sure, 'Wu said, 'I still want to stay in the clinic.'

After saying that, he regretted it instantly, Chi is always running errands around that area, Shuai won't think that I'm just trying to stay in contact with him, right?

Actually, Shuai just wanted to know, 'Don't you think it's a bit far to travel back and fro?'

'I bought a car,' Wu said.

Shuai's eyes sparkled, 'What car?'

'Imported Audi.'

'I remember that car sells $600k.'

Wu said, 'I bought a second-handed one.'

'How much in total?' Shuai asked.

'$60k.'

Shuai's eyes are popping out, 'Bro, that car just came out last year! Who did you buy it from? Buy me one too.' Just as he said that Shuai shut up, that question is so unnecessary!

Wu sees that Shuai is keeping silent, his heart clenched, he feels that Shuai is hiding something from him.

Shuai took a glance at Wu, he found out that today Wu's eyeballs are turning faster than ever.

Wu replied alertly, 'What?'

Shuai stared into Wu's eyes and asked, 'What's wrong with you?'

'I wanted to ask you this!' Wu blamed on other people instead, 'You don't things clear, you're beating around the bush, you're doing that intentionally to make me anxious!'

Shuai is even more puzzled, 'How am I beating around the bush?'

Wu couldn't hold it in anymore, he has spilled everything that he has been bottling up.

 'Aren't you trying to hint me that the day is over? Aren't you just trying to make me leave him? Fine! Now I shall make things clear, everything is going to go as planned, don't worry.'

Wu is making Shuai even more confused.

'I say...bro, are you fully awake?'

He lifted Wu's eyelids and examined his eyes, making sure he's not day dreaming or sleep talking.

'You came here just to make me leave him, aren't you?'

Shuai is so speechless that he's just laughing, he doesn't know what else to say anymore.

'You're still thinking to break ties with him?'

Wu is taken aback by this question.

'Don't you mean that?'

'What do I mean?' Shuai is losing his mind soon, 'You've already come to this stage, what are you waiting for? Why haven't you be with him yet?'

Not only this reaction has stunned Wu, it also made him more troubled.

'Why should I?'

Wu has been thinking of this same question for days now, but he couldn't find a convincing answer.

'Why don't you want to be with him?'

Shuai has a totally opposite mindset, he feels that Wu has no reason to not be with Chi.

Wu didn't even give it a second thought, 'Didn't we plan this all along? I only wanted him to break up with Yue Yue; until they have broken up, then I'll retreat. Now I've reached my goal, according to the plan I should...'

'Why do you even care about the plan?' Shuai stopped him from continuing, 'Do anything as long as you're happy with it!'

Wu has a strong stand, 'This isn't about what I like or not, the point is, I like women! I need to date and marry a woman! I ain't going nowhere hanging out with a man!'

Shuai's blood is almost boiling, he hit his brain with his fists, trying to control his emotions.

'Then why did you even do this at first, plus you look like you're enjoying every single second of it? Ask yourself, do you have any feelings for him?'

Wu stunned, 'Put any feelings aside, let's just discuss this thing alone, in the past I played along with him because I have this protection layer in my heart, I knew what I was doing. Now when I'm with him, I don't know what I'm doing, I couldn't find a suitable reason for it!'

Shuai realized, no matter how much Wu has changed, he can't seem to lose his old mindset.

'Do you think that the protective layer of yours is  still there?'

A single sentence has pierced right through Wu's heart.

Shuai added, 'It has already been bashed up by that desire of yours, the captivation, your enjoyment, hasn't it? Everything has already gone into your head, no matter if it's supposed to or not, can you even tell what is wrong and what is right? Touch your heart, see how many impurities are there inside!'

Wu kept a deadly silence, he spoke after a while.

'I admit, my direction is slightly off the rail, but I can't be with him.'

Shuai is on the verge of madness, 'Why? Why can't you just be with him?'

Wu kept quiet for a long while, finally, it erupted.

'When I'm with him, he will always think of fucking me!'

After a minute, Shuai is rolling on the floor laughing hysterically.
