Counter Attack Chapter 135

The dinner is nearing its end, the leaders exchanged a few mandatory boot-licking greetings, then they left with their secretaries' accompaniment.

Yuan (Chi's father, in case yall forgot) and Guo's father didn't drink less too, once they touched on their childhood memories, it's a never-ending storytime.

 In the end, the ones left in the room are Chi and Guo with their fathers, Guo's father suddenly patted on Chi's shoulder and said, 'Son, bring your godfather for a tour around your snake farm!'

For as long as he can remember, Chi has been calling Guo's father his godfather.

Yuan absolutely detest the word 'snake', if it wasn't because of the alcohol and not wanting to let his old friend down, he would rather die than to see the nest of snakes.

After stepping into the snake farm, Guo's father has shown great interest in the snakes, he kept asking more and more about the snakes. Although Guo keeps snakes too, he rarely asked Guo about them, probably because Guo doesn't see rearing snakes as the core of his life so his father doesn't particularly hate or love snakes.

After seeing so many snakes, he then realized snakes are really beautiful creatures.

'Why don't you gift me one? I'll bring back home for a few days, I will return you if I really can't handle it.'

Even though he knew Guo's father was joking, Yuan's expression turned sour, after arguing with his son for several years, he knew Chi's temper so well. Selling snakes are not possible, he would much rather sell his own father, but who touches his snakes will have their heads rolling on the ground.

So, Yuan kept giving hinting gazes to Chi, he wasn't trying to force Chi into gifting his snakes, but rather to tell him to be nice when rejecting the offer.

 Guo is also trying to be a nice guy today, he tugged on his father's shirt, 'He has been keeping them for years, how can he gift you one so easily? I can give you one if you want!'

Unfortunately, Guo's father said, 'I don't like your snakes, I prefer my godson's snakes!'

The atmosphere immediately froze.

Chi suddenly said, 'Other than the snake on my shoulders, you can choose any other snakes here, take any one of them you like.'

After hearing this, Guo's expression immediately changed, you can even imagine how shocked Yuan is already.

Chi doesn't sound like he's joking either, he even carried a ball python that he has kept for 4 years to Guo's father. 

'What do you think of this snake?'

Guo's father shook his head.

Chi then chose a few, they're more vibrant in colour and tamed in personality, and they're also under Chi's care for a few years. Seeing Chi choosing the snakes with an ironed face, Guo has an indescribable feeling deep inside.

In the end, after shaking his head for numerous times, he then averted his gaze onto the one sitting on Chi's shoulders.

'Hey, I'm just interested in that one on your shoulders.'

After saying this, the whole room suddenly went dead silent.

Guo's father seems oblivious to the atmosphere in the room, he still caressed Jealous, Jealous' stance quickly showed annoyment, its gaze also became more alert and sharp.

Just when everyone's heart is hanging by a thin thread, Guo's father burst out of laughter out of the blue.

 'I'm just joking, how could I make my godson sad?'

Yuan sighed in relief.

Guo's father then added, 'I took a tour around your farm, it seems like Guo has most of the species you have too, did you two buy them in pairs?'

Guo's gaze darkened, two piercing glare averted onto Guo, the later has no expression on his face.

After the tour, the two elders went downstairs to have a cup of tea, Chi and Guo have no interest in their old stories, so they went out for a breather.

Guo noticed there is a huge tent set up behind the building, then asked, 'Who bought that land?'

Chi simply replied, 'No one, I set them up myself.'

'What are you growing in there?'

'Leeks.'

Guo isn't weirded out by Chi's gardening since he lived on the outskirts like those veterans before, what kind of gardening jobs hasn't he done before? Guo thought it was quite a normal thing for Chi. But Guo doesn't understand why leek, out of all vegetables?

'I thought you don't eat leeks?' Guo asked.

 Chi answered, 'I do now.'

Guo squinted his eyes and studied Chi for a while, it's the same person, the same gaze, his aura hasn't declined a single bit, but he's just different from before.

