The situation in the clubhouse was actually really terrible; what it contained was far less than what Zhou Qingfeng had expected. There were not a lot of stored food as only fresh food was cooked in the kitchen. There was no backup fuel as they used a piped gas line. The important people in the clubhouse were gone, and most of the remaining people were not helpful.

“Everyone, our situation is really bad, and it would only get worse. It’s not possible for us to live here in the long-term. We have to leave right now.

“Lena, mobilize the staff. Pack up only the basic necessities and some valuable stuff for trading. Other than those, leave the rest behind.

“Mr Patrick, could you help me take care of the professors and researchers? There were a few good doctors among them along with some nurses. They’ll be helpful in taking care of everyone’s health.

“Zogar, take a few men with you and follow me. We need to go to the headquarters and see what’s going on there. We’ll take a few trucks for transport.

“Alright, everyone, let’s get moving. I can’t reset your lives to their original peaceful states, but trust me; if you follow my instructions, you’ll be leading better lives than any other person in this goddamn world.”

Even though Zhou Qingfeng’s words were a bit arrogant and overbearing, it gave the people the direction and the reassurance they needed in this chaotic, panic-stricken situation.

The only security guard left in the clubhouse was Zogar. He was a robust guy who was two meters tall, and it was said that he served in the military. While his body fat made him appear unqualified to be a soldier, his appearance was still indeed frightening.

“Mr Hugo, we’ll follow your instructions.” Zogar waved his hand and pulled out all the men in the clubhouse. “But we’ve never killed anyone and none of us has a criminal record. So if any fighting breaks out, we might not be able to help.”

In truth, what he meant was perhaps ‘you’re the pioneer, I’ll be the backup’. Zhou Qingfeng wanted to complain, but he held back. He took out a few pistols, gave them to the men, and said stoically, “Just listen to my instructions.”

After he was armed, Zhou Qingfeng brought a police channel radio with him and told Lena Fox to keep in contact. He then led the team to search through Manhattan.

It was twelve o’clock in the morning, six hours after the start of the cataclysm. The order in the society was still maintained. Although some sporadic robbery and violence cases occurred, Zhou Qingfeng’s team was the first to really plan to commit robbery.

The distance from Fifth Avenue to the NYPD headquarters was only less than five kilometers. They had only been on the road for a while when Zhou Qingfeng saw the police motorcycle that he planned to get.

It was a big motorcycle with a high horsepower and a large displacement. Its size was very suitable for driving through the traffic congestion in the area. Two black men were riding the bike here and there happily.

“Hey, man! Nice bike!” Zhou Qingfeng waved to them.

“Yeah, man! It was God’s grace that those cops are now gone. There are cars everywhere, take whatever you want! It’s the best feeling man.” The man who was riding the bike was optimistic. He laughed and approached Zhou Qingfeng as Zhou Qingfeng greeted him.

However, as soon as the man on the bike came closer, the smiley Zhou Qingfeng fired at him immediately. Two shots: one through his chest and another one through his brain.

The man who was riding the bike fell down. The other man sitting behind him instantly took his gun out—but DogMeat was already in front of him.

The team was walking with Zhou Qingfeng in the lead, with five other men behind Zogar. They thought Zhou Qingfeng was being friendly when he greeted the men on the bike. They did not expect that he was going to kill people.

Compared to Zhou Qingfeng, who killed the guy with a gun, DogMeat was much more bloody, cruel and visually shocking in its killing. Everyone in the team was holding a powerful torch and as they saw the dead body killed by DogMeat, they were dumbfounded and became too afraid to move.

“Hurry up!” Zhou Qingfeng snapped. The police motorcycle fell on the ground as the two black men were shot. Zhou Qingfeng removed the dead bodies, carried the bike, and growled in a cold tone, “If someone wants to vomit, do it now. If anyone wants to quit, I’m sorry, but I don’t accept.”

With the exception of Zhou Qingfeng, all of them vomited. They were frightened, and the way they looked at Zhou Qingfeng was even more complicated. As for the way they looked at DogMeat, only fear was in their eyes.

Zhou Qingfeng rode the bike and continued to lead the team. Soon enough, they got six bikes through all sorts of ways and their speed increased significantly. After thirty minutes, they arrived at the headquarters of the NYPD.

The headquarters was located at Parker Avenue in Downtown Manhattan. It was surrounded by tall buildings, and across the street was the town hall. Each of the buildings has its own legendary story. For example, the world famous Wall Street and the collapsed World Trade Center in the 9/11 attack were nearby.

Here was the center of the American economy!

The American economy was controlled by both large and small companies and organizations. The people who worked here were under these establishments. The establishments were gone, and the people had also disappeared. Therefore, the center had come to its end.

However, even with the current situation, a lot of people still remained, especially since Downtown Manhattan was in close proximity to Brooklyn. One only needed to cross the Brooklyn Bridge to reach the other side. And so, there were many gangsters from Brooklyn wandering around in the area.

As soon as Zhou Qingfeng and his team arrived at the headquarters, they heard the vigorous sounds of a crossfire. It was so intense that there were even bullets flying over his head. He took out a night vision scope and looked at the direction of the crossfire. He saw the shadow of a man flying through the air before ultimately falling on the ground.

There were not a lot of people who could make that effect without using a bomb, and Zhou Qingfeng knew someone who was good at it—Katrina Riven. That tough lady liked to run with full speed and kick people, sending them flying five meters high. She enjoyed the excitement of killing under a rain of bullets.

If during a war someone was seen tumbling through the air and flying with all kinds of style, undoubtedly, there was an extremely crazy woman freaking out nearby!

That was not the most important thing, however. Zhou Qingfeng saw at least twenty to thirty gunshots at the same time; it could already be considered a large-scale crossfire. With Katrina Riven there, it was implied that David Lawrence and his strong friends were there, too.

It seemed like someone had the same idea as Zhou Qingfeng—to take over the headquarters. However, his relationship with David Lawrence was not good at the moment. Should he get involved?
