Counter Attack Chapter 177

Guo has been out of the country for half a month due to work; when he returned and saw Wang, the first thing he asked was, 'How is Shuai Shuai recently?'

Wang finally spoke after what felt like a century, 'He's alright.'

'What alright?' Guo glanced at Wang, 'I'm very busy recently, I didn't have the time to call him, is he mad at me?'

Wang coughed, 'No, he's fine and dandy.'

Guo heard how Wang said that he knew something was going on, 'How fine?'

Wang chose his words carefully, 'You might not even recognize him when you see him.'

Guo replied, 'Go to the clinic first.'

Then, they drove all the way to the clinic from the airport.

Shuai was playing around with bottles of pills looking bored, when he heard the sound of the brakes outside the door, he looked out and his eyes immediately gleamed. But when the person in the car got down, he then kept the gleam away and continue acting all bored.

Once Guo stepped into the clinic, Shuai's phone rang. He peered over to Guo, he slowly picked up the phone call.

'Hello?'

'It's me, what do you want?'

'Go out? I'm not going. Who said online that they're gonna be back yesterday? Made me wait for one whole day for nothing.'

Shuai still has a head full of curly locks, with that body of a suit and his legs shaking, displaying an attitude to Guo. 

Guo was rather patient, he grabbed a stool and sat down, he squinted his eyes while staring at Shuai who was openly 'flirting' in front of him.

'Did you know how disappointed I was when you didn't come yesterday?'

'Bad weather? Is that a valid reason?'

'I wouldn't even see you even if you come now, who told you to absent yourself?'

'You can give whoever you want, I don't care.'

'Hey, why are you acting like this? I said I don't want it, you still forced me to accept it.'

'Fine fine, you're so pathetic, I'll take it, you just put it at the market place beside my clinic. Don't need to show your face here, I don't even want to see you.'

He placed down his phone, acted as if he was shocked to see Guo, 'Hey, you're here? When did you come back?'

'The moment you picked up the call from the delivery man,' Guo said.

Shuai's face dropped, 'What delivery man?'

Guo licked his canine teeth and smiled, 'The call just now, wasn't that from the delivery man?'

Fuck...Shuai cursed inside, there's no fun in teasing him, he could see through my little tricks.

'What delivery man?' Shuai continued with his acting, 'How did you even come up with that idea? How does your brain work?'

Just as he said that, a sound rang from outside, 'Who is Jiang Xiao Shuai?'

Shuai came out with a long face, then said impolitely, 'Didn't I let you put at the market place beside?  Why did you come to my door?'

The delivery man has a squarish face, with a stubby figure, he was studying Shuai, 'You don't want to see me, but I want to. I finally witnessed this, I've delivered so many packages, I've seen every kind of person.' After saying that, he climbed back onto his bike and vroomed away.

Shuai hasn't even turned around, Guo's deep and mellow voice rang behind his head. 'I don't think I have a problem with my brain, it's your hair.'

Shuai didn't say anything, he sat down onto the couch with a glum expression.

Guo walked over and ran his fingers through Shuai's head full of curly locks, 'I want to straighten every curly hair on your head, what should I do?'

Shuai gritted his teeth, 'I dare you!'

Guo leaned closer to Shuai and whispered into his ear, 'Is your hair down there as curly as well?'

Shuai swept a fist across his face, Guo also gladly received it, then he pulled Shuai in for a hug and a mark of his sharp teeth on his head, 'I missed you.'

But Shuai said, 'The night before, Shuo spent the night in my house.'

Guo's expression died down, 'How did you get together with him?'

'What are you worried about?' Shuai glanced over at Guo, 'I realized you and Chi have the same issue, you guys would flare up each time someone mentioned something about Shuo, are you two afraid that he might reveal some secrets about you?'

'Here comes again...' Guo clenched his jaw, 'What secrets do I have?'

'Fine fine fine...' Shuai quickly stopped him, 'Don't tell me just yet, I need you to see something.' As he was saying, he took out the file of medical records and handed them over to Guo.

Guo took a brief look at it, his expression turned, his quad muscles were tensed up and he felt a chill down his spine.

'Where did you get these records from?'

Shuai said, 'Wu got these from Chi's aunt, seven years ago, half a year before Shuo left, he will go there almost every other day.'

It seemed like Guo just knew about this matter as well, his eyes looked confused and shocked while he was reading the records. He then looked at the doctor's diagnostic proof and the patient's record, his expression has never been worse.

'You three were such good friends back then, you didn't know about this?' Shuai completely predicted it, Guo really didn't know anything about it at all. He just remembered Chi and Shuo were constantly fighting that period of time, after each fight, Chi would go to Guo's and have a drink, then after he was drunk he would always call for Guo, he wouldn't say anything when someone asked him a question.'

'You were quite dumb back then?' Shuai asked.