'You've really changed.'

After saying this, Guo went into his car and left.

Gang was still sitting in the car,  staring at that post, he opened it once again. It was fine that he took another look, but then he realized Chi actually reposted it.

Fuck, that means he knew it also?

Gang froze for a while, then he calmed himself down, there shouldn't be any problems... As he was contemplating, Chi's chilly figure came into sight, looking at the situation right now, honestly, it isn't pleasant.

Chi sat in the driver's seat, not saying anything, he didn't ignite the car's engine either, he kept twirling and playing with the wooden balls in his hand, not sure what he's thinking about.

Gang cleared his throat, 'You knew about it already?'

Chi knows what Gang meant, but he still ignores him.

Gang advised Chi, 'Aren't you trying to find a chance to abuse him? This is the right time! You think, he went to find someone else once he was freed, he dug his grave himself without our help, that's a good thing!'

Chi looked at Gang's overly excited expression over his "precious'" possible punishment, he finally spoke.

'You planned on this?'

Gang was taken aback, 'What?'

The steering wheel almost broke apart under Chi's tremendous weight, his interrogation made Gang trembled in fear.

'You purposely set them up right? You're the one who sent the woman to that flight isn't it?'

Oh, Lord Jesus! Gang was crying out for his innocence, I just reposted a post, how did it become my doing?

Chi pressed, 'How is this a coincidence? He did just the wrong thing you hope he did, it's the same as your plan last time! Fine, you did great! Do you still remember what I said? Once your goal is reached, you'll be first to receive my treatment.'

Gang's eyeballs are about to drop out of their sockets, he usually was calm but he can't keep his cool any longer, he cried out in the car, 'It was my doing, you can check on it if you don't believe me, I'm not the first one to repost that, you can't accuse me just to protect your loved one! ...Agh!....'

Gang really shouldn't be the one who gets beaten up.

Chi knew very well that it's Wu who started this, there's nothing to do with Gang, but he's angry, why is that so?

Isn't it obvious! He didn't like what Gang had said just now.

What's 'good' about it? It's good that he gets beaten up? Where did my 'baby' do you wrong? No matter how disobedient he is, how bad he is, everything is my business, I can do whatever I like, why are you happy that he gets beaten up? Plus, which is worse: my addiction or him getting around with other girls? I would much rather chop off my hand than letting him flirt with someone else!

Of course, there's another reason, Chi vented out half of his anger on Gang, then by the time he deals with Wu he won't put in all of his strength, speaking honestly he just doesn't bear to do it.

Chi booked a luxurious suite for Wu, he can enjoy the sea breeze on the balcony, it feels really divine. However, enjoying it alone seems a little too lonely and bland.

He went through a roller coaster of emotions during the day, now he has calmed down at night, he then realized Chi hasn't called him. 

Ever since Chi gave him his friend's number, it feels like Chi has thrown him aside.

Wu kept checking on his phone during the day, he was looking forward to some progress with the lady; now he still constantly checked on his phone, he was waiting for someone else instead.

His phone finally rang, Wu's heart raced.

Once he saw it was from the lady, not sure why he isn't as excited anymore.

During the day he was afraid the calls were from Chi, at night he was afraid that the calls aren't from him.

Maybe only at night, he then understands which of them are just for the sake of excitement, which really made him fell in love.

'I've followed you on Weibo.'

After seeing the message, Wu boringly went onto to Weibo, he wanted to politely follow back, then he shockingly found out that Chi has reposted something.

Chi started Weibo to promote Wu's company in the first place, he rarely speaks about his personal matters, he won't even scroll through it, follow someone else, and repost their posts.

So Wu was really curious, what made Chi did something out of the ordinary.

He clicked into it, after a while, because of the slow Wifi, the photo came out in strip by strip.

First it's the head full of curls, then two straight brows, then it's the dark eyes, it gets bigger and bigger, until the two whole eyes appeared fully, Wu's mind is about to be blown away.

Oh my God!

Aren't I dead now?
