Counter Attack Chapter 180

Wu's mother has discharged, Wu returned to the company and he would spend time with his mother after work.

Once Shuai heard that Wu has returned to work, he quickly scurried over to the company.

'How's your mother?'

Wu smiled and said, 'Fine, her disease is currently under control.'

'Last time when I paid your mom visit in the hospital, I felt that she was better than the time when she just got admitted, there isn't any good to stay in the hospital when you have such disease. In hospitals, you will fall sick even you're fine and dandy, nothing works better than a good mood, you should spend more time when you're free.'

Wu nodded, 'I spend the night every day at home, my mom is acting like a small child now, she wouldn't sleep unless I tucked her in.'

'A child huh.'

Shuai sat down on the couch for a while.

Wu arranged everything neatly in the office, even though there are people who clean his room every day, it is still his bedroom at the end of the day so he feels better when he contributed to part of the cleaning.

Just as he was rummaging through his drawers, he suddenly spotted the stack of disks again.

He took it out and stared at it, then told Shuai, 'I still feel there's something wrong with these disks.'

'What's wrong?' Shuai asked, 'Haven't you repeated them for a lot of times already? You almost memorized the breathing of the two already, right?'

'I still feel something is missing,' Wu said.

Shuai sighed, 'It's because you keep thinking about getting the clip of that day when Guo and Shuo did it, but it's not here, so you think something is missing, but in reality, you've been  watching it repeatedly for countless of times.'

'You say, did I miss any of the footages?'

Shuai gritted his teeth, 'Why are you asking me? I have never seen any of the footages.'

Wu grumbled, 'But I did copy everything.'

'Enough, stop thinking about such things,' Shuai pressed Wu's hands down, 'I'll tell you something better.'

'What?' Wu asked.

Shuai sat down and cleared his throat, as if he has something serious to say, 'Guo went to pay Shuo a visit that day, they two discussed the incident at great lengths, Shuo has already kind of admitted that Guo was the reason that he betrayed Chi, but whether or not they two did it, Shuo did not give him a clear answer.'

'Isn't this just bullshit!' Wu thought about it for a while, then asked, 'What about Guo? He's the other person that was involved in this! Does he not know if he has slept with Shuo or not?'

'He was drunk that night, he was wasted I should say, by the time he woke up everything has been done,' Shuai said, 'He denied everything though, who knows if he's spouting the truth?'

Wu went quiet again.

Shuai added, 'You say what is Shuo thinking? If he's really innocent, why doesn't he clear things up? If Chi heard his explanation, maybe there will be some positive feelings left.'

'He said he did not do it, Guo said he didn't do it either, but the problem is, does Chi believe in them?' Wu said, 'What's the difference between this and the vibrator incident then?'

Shuai was perplexed, 'What do these two things have to do with each other?'

'Of course, it does,' Wu said, 'You think, I knew that the word on the vibrator was written by Shuai, but why didn't I tell Chi? The incident happened to me, I'm the defendant in this case, what is the law for if I can defend myself? The same thinking, Guo is the culprit, do his words have an effect?'

Shuai was enlightened, 'Right, plus he was involved in every incident, he can't escape it no matter how much he explains, that's just wasting his energy and time, maybe it will worsen the situation.'

'So!' Wu clenched his jaws, 'This bastard just wants to use me to find out the truth, make me spill the truth from my mouth. As the opposing party, my words are rather effective.'

Shuai's eyes bulged, 'So you're still helping him? Aren't you smashing a rock onto your foot?'

'Where are you finding truth?' Shuai said, 'The hotel where they did it has already been demolished, the boss is nowhere to be found as well, even if he didn't run away, how will he know what happened in a room from 7 years ago?'

'Shuo must have the evidence,' Wu's gaze affixed.

Shuai objected, 'He would've taken it out already if he had them, just because he didn't have any evidence, that's why he wants to use you. This is a mental war, as time goes by if you couldn't find any evidence you will definitely go crazy. Trust me, I'm a doctor, I experienced this as well. Hurry and let go of this matter, just do what you should do, otherwise, you will be in great loss.'

Wu was stubborn as always, 'He must have the evidence, it's just not the right time, he will take it out himself when the time is right.'

'If you really did wait till that point of time, you have been played,' Shuai said.

Wu's eyes gleamed, 'You wouldn't know until the very end.'

Shuai wanted to say something but then he remembered something.

'Oh yeah, Chi went to Shuo's place, did you know about this?'

Wu's gaze died down, 'Will he tell me this?'

'I supposed it was for the vibrator incident, Chi went to seek for revenge for you,' Shuai said.

Wu asked, 'Then what? Did he do anything to Shuo?'

