Counter Attack Chapter 79

It was the peak spawning season for the snakes now, Wu was busy whole day round. In the past, his apprentice alone was enough to look after the snakes, Wu just went out to meet some clients, but now they need to have duty slots to take care of the snakes. They have to be midwives to help snakes that have difficulties in labor, they also need to take away the eggs the second after they have popped out, in case the mothers eat them up if they're hungry. Besides this, Wu also need to worry about their food, cleaning, moving them around...

Wu didn't even have the time to sit down and drink some water, don't even say about contacting Chi. He would check his phone before going to bed at night, he realized that for these past few days of not contacting him, Chi didn't call him either. As if since the day of them spilling guts out, Chi has evaporated into thin air.

Because he has more things occupied in his mind, Wu didn't dwell on thinking about what was the reason.

At night, he dragged his sore and tired body back to the clinic and saw Shuai was dozing off at his desk.

'It's so late now, why you're still here?'

'I haven't seen you in days,' Shuai said.

Wu had always left early in the morning and come back late at night for the past few weeks, he would be gone for the whole day, Shuai didn't even catch a glimpse of his shadows during this period of time.

Wu gulped down a cup of water, then said, 'I will end my work in a few days, I predict that I could sell the clutch of eggs for over $300k, I'll treat you a meal when I got the money.'

'What? Damn you earn a lot!' Shuai laughed, 'I'll just follow you, breed some snakes.'

'Please don't, it's not as easy as it seems, I am just lucky,' Shuai has this sparkle in his eyes, 'I wanted to keep this a hobby of mine, I'll hand over this business to my apprentice, I need to find some other jobs. I couldn't possibly do this kind job for the rest of my life!'

'That's true,' Shuai agreed, 'You may earn a lot but it's not really a presentable job.'

Wu walked into the bathroom with a towel hanging on his shoulder, soon the sound of water splashing could be heard.

He was used to living alone, Wu doesn't usually take his clothes in with him to change, he would go to bed naked. When he was showering today he remembered that Shuai was here, he knew he couldn't go out butt naked, so he came out with a towel covering the lower part of his body.

Shuai looked at him, a lean and tall figure, waist covered in muscles, his perky ass... He's damn on point! Last time he saw Wu's bare chest was during spring, then he kept covering it after that, now he showed it again today. Damn! Why did he suddenly become so hot?

'I feel you became fitter than ever,' Shuai praised.

Wu was busy shaving his beard, 'Really? Maybe because I trained some time ago.'

He then even looked at himself in the mirror narcissistically.

Shuai suddenly felt like even that action of Wu became sexier, so he decided that he's staying for the night.

The two squeezed on the single sized bed, Shuai asked, 'So how are you two?'

'I'm busy these few days, I didn't even bother him.'

Shuai was perplexed, 'He didn't contact you too?'

Wu felt the same way, 'Yeah, ever since I came back from his place, he didn't call me.'

'So when you went to his place last time, what did you guys do?'

Wu tried to avoid the extreme scenes at the end, he's afraid that he might get a boner in front of Shuai. He focused on recalling the previous scenarios, then told Shuai, 'That night we confessed a lot of our feelings and emotions, mostly about his sad stories.'

'How is that possible?' Shuai was full of suspicion, 'Someone so tough like him, suddenly he showed you a face that he had never shown anyone before, then he remembered and felt embarrassed about it so he didn't find you?'

'No way?' Wu sneered, 'Is he like that?'

Shuai lifted his chin, 'Just call him if you don't believe me.'

Wu called Chi with full of doubts.

He picked up within a second, can tell that the person is losing his patience on waiting for his call.

'What are you doing?' Wu asked.

Chi sounded very bored, 'Having dinner with my friends.' 

'This late?' Wu sounded surprised.

Chi was mildly annoyed, 'Do you have something to say? If not I'm hanging up.'

His friend sitting next to him was teasing him, 'Chi you finally learned some manners? Don't you always hang up first? You actually asked this time.'

