Chapter 139: White Bone Wilderness

“Kacha!”

There was a sturdy branch that cracked under me before I slammed into the ground!

Pain filled my body.  When I looked up, I found that there were many branches and leaves, so I couldn’t see the people above me and they also couldn’t see me.  However, I could hear the proud voices coming from above with laughter, “This kid must have shattered to pieces after falling down, we avenged the boss!  We’ll get a reward when we get back!”

A few minutes later, there wasn’t any sounds from above.

Ha, ha, I finally escaped.  I quickly took a look at the sword that Bloodthirsty World dropped!

Happily opening my bag, I found that glowing sword and its stats jumped out.

Un, it was considered not bad, it could be considered a high class piece of equipment.  This Wind Slashing Sword’s attack was a bit higher than Ling Xue’s Golden Light Flow Sword, but the additional stat was too low.  It only increased attack power by 5% while Ling Xue’s Light Flow Sword increased it by 25%.

Thinking about it, I would give it to Bing Cha after getting back.  She was missing a high attack power weapon.

After slowly filling up my HP, I realized that the area around me wasn’t as bad as I thought.  There was an open field in the forest ahead of me.

There weren’t any mobs or NPCs around and I went forward for a long time brandishing the spear.  There were cliffs on both sides, so I couldn’t climb down.  When I was planning on going back to the city, the forest in front of me started to wither!

The green leaves faded and the valley gradually turned the colour of ashes.  Outside the valley was an ancient and giant door that had a dense cold aura that filled the air, making people feel apprehensive!

When I stepped on the corroded ground, I found that the map had turned to “Dark Gate”!

I was filled with joy, this was it!  In the patch notes, the White Bone Wilderness was in the Dark Gates!

But what surprised me was that there was a small human camp outside of the Dark Gates.  The human soldiers stood around the camp holding their halberds, as if they were guarding the Dark Gate!

I didn’t care that much as I headed to the Dark Gate, but when I came close, I was pushed back by a powerful force!  It seemed like I really had to head over to the human soldier NPCs!

So when I came close, one of the human soldiers immediately asked in a surprised voice, “I never thought that a Sunset City adventurer would find this place.  Young man, what is your name?”

I was shocked, asking for my name?

“That, I’m Liu De Hua……”

“Oh, ok.”  The NPC was fooled by me, but he still said, “You must be searching for the secret of the Dark Gate to come here, or is it for the treasure in the White Bone Wilderness?”

I had nothing to say, it should be both!

To be honest, just give a quest if you want, I really didn’t want to waste words with a NPC like this!

As if he could see the anger in my eyes, the leader of the NPC soldiers said, “No matter what, you have to go through a trial to go through the Dark Gates!”

I was a bit surprised, “Trial?”

The other side nodded, “Yes.  Kill a hundred hungry tigers to the west and you can obtain the proof of the trial from us, which will also give you the right to enter the Dark Gates!”

The quest difficulty wasn’t that high, it seemed quite easy.  It should just be to test a player’s ability to keep themselves safe.

I headed to the west and found some tigers in the forest on a small hill, which were the hungry tigers I had to kill.  These tigers were all skinny like they hadn’t eaten in a hundred years, so their names weren’t wrong.

I directly used my Star Eyes and the stats of the tigers jumped out.

I couldn’t help smiling.  It was no wonder the difficulty was only 150, the stats of the monsters were only like this.  Their 550 attack couldn’t break my 740 defense and they only had 185 defense, so how could they match my 1245 damage!

So I headed forward and hit a tiger on the butt with the Sweeping Away Thousand Soldiers!

The high level skill almost instantly killed the mob with the two consecutive hits and then I released a normal attack, causing this level 55 mob to die right away!

On the quest screen, there was a line that appeared.  Monsters killed: 1/100.

Un, it would be done with another 99!

I didn’t have any scruples facing these mobs that I could instantly kill.  Anyway, they couldn’t break my defenses, so I could just throw all my skills at them.

It was hard to accept how slow it was, it actually took half an hour to kill a hundred tigers before the system gave the notification that I could hand in the quest!

I immediately headed back to the camp and talked to the leader about the quest before a ding sound rang out.

Opening my inventory, I saw a thin piece of magic paper inside.

[Entrance Document] (White Bone Wilderness): Can be used to enter the White Bone Wilderness.  After entering, this document will vanish automatically!

Seeing these words, I was a bit speechless.  It took me half an hour just to get the right to enter the White Bone Wilderness.  This quest really wasn’t satisfying, but speaking of this, if one had to pay a large price to enter the White Bone Wilderness, this leveling map shouldn’t be that simple!

With the document in hand, I headed towards the Dark Gates.  When I entered, the magic power of the pass in my hand activated and suddenly I was sent into the wilderness that had been sealed for a long time!

With a white light, I appeared on a new map that had the name White Bone Wilderness!

In the boundless wilderness, mist filled the air.  Not far away in front of me was an inscription tablet that had been here for a long time!

When I took a look, the inscription on the tablet jumped out.

White Bone Wilderness, a main city for the humans in the past has now turned into the wild.  The armies of hell tore all lives in this place to shred ten years ago.  When stepping on the White Bone Wilderness, one will find shredded armour and weapons, as well as humans who couldn’t resist death that were ripped to pieces, showing the cruelty of war.  Most of the bones had been buried over the years and many strange plants have grown in these White Bone Wilderness.  Other than this, there are some hungry ghosts wandering around and the Dark Gate surrounding the wilderness.

