M107A2, the Barrett M82A1, was a recoil-operated, semi-automatic anti-material rifle. It was used by the U.S army to hit light-armored targets within one thousand and four hundred meters. It was equipped with the most advanced sight scope. When Ellie and Eileen took it out, the bag was even taller than them.

Zhou Qingfeng enjoyed the feeling of hitting the target when sniping. However, to be a good sniper, it was not just accuracy that was needed, patience and mindfulness were rather important too. Zhou Qingfeng was just not the kind of person who could just sit there to target.

“I don't need you to say anything, I just want you to stick to your job. I remember Jose saying that you were his shooting coach, so you'll coach my people. Eileen, bring him to the doctor and make sure they settle down. He's heading back to Nassau tomorrow.”

Zhou Qingfeng brought Dr. Belford with him all along. Dr. Belford was an experienced surgeon; he was the medical expert in Zhou Qingfeng's team. After he took a look at Li Cha's eye and arms, he began treatment.

“I'm sorry to say that I can't do anything about your right eye. The entire eyeball is completely destroyed. I don't have any prosthetic eyeballs with me at the moment so I'm gonna remove all the injured tissues to prevent infection. You're going to be wearing an eye mask for the rest of your life.”

Li Cha calmly nodded his head when he heard what the doctor said. His wife, who stood next to him cried and his son held his hand. Li Cha's son was confused. He could not understand why his father would suddenly lose an eye.

Dr. Belford scanned his eye and hands with an X-ray machine. “Both your hands and fingers have comminuted fractures, but the medical service in the Polarlys Legion is good enough. Tomorrow you'll be going to Nassau and someone there will help you with the operation.”

Li Cha was stunned for a few moments and asked, “Can I still hold a rifle after the operation?”

“I'm afraid not.” Dr. Belford shook his head, “Your hands were severely injured. I'd say your hands would recover by at most, eighty-percent, but they won't be as stable and strong as before.”

Both hands were important for a marksman. Li Cha's eyes filled with anger when he heard the doctor's explanation. When he thought about how Jose beat him and threw him out, his mind filled with anger. “I'm not going to Nassau, I wanna stay here.”

Dr. Belford was astonished. He heard about Li Cha from Ellie and Eileen; he knew that Li Cha was thinking about revenge. Dr. Belford reminded him, “I can't make you as perfect as before, I can only stop it from getting worse. But if you don't go to Nassau for the operation, your hands wouldn't even begin to recover.”

Li Cha still shook his head, “Even if my hands are not gonna recover, I can't hold a rifle anymore. If I go to Nassau, I'm just gonna be an ordinary shooting coach. It'll be better for me to stay.”

“What are you gonna do? Your hands are disabled.” Dr. Belford did not understand.

“I'm useless, but I have my son. The first toy I got for my son, Silva, was a pistol. When he was three, he was already playing with the .22 BB cap gun to shoot birds.”

“Silva is more talented than I am in shooting. He's already ten and ready to be a marksman. I can shoot but I can be his assistant and teacher. I have experience and I'll guide him.”

Li Cha was excited when he spoke about his son. He turned to his son and said gently, “Silva, we're gonna work together and nobody is going to beat us again. Miami is just a mess, Mr. Hugo needs us.”

The big and strong Silva came to his father, grabbed his father's arm, and said with a serious tone, “Dad, I'm not gonna let you down. We're going to punish the bad guy who hurt you.”

After basic treatment, Li Cha and his family were arranged to stay in a standard two-bedroom suite. His life was truly amazing and unbelievable. Before this, they were under Jose and lived a good life. All of a sudden, they were thrown out and left on the street. After a few hours, they were in a five-star hotel suite. They could not have been able to afford this kind of hotel even before the cataclysm.

Once they settled down, Li Cha and his family immediately received some basic necessities. There were clothes, a wireless radio, and a great dinner. The food was prepared by the chef of the hotel. It was the best dinner they had ever had.

Li Cha's wife started to cry as she ate, “Can we stay like this forever? I don't wanna get chased out again. I don't wanna lose anything again. I don't wanna live on the street anymore.”

“Honey, trust me. I promise you, no one is going to hurt us anymore.” To be honest, when Li Cha was the coach in the Strategy Committee, life was not as good as it was now. Zhou Qingfeng was not a stingy man, he would only give the best to the people who worked hard.

Li Cha had seen Zhou Qingfeng's cruelty and now he has experienced Zhou Qingfeng's generosity. He felt hope rising in his heart - the hope of getting his life together once again.

After the delicious dinner, Li Cha started to speak seriously, “From now on, we're gonna work as a team. I'm the observer and will be in charge of commanding. Silva is gonna be the shooter who shoots the target. Honey, you're gonna be in charge of defence and logistics. Help us carry the weapons and set up the sniper.”

The M107A2 was a huge sniper rifle and it was really heavy. Silva will not be able to carry it for very long. Thus, Li Cha had to carry the rifle. However, because his hands were disabled, his wife would need to take the job.

Li Cha opened the bag given by Zhou Qingfeng and took out the full rifle set. Compared to the old Mosin-Nagant he had, the M107A2 was much more luxurious. It was like the difference between a BMW and a bike.

Usually, people would pay attention to the shooter in a sniper team. In fact, observers were the most important. Only experienced shooters had the chance to be promoted to observers. Observers were the brains and souls of a sniper team.

The sniper was equipped with the fourth-generation digital high-powered scope with infrared night vision. The scope itself cost more than twenty thousand dollars; it was the most expensive scope. Even though Li Cha could not play with the sniper, he had a little MP7A1 to protect himself. Meanwhile, his son, Silva had already started to play with the heavy and huge sniper rifle. Silva played around with the digital scope. He looked through the scope and everything within a thousand meters was clear to him.

“Wow, it feels so great. Just a little heavy.” Thirteen kilograms were not easy for Silva, “Mom, you're gonna be setting up the position for the sniper. I'm gonna destroy and eliminate everything that stands in front of us.”

Li Cha felt proud of his son. He held his son's hand, put his arm around his wife, and looked at the M107A2 on the floor. Their fate relied on this weapon in front of them. “From now on, we're the sniper team working for Mr. Hugo. In order to survive, we have to be the strongest.”
