Counter Attack Chapter 157

After looking around the snakes, Guo invited Shuo to his garden to have a cup of tea.

The two sat facing each other, Shuo scanned Guo from head to toe then suddenly a laughter broke through his face, not sure what he saw.

'What are you laughing?' Guo asked.

Shuo asked, 'Why do you seem like you're getting more retarded as you age?'

'What do you mean I got more retarded?' Guo was puzzled, 'I didn't shrink, did I? I was 1.78m that year you left, now I'm 1.82m, I did grow a tad bit.'

'I'm not saying about your height, I'm saying about how you look.'

'My looks?'

Shuo nodded, 'I still remember clearly that when we're still studying, you used to be the oldest looking out of us three. We two used to tease you for that, saying how you looked like a 20 plus adult when you're just 18 years old. Now we're almost reaching 30, you still look like you're in your 20s, don't you think you're retarding?'

'Oh,' Guo came to a realization, 'That's because you age too fast.'

Shuo rubbed his face in annoyment, then sighed, 'I can't help it, I've been through a lot when I'm overseas these years.'

'There's no one that is as shameless as you,' Guo smirked, 'You're the most carefree, serves you right that you're aging faster out there.'

Shuo simply smiled without thinking much,  he placed his legs on the veranda and his back against the pole, it seems like he doesn't have a single bone inside him. He doesn't sit like a human, more like a snake.

'I realize that after all those years you've been gone, you haven't changed a single bit,' Guo said.

Shuo squinted his eyes and simply said, 'I've been back for half a year now.'

This came as a shock to Guo.

'So, you came back during New Year?'

Shuo responded with an hmm.

It initially was a lie that Shuai made up for Chi to take down Wu, but now it has become a truth, Guo couldn't help but sighed, 'You're really good at hiding.'

'What hide?' Shuo said, 'I have a home in Beijing as well, why can't I come back to stay in my house?'

Guo smirked, 'But I guessed you would've come back earlier too.'

Shuo peered over at Guo, 'How did you guess it?'

Guo lit a cigarette and simply said with smoking it, 'The horse that you've tied down for 6 years has been unleashed by someone, if you didn't come back soon the horse will be taken by the person, you can't even get it back then.'

'Stop!' Shuo raised up his hand, 'If I really wanted to get him back, I would've done it 6 months ago, I wouldn't wait till now. Besides, getting him back is the matter of snatching the rope back, but even if I do, I don't think the horse wants to follow me as well.'

'Don't you like risk-taking games?'

Shuo said, 'I'm going back in the next two days.'

Guio squinted, 'You're not even going to see Chi?'

'It doesn't matter anyway.'

Guo put out his cigarette and said, 'You won't go.'

Shuo replied as lazily as ever, 'How do you know that?'

'I just know.'

After a while, a smile surfaced on Shuo's face.

'Guo, I really hate that smarty pants side of you, it's really annoying.'

After the two chatted for a long while, Shuo got up and was about to leave.

Along the way out, a black snake caught Shuo's eyes.

'This snake is not bad, give it to me.'

'Aren't you going back in a few days?' Guo reminded, 'Plus this snake has venom, even if you brought it back with you, you can leave the country with him too, just put it with me here.'

Shuo thought about it and said, 'That's true.'

Just right Shuai was here to see Guo, he spotted Shuo and Guo walking in a distance away.

'My man,' Guo pointed at Shuai and said.

Shuo looked at Shuai, then gave Guo a heavy pat on his shoulder.

'You have some great blessings, this child has such pure eyes.'

'Child?' Guo chortled, 'He's older than you by a year.'

Shuo was impressed, 'You two look good together, it's like a child playing house.'

'Do I need to introduce you two?' Guo asked.

Shuo said, 'Please don't, I'm afraid that I might fall for him.'

After saying that,  he quickly walked away from Guo and past Shuai.

After Shuo has left, Shuai even looked back at him, then asked Guo, 'Another park visitor?'

'What park visitor?' Guo replied, 'That's my old friend.'

Shuai gave an honest first impression, 'He looks like a waiter.'

'Yeah,' Guo smirked, 'He served Chi for 3 years.'

Shuai went blank but quickly reverted back, he looked shocked.

'Wang Shuo?'

Guo pinched lightly on Shuai's cheeks, 'Clever boy.'

Shuai looked alert as if he treated Shuo as his enemy.

Guo felt sweet inside, he purposely asked, 'What's wrong? You feel you're in danger?'

Shuai snickered, 'That's your enemy, I'm worried for you.'

Guo didn't get it at first, then he thought about it, then realize what Shuai really meant. He's still struggling in that endless pit!

Just as he was thinking about it, a keeper came up to him.