Looking forward, I found that the White Bone Wilderness was overgrown with weeds.  There was only a high level skeleton wandering around the land with a sword in hand.

With the Star Eyes, the stats of the high level skeleton warrior were completely revealed.

I couldn’t help being a bit surprised.  This elite monster’s attack power was this high!  It actually reached 820, which could break my defenses without a doubt.  Moreover, this skeleton warrior’s defenses were low.  Although 400 defense couldn’t block my attacks, it could block most of the damage.  It was a good thing that this monster only had high attack and not that much HP.  This 25000 HP was not a problem for me.

So I changed to the Star Chasing Bow and shot out an armour piercing arrow at the skeleton warrior, dealing a high 1477 points of damage.  Un, my attack was less than 1000 with the star chasing bow, otherwise with the armour piercing arrow’s ability to ignore defenses, it would have dealt at least 2500 damage!

After the skeleton got hurt, it immediately charged forward wielding its sword.  It was hit with my ice arrow about halfway, but this elite monster was fast and appeared in front of me in the blink of an eye, slashing down at me with its sword!

This damage wasn’t considered high, but it made me a bit surprised.  My defense was considered quite high right now, the Fearless Chestplate increased my defenses by 255.  It had to be known that most people at level 40 with heavy armour only had around 100 defense, so my defense was able to make most knights feel inferior.

With a flick of the Roaring Flame Spear, the Sweeping Away Thousand Soldiers and Ice Wind Thorn combo flew out!

The Sweeping Away Thousand Soldiers hit twice and the Ice Wind Thorn’s single target attack was much stronger!

Quickly taking two steps back, I avoided the skeleton’s sword.  It was hard enough to enter the White Bone Wilderness, so I didn’t want to waste all my potions.  This time, I had to level up twice just to get back the price of the entrance ticket!

When the elite skeleton approached again, I used the Whirlwind Slash and the Shield Break Slash.  The Roaring Flame Spear was covered in a golden light as it pierced through the skeleton’s chest!

It had to be said, the Shield Break Slash that I learned from the Dragon Whisperer job instructor really was overwhelming.  It could be considered my strongest attack skill and it was only at intermediate level, so it would be even stronger after reaching high level!

The skeleton was petrified by my attack at this time.  The effects of the Petrifying Necklace really gave people a pleasant surprise!

Seeing the layer of stone appear around the skeleton, I swept out with the Roaring Flame spear without any hesitation, but this time it only dealt less than 200 damage.  I was a bit surprised before suddenly understanding what happened.  When petrified, the monster’s defenses increased by three times, so the current skeleton’s defenses reached 1600 and I couldn’t break it with my 1245 attack power.

So I quickly took two steps back and raised the Roaring Flame Spear as flames surrounded me.

“Roaring Flame Soaring Dragon!”

With a loud sound, the red flame dragon went from the ground and instantly swallowed the elite skeleton.  The stone was burnt fire red and my heart burned even just by watching it!

The Roaring Flame Soaring Dragon was a magic attack, so it wasn’t limited like physical attacks and the damage was still high!

After the petrifying effect was gone, I used all my skills once again.  When I used the second Roaring Flame Soaring Dragon, this level 70 elite monster finally fell with a wail!

Killing an elite monster that was 20 levels higher, I could clearly see my experience bar filling up!

It only took less than three minutes to kill this monster, so it was much faster to level here than in the Hero Memorial Park!

I was filled with joy as I went forward to pick up the loot of the Wilderness Wanderer, which was a bunch of gold coins and a leather helmet.

Counting them, there were over 50 gold coins.  With the current exchange rate of around 1:1.5, this meant that the elite monster had dropped 75 RMB for me, which was enough to buy a plate of delicious pickled fish!

Looking at the leather helmet, I saw that it was a completely black helmet, but there were some magic inscriptions that were hard to see, as well as a faint glow.  It was clear that this helmet wasn’t a normal item.

I couldn’t help laughing!  This was a good thing!  A level 45 leather helmet was what assassin players needed right now and it was part of a set of silver equipment.  Once I could get the full set, I would definitely earn a bunch of money!

Looking up, I saw a bunch of elite skeletons walking around the White Bone Wilderness, but in my eyes, they definitely weren’t just simple monsters.  I almost felt like they were money bills floating in the sky, beckoning to me.

“Di~!”

Ling Xue sent a message, “Little fool, I heard that you fought with Bloodthirsty?  How did it go?  Did you kill that idiot Bloodthirsty World?”

I immediately replied with a smile, “I killed several of them, including Bloodthirsty World.  But there were too many of them and too many magic attacks, so I couldn’t handle it alone and escaped by myself.  I’m leveling up right now.”

Ling Xue sent a smiley, “Good luck!  Come with me to get some ingredients to make bread tonight~”

I was surprised.  Ingredients to make bread?  I didn’t know what that little beaty Ling Xue was trying to do.  Forget it, I’ll think about it after I focus on leveling up with the elite monsters here!

“Pa!”

With a glow from the Star Chasing Bow, another armour piercing arrow flew out and hit the armour of another elite skeleton.