He spoke too loud, Wu could hear him even, he's toenails is falling off soon because someone was stepping on his foot.

'Yes!' Wu cleared his throat, 'That night at your place, didn't you talk a lot about your past? Then I came back and thought about it for a while, I think...'

He hung up.

Wu laughed evilly, tapping on Shuai's shoulder, 'It's really the case!'

'Like I said, he must be embarrassed.'

Wu grinned, 'He's so fun.'

After putting down his phone, Chi has totally lost his appetite, he just left the table.

His friend sitting opposite him said, 'What's wrong with him?'

Gang said, 'Nothing! He's been like this for a few days. When I'm walking with him, I always keep 3 metres distance from him. He's really in a bad mood! You would pee your pants if you did see him.'

'Alright, don't care about him then, let's eat.'

Shuai hit Wu's chest, and asked, 'What's your plan now?'

Wu was stoning, he suddenly became so worked up after being hit by Shuai, he immediately glared back, 'Let me tell you, don't hit me here, I'm really sensitive in this area.'

'What? I thought you're invincible? Now you know what is pain now?' 

'Don't fool around,' Wu's face is burning hot, then he suddenly sat on top of Shuai, scowling at him with his bloodshot eyes, 'I'm not joking with you.'

Seeing each other's handsome faces, they were kind of lost for a second there, then they avoided each other's gaze and changed the topic.

'I'm ready for a long haul,' Wu said, 'Chi wouldn't break up with Yue Yue for the time being.'

Shuai was shocked, 'Why? He has some feelings for her?'

'No,' Wu said affirmingly.

'Then why?'

Wu slowly added, 'Chi's father has locked up the snakes that he used to have; if he wants to protect the snakes' lives he needs to follow his father's orders. He is trying to locate the snakes, once he does found them, he will break up with Yue Yue. The problem now is, he can't find them,  if they continue to be like this, Chi only can use Yue Yue as a trading chip, to persuade his father in exchange for his snakes.'

'His father took away his snakes, isn't it because that he didn't have a job? How is this related to having a girlfriend? Does Yue Yue have the ability to do so? Can she persuade his father to let them go?'

Wu looked cautious, 'You're wrong then. The main concern of his father isn't the job, he can always find a job if he wants, isn't it? It was because Chi was fooling around with men, that's why his father dragged him back home.' 

Shuai was surprised, 'Really? Then this matter is a little out of hand. If it is possible, Chi would give up the snakes to be with you?'

'No,' Wu was realistic, 'Snakes take up a huge chunk of space in his heart, just because I kept messing with him, it wouldn't make any difference.'

'Then it would be difficult,' Shuai sighed.

A hint of evilness flashed across Wu's eyes, 'Only with force.'

'Force?'

Wu stared at Shuai, 'Do you know what Yue Yue fear the most?'

Shuai shook his head.

Wu slowly revealed, 'Snakes.'

Shuai gasped, 'This wrench has an ambitious heart! To hook on with rich men, she actually allowed herself to spend time with snakes. She could torture herself like this, what couldn't she do?'

'So I was saying, just to let Chi live a peaceful life, I need to remove her.'

Shuai coughed, 'Your direction is a bit off, be careful.'

Wu was appalled himself too, then he acted as if nothing happened, continued talking.

'I guess Yue Yue especially hate Jealous, she must've thought of getting rid of Jealous, we need to take action on this, lead Yue Yue to cause harm on Jealous...'

'Then you come out as a hero?' Shuai continued his speech.

Wu smiled sinisterly, 'That's a must, how could I let her harm our Er Bao?'

'The problem is, how are you going to let her harm it?' Shuai asked.

Wu's expression changed, there's a subtle hint of sourness in his words.

'Increase the chances of them being together, try to let Chi's parents like her, this all is the prologue of a war.'

Shuai probed,'So you're saying, you're backing up?'

'One step back today for two steps forward tomorrow.'