Shuai cleared his throat, 'It seems...no.'

Wu ferociously stamped on the document, leaving a bold red mark.

'I knew it!'

After saying that, he tossed the stamp aside, took the document and headed downstairs, gave it to Lin. Then he rushed into a washroom and splashed his face with some cold water, he then walked out after he calmed a little.

'Mr. Wu, someone's looking for you outside.'

Wu walked to the entrance and spotted Lian's car, his heart started to beat in an irregular pace.

'Are you seeing it?' he whispered to Shuai, 'That's my idol.'

Shuai's eyes almost popped out, 'Who even dare to mess with a guy like him?'

Wu walked over and greeted Lian, there was another person in his car, Wu first thought it was Shuo but an elderly in his 60s or 70s walked out, he walked straight to Wu and gave him a warm hug.

After settling in Wu's office, Lian told Wu, 'This is my friend from overseas, he's an expert in lymphatic tumours, I heard about your mom's situation, so I invited him over to have a look.'

Wu was rather touched, he stood up and shook the man's hand.

'I'm so sorry to bother you, making you make a trip down here...'

Shuai nudged Wu and said, 'Say it in English, he can't understand what you're talking.'

Wu forced out a word or two, and that was it.

Lian thanked the expert on behalf of Wu.

Shuai was also a doctor himself, so expectedly he would be curious about this man before them, so he asked the expert's name with his broken English.

The expert replied him politely as well.

Lian told Wu, 'He just landed, I need to bring him back to have some rest, you're not in a hurry are you?'

'No no,' Wu hurriedly wave his hands.

Lian didn't say much and walked to expert back to his car.

Wu stood by his car and stared at Lian for a while.

'Why are you helping me?'

'Just because,' Lian said.

Wu's tear started flowing out.

Lian patted on Wu's head a few times.

'Why is your name Wu Suo Wei?'

Hey! Why do you keep asking this?

Shuai typed in the expert's name into the browser, immediately he was taken aback.

'DaWei, take a look at this, isn't this the doctor from just now?'

Wu took a look and said, 'I think so, I think that every foreigner has the same face.'

Shuai couldn't help but be impressed, 'This is surreal, this is the world renown brain tumour specialist! He's always flying around the globe all year round, he's a guest lecturer for really prestigious universities and institutions!'

'So famous!' Wu was a little shocked as well.

Shuai pointed at the monitor, 'Look, the last time he came to China for a talk and he was invited by the minister himself!'

Wu was thrown off a bit.

'How did your idol do this?' Shuai asked.

Wu analyzed, 'Wasn't he a bodyguard for some minister? Everyone came contact with him are of upper class, I guess he made contacts using that relationship.'

'You have such a good life,' Shuai patted on Wu's shoulder, 'Even your nemesis's brother is standing by your side, the bricks that you crushed are really worth it, you should really thank Yue Yue, without her you wouldn't have all of these.'

Wu was kinda happy inside, but he didn't show it on the outside.

'But there's one thing that's bothering me, you say why is my idol always asking about my name all the time?'

'Ask about what?'

Wu said, 'He kept asking why am I called Wu Suo Wei.'

Shuai chortled, 'He must be fooling around! He's interested in you, he finds you're an interesting person, so he tries to start a conversation with you.'

Wu pouted, 'Are you sure?'

'Or is it supposed to be some kind of code?' Shuai smiled, 'If so he's really invested in his job, everything he said was encrypted.'

Wu didn't say anything.

Shuai teased him, 'Why are you called Wu Suo Wei?'

'Go away,' Wu jokingly punched Shuai.

Then, he laid his head on his desk, he actually started to think about this stupid question.

Why am I called Wu Suo Wei? Why did I change my name? Because that time I was called Wu Qi Wan, got mocked by my ex, so I decided to counterattack, and I decided to change into this...

As he was thinking about it, Wu's expression gradually changed.

Shuai also realized something at that point of time.

Their eyes met and two of them were in total horror.

'Does this mean he knows why you changed your name?' Shuai said out what Wu was thinking.

Although Wu was thinking about it as well, after hearing Shuai had said the same thing as he was thinking about, that's what made him shudder.

'So that means, he knew about me and Yue Yue?'

Shuai then added, 'Then that means Shuo definitely know as well.'

Then Wu thought about it, Shuo stayed here for half a year...

Half a year! What can't he find? Ever since the first time he saw Shuo, Shuo asked him the exact question as well, that also proves that Shuo was ready ever since the beginning.

'Was it really a code?' Shuai was puzzled, 'Since Shuo knew it, why didn't he tell?' Wu was shaken.

'The timing must not be right then.'