Guo said coldly, 'I grew smarter after what I've gone through after that.'

'Fuck!' Shuai gritted his teeth, 'Shuo is really something else, after he left, he has helped you two develop mentally, he was basically you guys' mental sculptor.'

Guo kept quiet for a while before telling Shuai, 'I still need to go see Shuo, I couldn't ask him the questions I had before something else cropped up.'

Shuai nodded in agreement.

Guo asked Shuai unsurely, 'You don't mind I send my gang there?'

Even Wang who was listening outside felt embarrassed, Boss Guo, where did your bravery go? You have thrown them out of the window, haven't you? Looking at your cowardice, I'm worried about you already.

Shuai clenched his fists, 'Bro, I would rather you go, this is the time for you to shine! Let your intelligence meet the light! I've been waiting for the day that this case to be settled for so long.'

Guo took the records in his hand, walked out of the clinic with a serious look on his face...

Now, Gang has been determining the relationship between Chi and Wu by measuring the time that Chi spends with him. The shorter time he spends with Gang, the better their relationship, the longer he stays, the more it shows that their relationship has a great problem.

It has already been 2 weeks, Gang could see Chi almost every day, this shows a bad sign.

The car was driving on the road, seeing that it was almost arriving at that junction; to the west is the direction to Chi's house, within 200 metres to the east direction is Wu's company.

Gang always asked out of habit, 'Where are you turning?' Chi's gaze was fixed on the west direction. Just as Gang was about to turn into the west junction, three cars followed and completely jammed the whole junction. Looking at things now, they would have to wait for a long time, Gang lit a cigarette and handed it over to Chi.

Chi didn't receive it, his eyes were affixed outside of the window, towards Wu's company's direction.

'It has been 2 weeks huh?' Gang asked.

Chi turned his head back, simply replied, 'Spent a night in someone's house, ignoring him for 2 weeks, that's a discount for him.'

'So serious?' Gang was surprised, 'You didn't punish him?'

'If I didn't chase him out of the house, he would've been lying in the hospital right now.'

Gang was impressed by his benevolence, Chi is growing more and more like a gentleman, if it was in the past, don't even say about kicking him out of the house, the person would've broken a leg by now.

'He is getting gutsier, you need to keep him in check.'

Chi stared out of the window gloomily and said, 'How is he gutsy? He's just trying to piss me off.'

Gang couldn't help but smile, 'Since the car is stuck here now, why don't you go down and see him? You can bring him home too?'

Chi hesitated and said, 'Let him spend some time at home with his mother.'

Gang has been enlightened immediately, being mad is a small issue, he's thinking about responsibility, Chi is more understanding that you thought.

The two was in silence for a while, Gang's suddenly spotted something, 'Why do I feel the company's entrance is a little weird? Does it have more people than usual?'

Chi said, 'Go down and have a look.'

'You're not going?' Gang asked.

Chi didn't reply, all he could think of is Wu now, if he really went down to check on him, he wouldn't come back to the car at all.

Gang knew his thoughts, he quickly went down and walked towards Wu's company. After around half an hour, Gang returned to the car.

Chi asked, 'What's the problem?'

Gang said, 'It's nothing serious, there's a customer who ordered some lights but they got the colours wrong, so he went to the company to start some mess. Not only he wants new lights, he demanded to pay for their renovation fees, saying that their company's time is precious and that we were preventing them from earning money.'

Chi snickered, 'So you solved it? Did you pay them?'

'Yes,' Gang replied, 'Wu wasn't there so I made the decision, there were so many bystanders, I must do something.'

Chi squinted his eyes, 'How did they mess up the colours?'

'Who knows?' Gang said, 'Lin told me, these lights were picked by Wu himself. It didn't only happen once, for every order that was done by him, there would have complains about colours.'

Chi let his thought sink in for a while, then slowly his gaze started to lose its stability.

"Wearing pink underwear, aren't you trying to make a sexual appeal?" "What are you talking? Mine is grey." 

"You ran a red light." "It's impossible, I drove along with the car beside me." "You just ran a red light, why are you even following the cars beside you?"

"Da Bao, be careful of the yellow python behind you."

Chi suddenly realized something.

Just at this moment, his phone suddenly rang, it was a call from the doctor. 'Please hurry over, her condition isn't that good, her son has followed her. There was a new nurse and I forgot to remind her, she accidentally spurted out the news, her son...might know it by now.'

surprise update today in celebration of getting a million views on this book!! I'm so happy and even though it isn't exactly my own creation, I'm glad this book is getting the recognition and support that it deserves!! on a side note, I'm thinking of starting my own new book after finishing translating this book, but I'm not sure if i'm ready to write it cause I don't exactly have the motivation to write it now especially when I just started a new semester of school. But if i'm writing my book then it will definitely be after april, not sure about the date still because when it comes to creativity and writing it takes time and I have to wait for the right time as well!
