Wu's reaction time is really extraordinary.

The blank expression that Chi saw on the funeral, it wasn't actually because of extreme grief, but rather he couldn't process everything yet. In the end, after he cried it out, Wu then realized that his mother is really gone, no matter how early he went back home, he will never see the figure of his mother cooking in the kitchen.

And Chi's arrival was right on time, right when they've reconciled, the grief finally struck Wu.

It was already the end of the year, even though a lot of people are sending them gifts, there are literally piles of new year's goods all over the house, but to pick up Wu's mood a little Chi has been driving him around to shop.

They went to the supermarket this morning, the two were picking cherries in front of the cart while Gang was pushing the cat.

Wu literally didn't even need to say anything, wherever he set his eyes on, that thing goes flying into the cart.

Chi knew he likes to eat big cherries, he placed a box full of cherry that costs $200 per kilograms into the cart, Wu didn't say anything, but then he realized Chi kept getting more and more, he then pressed Chi's arms down.

'It's too expensive, don't buy too much.'

Sometimes, when Wu takes the initiative to talk to him, Chi would feel much better inside, he doesn't even care how much he spent.

'Do you want to buy some drinks?' Chi asked.

Wu nodded.

These used to be out of limits, he will gain weight if he drinks too much, that is the least of Chi's concern, but sweet drinks will cause the bones to be brittle. When they want to have some "extreme exercises", how will they do that if he has brittle bones?

But now Wu's mood is superior over anything, as long as he likes it, he can drink how much he wants to.

Chi didn't even look at the tag, he just put Wu's favourite drink into the cart.

'Buy a coke,' Wu requested.

If it was in the past, he will definitely get a good scolding.

'Are you serious? You will gain weight if you drink that, how will like you then?'

Chi doesn't tend to say something against his thoughts, he wouldn't act like that boyfriend material, saying no matter how you look I still like you. Chi just spurted out what goes on his mind, I'll despise you if you gain a pound, you can go ahead.

But not now, Wu wants it he can get it, and he got him a big bottle.

Just as he wanted to put it in the cart, Wu stopped him.

'Stop, wait, buy those on sale, buy big one get a small one free.

Right, he wants two bottles.

It's rare for Chi to have such good temper, 'Fine, you can buy whatever you want.'

Wu's expression then got slightly better.

Then the two went to the fruits section, Wu was staring at the mangosteens.

'I don't know if they taste good or not.'

Chi didn't waste any time, he immediately opened one and took out two pulps and stuffed it into Wu's mouth.

The promoter said frantically, 'Hey, we don't allow testing here.'

Chi glanced over at the promoter, she immediately kept her mouth shut.

Chi asked Wu, 'Is it sweet?'

Wu nodded.

Chi lifted his chin, telling Gang to move a box of mangosteen into the cart, when they were paying for that they paid for a pound more, so to keep the promoter's mouth shut.

Chi then brought Wu to the men's section, there's a difference Wu and Shuo, that is the love for skincare. Wu takes skincare as labour, he would do it when he has the energy to do so. The later takes his skincare so seriously, he would follow his skincare routine religiously every day.

Plus, the way Wu treats Chi's skin and his own skin is very different.

He would buy anything cheap for Chi's skin, the cheaper the better. A bottle of Dabao for two years.

He never skimps out for his skin, he wouldn't use anything that isn't a luxury brand, he even looks through the manual before using them. So that as compared to the rough skin he had when breaking bricks with his head two years ago, now his skin is so smooth, you can't even see a single acne scar.

Wu grabbed it and studied it, then he gave Chi to have a look.

Wu's finger was drawing in the air, he was really focused on the calculations.

Chi likes how frugal Wu is,  the more stingy he is, that means the more energy he has. So he didn't interrupt Wu, he just stared at Wu with a smiley face.

In the end, by the time Wu finally finalized his calculations, he suddenly remembered he forgot about something.

'Who's paying?' he asked Chi.

Chi swayed his card in the air.

'Then I'll take all of them.'

What he just did was all for nothing.

Wu's mood has been lightened up a lot, he was happily carrying his shopping bags.

Just as he was leaving, three or four of the promoters from nearby counters gathered together, he heard one of them was excitedly saying, 'These two is definitely a pair, oh my god, this is too cute, I've just taken a few photos of them, you see this photo, the gaze top has when staring at the bottom.'

At first, when Wu left the cosmetic counter his mood was really good, but on the way walking towards the men's clothing section, he passed by clothing section for seniors. There was a piece hanging on display that looked similar to the one he bought for his mother, Wu's mother has always kept it in the closet, she never wore it once before she left.

The promoter saw Wu was standing there, so she went up to greet him.

'Sir, you can come in and check the clothes out, they're on sale right now. It's almost New Year, you can buy some clothes for your mother.'

Wu's expression immediately died down.

How Chi wished he could strangle that promoter to death.

At night, Chi was hugging Wu, he really wanted to do something else.

Wu looked at Chi blankly, 'I don't have the mood for that.'

Chi, of course, wouldn't force Wu to oblige.

Wu then suddenly felt sorry for Chi.

'I will be better,' Wu comforted himself, 'I have confidence, I'll get better in a short time.'

After saying that, he hid under the covers and started missing his mother.

Chi went down the bed, took out the pranking toy that he bought in the mall, he wanted to use that to try to make Wu a little happier.

Shuai thought for a while, 'He loves music, aren't you good at singing? Sing a few songs for him then.'

Chi didn't say anything.

Shuai thought, 'I've heard him humming to a song recently.'

Then, Chi went back and learnt the song, because he hasn't sung for so long, he now needed to listen to the song for quite some time to finally get the rhythm of it.

This was the first time he ever did something like this, after living for so long, it was his first time learning a song to make someone happy.

When hot guys get gentle you know it's the killer, especially with a good voice, it literally softened Wu's heart.

"With your hair tied up in a bun, wrapping around all of my love, with a veil in between, none of the words are lies...

Wu felt as if thousands of roses appeared right in front of him, he felt like the first time he found love.

Wu was really into the song, then, his eyes got dead.

The story "my mom" told me, the story "my mom" told me, the story...this line was repeating endlessly in his head.

Chi found nothing wrong when practising, shit got real when he finally sang it out.

Chi suddenly chocked.

The roses in front of Wu's eyes have become hail, raining down on him like a blizzard.

Then, he again crawled into bed and silently wiped away his tears.

Chi gritted his teeth, these lyrics are literally bullshit! Why must it be from the mother? Can't it be the grandfather? Can't it be the uncle?