'Mr. Guo, it's bad, the Black Scorpion is going crazy, it's trying to slither out of the park, I can't do anything to stop it. By the time I wanted to grab it with gloves, it was already gone.'

Black Scorpion is the snake that Shuo wanted, Guo doesn't even nee dot guess, Shuo was the one who made it went crazy. There's no snake that doesn't follow Shuo after they caught his eyes.

'Fine, you can go back now.'

The keeper was obviously distraught, 'Mr. Guo, will it bite random people out there? That snake is really venomous, should we go look for it outside?'

'There's no need for that,' Guo said firmly, 'It won't go anywhere, you can resume your work.'

In the afternoon, Wu was busy filling up forms when his secretary came knocking on his door.

'Mr. Wu, Dr. Shuai is here to visit.'

Wu said, 'Let him in.'

After a while, Shuai came into his sight.

Wu stretched his body out and sat on the sofa, then he motioned Shuai to come over.

Shuai's gaze was really dark and gloomy as if he was being possessed.

Wu realized something amiss of Shuai, he squeezed Shuai's shoulder and asked, 'What's wrong?'

'I met someone in Guo's park today,' Shuai said.

Wu simply asked without much thinking, 'Who is it?'

'You have to prepare yourself,' Shuai said carefully.

Wu was puzzled, 'Who is it exactly?'

'Chi's ex-lover. Mr. Wang.'

Wu took a chilled watermelon and took a bite out of it and told Shuai, 'It helps to quench your thirst, have a bite.'

He was about to cut a piece of the watermelon for Shuai.

Shuai pressed his hands down and said, 'I'm not joking.'

'I know!' Wu said inattentively, 'So what, what's that have to do with us? Are you telling me you're not going to eat just because you don't know a person?'

Shuai felt better seeing how calm Wu is, it looks like his worry is unnecessary, his disciple is much stronger than he thought.

After finishing two huge slices of watermelon, Wu asked Shuai, 'How's the Maldives?'

'There's nothing much I can do there, it's just beautiful scenery and it's a great place for resting and vacation. There's no huge water park or something, normally people sun basking, read, sleep... Oh right, you can go diving and fishing also.'

Wu was dumbfounded, 'I want to go to!'

'Tell Chi to bring you there, don't they have a lot of free time as public servants?' Shuai said.

Wu sighed, 'But I don't have much.'

'You can find someone to take over your position, your company is so huge yet it can't operate without you?'

'It can still operate, but I'm afraid that it will have some huge problems.'

Shuai was feeling anxious for Wu, 'You have no worries over clothes and food, why are you working so hard?'

'I need to work hard for the sake of my son!' Wu's eyes were glistening, 'I have to let my son live in a rich family, look at how good Chi is living! I need to let my son live like him.'

Shuai snickered, 'Where do you get a son from?'

'My wife can carry one for me!'

'It's happening again.'

At night, Chi and Wu had minced meat noodles for dinner, the noodles were from Wu's mom, the sauce was made by Yu. Chi cooks the noodles while Wu juveniles the cucumber.

Every time Chi would mix up the noodles for Wu, he looks really caring, actually, he just doesn't want Wu to add chilli paste in it. Wu will get heaty easily after eating spicy food, he will have constipation plus ulcers, then he can't use both his mouth and his butt, what will Chi live by?

'Put some chilli paste in my bowl,' as expectedly, Wu requested for it.

Chi ignored him, he mixed his noodles well then hand the bowl over to him.

Wu didn't lift a single finger, he was just staring at Chi who just added a spoonful of chilli paste into his bowl.

'Are you trying to let me feed you?' Chi said firmly.

Wu still refused to eat.

Chi just started eating on his own, he has already finished a whole bowl of noodles, Wu's bowl of noodles was already cold.

'My mom would add a lot of mat into the sauce, you will be in a loss if you don't eat that,' Chi's tone was a little gentle.

Wu was stubborn, 'The noodles ain't that nice without chilli paste.'

Another bowl of noodles have gone down the stomach, Chi looked over opposite him, the noodles were already gone lumpy.

Then he commanded, 'Bring the bowl over.'

Wu happily pushed his bowl forward.

 Chi warned, 'You can just add a little bit.'

Wu nodded.

Normally Wu could finish three bowlfuls of noodles but he only ate two and a half, he just left the other half there.

Chi asked, 'You have a problem?'

'Shuai and Guo just came back from the Maldives.'

Chi simply replied, 'I asked you if you wanted to go travelling at that time, you refused yourself.'

'I'm not free,' Wu said.

Chi put down his chopsticks and looked at Wu, 'Why not this, let's wait till vacation, I'll bring you to Hawaii to surf.'

Wu's eyes brightened, 'Really?'

'Why do I have to lie to you?'

Wu was really happy, he finished the remaining half a bowl of noodles quickly.
