Virtual World: Conquering the World Chapter 44

The girls immediately gathered around me and Ling Xue said with a smile, “Little fool, let me see, let me see!”

I shared the stats of the skill book with them.

[Prepared Resurrection]: Adds a resurrection buff to party members, so that they can be revived instantly within the next 60 minutes.

Requirements: Level 30 Cleric.

It was well known that in «Spirit of Grief», Clerics couldn't learn resurrection spells from their instructors.  They could only rely on skill books to drop from monsters.  It seemed like we have just obtained one of those skill books!

Purple Rhyme revealed a smile as she said in a happy voice, “About this, can I learn this skill book?”

I looked at Ling Xue and Ling Yue and said, “I agree with giving it to Purple Rhyme, what about you guys?”

Ling Yue nodded with a smile as she said, “Of course.”

Ling Xue blinked and said, “This is great, finally we don't have to be afraid of being instantly killed.…..”

So, I traded this precious Prepared Resurrection skill book over to Purple Rhyme and with a flash of light, she had learned the skill.  Then with a wave of her hand, a white light fell down onto Ling Xue’s body, gradually falling down like snow as it formed an aura around her.  The aura moved with Ling Xue and looked very beautiful.  At the same time -

“Ding!”

Battle Notification: Player Gentle Breeze Flying Snow has gained the Prepared Resurrection buff and will revive if she dies within 60 minutes!

Ling Xue cheered as she smiled and said, “Now I don't have to worry about being instantly killed!”

Purple Rhyme nodded with a smile and said, “Un, this skill has a 10 minute cooldown, so I will be able to give everyone the resurrection buff!”

I revealed a smile and then shared the leg guard’s stats with the party.  The leg guard released a blue light that was very nice to look at.

Everyone was a little surprised.  If this leg guard was already this broken, then what would it be like after being appraised?

So I threw the leg guard over to Ling Xue and said, “Wait until you level up once more and then you’ll be able to use it!”

Ling Xue had a joyful smile as she nodded, “Un!”

Ling Yue looked at the stairs to the next floor and said, “Let’s go to the fourth floor.  We’ll talk after killing the mobs on the next floor!”

Entering the fourth floor, a cold breeze blew past us.  The entire floor felt like it was filled with a cold aura.

In the distance, a pair of blood red eyes stared at us as we entered the fourth floor!

Ling Xue couldn’t help being shocked as she took a step back, perfectly leaning into my shoulder.  I was gently shaken by her, but I patted her shoulder while telling her that there was nothing to fear.

Ling Xue looked up at me before pursing her lips into a smile.  Then she brandished her sword as she stood beside me.

As for Ling Yue, she just watched how Ling Xue and I acted without saying anything.  Then she gave a gentle sigh, looking a bit lonely.

Purple Rhyme grabbed her staff and activated the Prepared Resurrection a second time.  This time it was cast on me because I was the second close combat member of the party!

In front of us, there were the giant knights riding giant beasts that scared Ling Xue!  There was a demonic glow in their black eye holes.  They wore broken armour that revealed pure white bones underneath.  These already dead soldiers gripped the reins of the wild beasts that they sat atop.

Those wild beasts were also dead and their eyes had been rotted away, leaving a black hole.  Their entire body exuded a decaying smell.  Their bones were exposed and a foggy breath came from their mouth.  The direction they attacked in all depended on the riders on their backs.

Additional stat: Attacks have a tearing effect.  They have the possibility of dealing double damage to cloth armoured targets.

Seeing the rows of question marks and the single additional stat revealed, I was a little surprised.  Then I asked, “Ling Yu, can you see the monster’s stats?”

Ling Yue speechlessly shook her head, “I can’t see them.  They should be around level 45!”

Ling Xue’s little mouth opened wide as she said in a surprised voice, “That high!”

Ling Yue nodded with a smile, “It’s good if it’s high.  The higher it is compared to us, the more experience and equipment it’ll give us!”

