Mox needed two surgeries: one for trachea recovery, and another for his throat. It would not have been a problem before the cataclysm, but now, it was a big problem. There were doctors able to do the surgery, but the necessary equipments were in shortage.

Butcher had led a team to search for equipment in all the hospitals in Manhattan. However, it would be difficult for them to collect all the required equipment; two weeks had passed since the cataclysm happened. Almost everything was destroyed and ruined in town.

The other thing that bothered Zhou Qingfeng was the reproduction of the NTZ-49. Professor Kelvin, who was in charge of the production, claimed that the work was proceeding with some good progress. However, it was just progress—he needed to wait for another week.

Other than that, there were all sorts of trivial matters. For instance, due to the fact that the Armed Nun Society was famous in Manhattan, there existed people who harbor bad intentions toward the community. All sorts of robbery and cases of violence happened every day. There were even people from other organizations spying to dig people out.

Lena Fox was going to set up a court of some sort, and even assigned Katrina as the Legal Director, which was just a fancy name for a judge. In the end, when the ferocious lady became so annoyed and confused by the complicated cases, she signed everything—death penalty for all the criminals caught!

There were other stuff that they have no information on, like the ‘Brotherhood of Steel’, ‘Skull and Bones’ and ‘The Enclave’. Besides David Lawrence who was searching for his wife, nobody gave a d*mn about it.

“Here you go, the latest journal.” That night, Zhou Qingfeng lay on the bed, preparing to rest. Jenny wore her pajamas, then walked out of the bathroom and handed him a thick newspaper.

Lena supplied the community with the water from Hudson River. The water was filtered and cleaned before being used by the people in the community. Even though the water supply was not stable all the time, it was good enough for them. The only thing in shortage at the moment was the electric power. The solar panels were not able to store energy during cloudy or rainy days.

As one of the leaders in the community, Zhou Qingfeng was free to use all the resources in any way he liked. Looking at Jenny, with her busty body covered in tight pajamas, Zhou Qingfeng did not bother himself with the journal. He immediately pulled his lover to bed and got ready to have sex with her.

Jenny liked Zhou Qingfeng being aggressive; it showed that she was favored. She giggled and gently pushed Zhou Qingfeng away. “Look at the journal first. There’s something there about you.”

“Again?” Zhou Qingfeng was afraid of being too famous. Due to his infamy, he became a target of the ‘Republic of New York’, which caused a lot of problems. “What is it about?”

After a week’s development, the Cataclysm Journal began publishing newspapers that were all delivered by drones. At the same time, they traded information, items, and conducted business with some trusted organizations through the drones. Jenny was a famous journalist from Wall Street, so she was very sensitive to information and news.

“Gunfight in Manhattan, Zetas defeated. Victory for the Armed Nun Society.” Once Zhou Qingfeng saw the heading, he knew it was about him. However, the newspaper clearly was not aware of the details surrounding the entire incident; they had just emphasized the ones who had come out victorious.

Without a doubt, it was advertised by Lena Fox! The purpose was to attract more and more people to live in the community of the Armed Nun Society, and consequently gather more talented people and workers. They were the most important elements in order to survive the last phase.

“Unmatched Victor Hugo exposed his power, got rid of the evil sect which occupied the town hall. He, as a saint, a person of noble nature and unsullied character, was willing to sacrifice and recover the order in society.”

Zhou Qingfeng was embarrassed by the paragraph. “This literally just happened. How did it get reported so quickly?”

“Lena gave the permission to a reporter from the Cataclysm Journal to stay in the Armed Nun Society to report the things happening in Manhattan. It would be extremely easy for Lena to get such efficient news.” Jenny straddled Zhou Qingfeng and rubbed her breasts against his abs. She tried to charm her lover with her body. “Victor, you’re so fit!”

Jenny was aware that Zhou Qingfeng enjoyed reading the paper with her in his lap. He continued to read while he felt warm lips wrap around him. It felt amazing.

Apart from that news, the Cataclysm Journal reported all sorts of other news about the cataclysm. Zhou Qingfeng saw a few locations where the black markets were. They were mostly in Queens. The prices of products were listed on the paper.

With the general shortage of medicines, the prices of food, tools, and fuel shot through the roof. They could only be traded for items, and even gold might not be accepted.

The Cataclysm Journal also published all sorts of job hiring opportunities. Most of them looked for those who do services and maintenance. Nobody wanted those lawyers or financial experts who earned over million dollars a year.

It was a surprise that a slave trade appeared; slaves have started to be sold in public. A young woman only required a dozen of canned food; the price was extremely cheap. Some of the pretty women even posted their nudes, stated their ages, and their body measurements.

Some of their appearances and bodies were even comparable to the beautiful Jenny. They looked very attractive. It would not be that bad to live in the last phase if you were rich and powerful. Of course, it would be even better without the coming nuclear war.

As Zhou Qingfeng continued reading the journal, he saw a very inconspicuous notice. “The Brotherhood of Steel is recruiting U.S. white men soldiers. The duty of a soldier is to fight for the honor of the United States, and rebuild America.”

The notice itself was simple, however, there was a note at the bottom that read with an extremely conceited tone: “All the organizations in New York are considered illegal. Everyone must be ready to work under the Brotherhood of Steel. Only the people who are recognized can survive.”

At the very end, there was a phrase that enraged Zhou Qingfeng: “We’re the white supremacists. Outstanding people like us have the power to rule the world, the rest of you will be slaves and subordinates.”

The notice even classified people as such: “White people comprise the first class, and can become leaders and government officials; black people are the second class, and can become farmers or workers to serve the white people; the rest are rubbish, and can only live and be controlled by the black people.”

“F*ck*ng bullsh*t!” Zhou Qingfeng was disgusted and enraged.

Jenny immediately sensed Zhou Qingfeng’s emotion; she was sitting on his legs. As she heard Zhou Qingfeng curse someone, she came closer and asked, “Honey, why are you so mad?”

“If this Brotherhood of Steel ruled New York, I’ll be a goner,” Zhou Qingfeng said as he pointed at the notice.

Jenny laughed with disdain and said, “The cataclysm is here and those people with all the bullsh*t in their heads start to appear. They have no idea how powerful you are, but I clearly know you. Stop thinking about it, release it on me. Come on, f*** me!”
