Chapter 106: Frozen Heart

While I was immersed in their loving story, Ronin turned to look at me and I was shocked.  This is bad, he wants to pull me in!

Great Priest Ronin went to an empty spot and raised his white jade staff, as a six starred magic array appeared under our feet.  With Ronin in the center, the magic array exploded with light and tore through the clouds, letting all those near and far see it!

I guess that all the Chinese players in Sunset City should be able to see this light soaring into the sky.

After the array was released, Great Priest Ronin stood in the middle and said in a determined voice, “Decades ago, I traveled to the peak of the continent and found the divine expert, God Class Ming Lan.  She gave me a secret technique to share my life with others.  If I could choose, I would live with Linda, even if it was for a day…..”

On the side, the five magicians were all shocked as they quickly said, “Master!  How could you……”

Ronin revealed a faint smile and raised his staff, pushing the magicians away.

Princess Linda’s smile was like a blooming flower and although she was crying, it seemed like she was happy.

When Ronin took Linda, he said to me in a deep voice, “Young warrior, please kill me within ten minutes.  My blood will be molded into a body using the secret technique.  Don’t be afraid, I definitely won’t die……”

I was stunned before saying, “You won’t die even cut up to pieces?”

Ronin couldn’t help smiling.  He pointed at his heart and said, “Use your sharp blade to pierce my heart!”

I hesitated a bit, but Linda said with a smile, “Do it!  I believe Ronin, he is the most outstanding magician on the continent!”

I was speechless.  I came forward and with a glow of the Bloodthirsty Spear, I used the Sweeping Away Thousand Soldiers on Ronin’s chest, creating two damage figures.

“876!”

I was a bit surprised!  Ronin’s defenses were so strong, he really was the great priest!

With Ronin and Linda’s consent, I kept using skills and attacking without stop.  Ronin closed his eyes as he held Linda’s small hands, just silently accepting it all.

Mages were weak to begin with and in less than five minutes, Ronin’s HP finally reached the bottom!

“Puchi!”

With tiny ice debris, the Ice Wind Thorn stabbed right into Ronin’s chest and created a large splash of blood!

At the same time, I felt a powerful force as I was completely blown away!

“Putong!”

I landed on my butt over ten meters away.  When I stood up while rubbing my waist, I found that Ronin’s body inside the magic array was changing!  He looked up at the sky and instantly, his body was torn into shreds and he scattered into light starting from his head!

As the light dance, the magic array trembled and like it would shake the earth, it seemed like it was changing all of Sunset City!

As the light scattered, it gathered again.  With wisps of spiritual energy, in the blink of an eye, Princess Linda’s body was reformed by Ronin, gradually gaining the colour of blood.  Beside her, a second body was being reformed, it was actually Great Priest Ronin!

But Ronin was much younger after reforming his body, as his beard had disappeared and he became a middle aged man who was in his forties!

Ten minutes later, the light scattered and Ronin and Linda appeared in front of me holding hands.  The five magicians were stunned as they muttered, “Too amazing, there’s actually such a secret technique!”

“Ding~!”

System notification: Congratulations, you have completed the quest [Sharing Life].  You have received 50000 experience, 50 silver coins, and 10 prestige.

Seeing this quest reward, I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.  This really was a quest with zero difficulty!

But Ronin and Linda came in front of me.  Linda was holding Ronin’s hand as she said with a faint smile, “Young warrior, it’s thanks to you that we could be together again.  Although I don’t know how long this will last, I’m already satisfied.  To show my gratitude, please accept this……”

I was a bit surprised.  Could it be the real quest reward was coming?  Although this quest wasn’t difficult, it was quite arduous and scared me half to death, so the reward shouldn’t be bad, right?

I shot out an armour piercing arrow and a “1204” appeared above the Skeleton Demon’s head.  This was considered not bad, it had broken most of the armour!

The Skeleton Demon angrily roared as it wielded its spear and it was covered in a blood red glow as it was already charging at me!

I quickly toko out the Bloodthirsty Spear and it was covered in a blue glow.  The ice danced as the Ice Wind Thorn stabbed right into the Skeleton Demon’s chest!

“1471!”

This high 1400 damage made me happy.  The Dragon Whisperer Job was a close range combat Job, so it was quite strong when it came to dueling!

I released a Sweeping Away Thousand Soldiers and with two slashes, the spear created a mark on the Skeleton Demon, while also dealing close to 2000 damage!

With this, at first contact, the Skeleton Demon had lost half its HP, which was enough to prove that my attack power far surpassed my level.  After all, I was only level 33 and this Skeleton Demon was 13 levels higher, as well as being an Enhanced Monster.

That Skeleton Demon attacked and the spear hit my armour, but each hit only dealt around two hundred damage.  With each attack, I just needed to use a potion and it wasn’t hard to resist.

“Hua la!”

With another Ice Wind Thorn and another Sweeping Away Thousand Soldiers from me, the Skeleton Demon turned into a pile of bones and dropped two gold coins!

I laughed as I picked up the gold coins and then turned to my experience bar.  I was surprised to find that the Skeleton Demon gave good experience, increasing by bar by 1%!

So I quickly made up my mind.  I would kill these Skeleton Demons tonight and I should be able to reach level 38!

Fighting the Skeleton Demons alone surprised the players nearby, but looking at my equipment, they understood.  Although the stats of the Dark Set and the Bloodthirsty Spear weren’t that high, they looked quite good.  Adding in the fact that I hid my level and name, everyone thought that I wasn an expert.

When I was killing monsters, I heard a sound and a system notification: Your friend Purple Rhyme has logged on!

Before I could even react, Purple Rhyme directly called me.
