Chapter 288        A Bet

When sisters, Ellie and Eileen arrived, a simple shooting range was already set up in the open-air cinema. The targets were a few empty glass bottles from a hundred yards away.

“Victor, where's the dumb, rich man you mentioned?” Ellie was more lively compared to Eileen. She walked to Zhou Qingfeng and asked.

Zhou Qingfeng was standing with the important people from each organization. He was standing with Jose, Mirta, and her husband, General Federo. When Zhou Qingfeng saw sisters Ellie and Eileen, he laughed and said, “Here we go, my contestants are here.”

Compared to an adult woman, the sixteen-year-old Ellie and Eileen were considered small. Their bone structures were smaller than other girls of similar age. Looking at those two adorable faces, nobody would connect them to being a part of a sniper group.

“So, they are the best shooters you have? They're kids and they're girls,” Jose laughed with disdain. “Hugo, is the Polarlys Legion a refugee center?”

Mirta was pissed when she heard what Jose said; Jose was sexist. However, she had to agree with Jose that the sisters did not look anything like soldiers. Soldiers were strong and huge. The two of them, with their ponytails, did not look like that at all.

Meanwhile, there were people who were already starting to play at the shooting range. There were many people trying their luck because the reward was a thousand gold coins. Tons of people were watching the game. When they saw the two little girls sent by Zhou Qingfeng, everyone was confused.

“Hey, there's someone who despises both of you. This stupid, old man standing right beside me. He doesn't think any good about both of you and doubts you can win the game,” Zhou Qingfeng was trying to motivate them.

Ellie and Eileen's faces were as cold as ice, especially Eileen. The reason she was able to stay with Zhou Qingfeng was because of her shooting skills. If it was not because of her shooting skills, she had no idea what her and her sister would have become.

Ever since sisters, Ellie and Eileen, joined Zhou Qingfeng, they have been practicing every day. Shooting and sniping were the only skills they were good at; they would not give up. They would not allow anyone to disagree with their skills, especially in front of Zhou Qingfeng.

“Ellie, it's our turn. Time to show those b*stards what we've got.” Eileen waved to Ellie and both of them walked towards the shooting range. The people who were watching immediately opened up a path for them. They doubted them both.

“They look so cute and pretty. I think both of them are Mr. Hugo's sweet taboos. As for their shooting skills, honestly, I don't expect a lot from them.”

“Shooting requires long periods of practice, training, and correct guidance. I don't believe these two little girls are able to win.”

“Even if they started shooting when they were young, they would have only around ten years of experience. There are tons of people who have been practicing shooting for more than twenty or even thirty years. There's no way these two little girls will win.”

Sisters, Ellie and Eileen, were unhappy when the people around discussed about them. When they arrived at the shooting range, a burly man laughed and said, “Hey! Little girls. Are you sure you're in the right place? This is not an arcade. Do you know the thing I'm holding right now? Hahaha…..”

Jose was standing on high ground and shouted at Zhou Qingfeng, “Mr. Hugo, your two little girls are here and they're up against the best marksman of mine, Li Cha. Why don't we place a bet?”

“Oh…., what are we betting?” Zhou Qingfeng was interested.

Jose put his hand into his pocket and took out a little, black cube. “This is a mini nuclear battery. I found it in a secret lab in Florida. I supposed this is the only nuclear battery in the world.”

“It's basically a mini nuclear fusion reactor. Even though its power isn't comparable to a normal-sized nuclear reactor, it could provide one thousand and five hundred watts of energy. That's enough to power a tank of more than a dozen tons.”

Wow, that's great stuff!

Zhou Qingfeng was staring at that little, black cube. It was so much better than any graphene battery on any electronic device at the moment. The battle for energy had led to countless wars and deaths. If what Jose said was real, that cube was a real treasure!

Zhou Qingfeng was pretty sure that Jose did not understand the importance of it. Jose only knew that it was a little more advanced than the graphene batteries used to store energy; it was just one of his collections.

However, for Zhou Qingfeng, that nuclear battery was precious. When he heard Jose's explanation, he decided that he must get the nuclear battery, even if it could lead to a war.

Jose knew Zhou Qingfeng would be interested. He put the nuclear battery back into his pocket and smiled, “If you win, this battery is going to be yours. If you don't, you're gonna act as a dog in front of me then get out of Guantanamo, what do you say?”

Idiot! I don't mind acting like a dog if you give me that cube immediately. Zhou Qingfeng grinned and shouted at sisters, Ellie and Eileen, “He has got something really good. Don't miss it, we must win today!”

The Cubans were excited when Zhou Qingfeng called out. That cube must be really important for Zhou Qingfeng. It might be even better than ten thousand gold coins!

However, sisters, Ellie and Eileen knew what Zhou Qingfeng actually meant. Zhou Qingfeng usually appeared kind but was actually mean. The call out was not to just tell them that the cube was important. For someone who would dare to throw a nuclear bomb on himself, he was saying - we'll kill everyone and destroy anything to get that cube.

Facing such a serious situation, sisters, Ellie and Eileen stared and nodded at each other. Eileen took out her M40A5 rifle and Ellie carried the digital multifunctional telescope. They were very serious about this contest.

Looking at the equipment taken out by both sisters, Li Cha was a little surprised. He was using a very old Mosin-Nagant sniper rifle. It was a bolt-action rifle which has more than a hundred year history. However, it was accurate and stable.

The entire contest had became serious with the huge bet. Clearly, it was a battle between two organizations and the sniper from each side would decide the winner!

If Zhou Qingfeng won, that nuclear battery will belong to him. If he didn't, it was going to be a huge insult. The dignity and prestige he earned over the past few days would be wasted. He would be ashamed and would not continue to stay in Guantanamo.

Under more than thousands of pairs of eyes, Li cha fired. In such a dim environment, he fired at the target a hundred yards away from him. Ten bullets were fired and ten glass bottles were hit. He is indeed, pretty impressive!