Purple Rhyme also said with a smile, “Then…..let’s first pull one over and kill it?”

No one had an objection, so I took a step forward and shot an ice arrow to pull a Beast Riding Corpse Knight over.  We watched as the Corpse Knight’s empty eyes suddenly look over at us and pulled the reins, making the wild beast charge at us!

Ling Yue lifted her hand to release a fireball which slammed into the Corpse Knight’s chest.  The Corpse Knight shook and a damage figure appeared above its head: 764!

This was considered quite a good amount of damage.  Then I released an armour piercing arrow.  A white light flew out at the Corpse Knight’s neck and a very clear damage figure appeared: 823!

It seemed like my armour piercing arrow was only a bit stronger when compared to Ling Yue’s fireball!

Ling Xue held her Light Flow Sword in her hand and charged forward, she slashed down on the Beast Riding Corpse Knight’s mount’s head.  With a “peng” sound, the wild beast gave a pitiful cry, but it only took 435 points of damage.

Ling Xue gave a “wu, wu” cry of complaint as she said, “I can’t hit the knight and can only hit the mount, what should I do?”

Ling Yue couldn’t help smiling as she said, “That is because Xue’er’s range isn’t long enough!”

Ling Xue pursed her lips into a smile, “I’m already 168 cms tall, no one will want me if I’m any taller!”

Purple Rhyme covered her mouth on the side as she secretly gave a laugh.  At the same time, the Beast Riding Corpse Knight made its move and the wild beast charged forward.  The wild beast suddenly twisted its head and then bit down on Ling Xue’s little shoulder!

“Chi la~!”

Giving a gentle cry, Ling Xue couldn't help taking a few steps back as a “769” damage figure appeared about her head!

My heart skipped a beat as I looked at Purple Rhyme in blank dismay.  This normal monster’s attack was really strong, it was even stronger than the third floor’s boss!  It seemed like it would be impossible to gather up the monsters and kill them.  If we did that, Ling Xue wouldn’t be able to hold on anymore!

So, I immediately said, “Ling Xue, move back a few steps.  Pull the monster back by itself and we’ll work together to kill it!”

Ling Xue understood and nodded with a smile.  The move speed she had as she moved back was enough to pull the Beast Riding Corpse Knight over.

Like this, Ling Yue and I spread out and attacked the Beast Riding Corpse Knight with one on the left and one on the right, while Purple Rhyme kept healing Ling Xue’s HP.  Then she used a skill reducing curse on the Corpse Knight and a layer of purple light surrounded the fierce monster as its movement speed was reduced by quite a bit.

The most important thing was that Purple Rhyme’s curse also reduced the Corpse Knight’s defense.  Not only did this make it easier for me and Ling Yue, even Ling Xue could deal over a thousand points of damage to the Corpse Knight!

Although this method of killing monsters was cautious, it was not slow, especially after Purple Rhyme cast her curse.  The Beast Riding Corpse Knight seemed to have around ten thousand HP, so when I used my fourth armour piercing arrow, I saw that Corpse Knight gave a pitiful cry as it fell with its mount and dropped several gold coins!

I looked clearly and found that it really was several gold coins which was very rare.  An Enhanced Monster was really generous, dropping several gold coins at once.  This had never been seen before.

In the end, the three beautiful girls all said that this monster was too disgusting, so the job of picking up the gold coins fell onto me.  I kneeled down and kicked aside the bones of the Beast Riding Corpse Knight, then I placed the gold coins into my inventory.  On the other side, with Ling Yue’s instructions, Purple Rhyme had used her curse to draw in another Beast Riding Corpse Knight.  The three beautiful girls once again went on a violent rampage.

I immediately walked over and released an armour piercing arrow.  When I released my second armour piercing arrow, I found that Ling Xue had already killed the Beast Riding Corpse Knight with her Sweeping Away Ten Thousand Soldiers!

“Pada!”

Not only did gold coins drop, this time there was also a glowing blue bracer that dropped to the ground.
