Chapter 120: Undead captain

When Ling Yue entered the second floor, she immediately suggested, “Bookworm, let’s use our AoE skills to quickly kill them!  Xue’er and Bing Cha can block the attacks of the monsters!”

Ling Xue and Bing Cha happily nodded.  The two girls separated, one right and one left with Purple Rhyme standing in the right position, wielding the Great Earth Staff, prepared to use her heal at any time.

I changed to the Star Chasing Bow and sent out the Thousand Bladed Arrows.  With my 756 attack with the bow, I didn’t care about the 200 defense of the Dark Throwers at all.  With a round of arrows raining down, there were damage figures that appeared above the head of the monsters which were all over 1000!

Purple Rhyme couldn’t help being surprised, “Bookworm’s attack is so strong……”

Ling Yue’s mouth also dropped, “Good fellow, you deal even more damage than my Scarlet Flame Sea!  Bookworm, you really are abnormal!”

I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry, “Ling Yue, are you praising me or insulting me?”

Ling Yue revealed a faint smile, “Nonsense, of course I’m praising you!”

Quiet Rain Fall on the side didn’t have a AoE skill, so she could only focus the group of mobs with her fire arrow.  Zi Yue kept running away, but there was no other choice since if the assassin went in, she might be instantly killed.  As for Summer, she summoned out her little wolf who after being killed several times, she was too lazy to summon again and ran away with Zi Yue.

Ling Xue was at the front of the party, already charging into the mobs.  She swept out with her Light Flow Sword, sending out the Water Moon Slash to take a chunk of HP from the surrounding monsters.  This high damage without a doubt gave her the most aggro, so the Dark Throwers all threw their iron spears at her, almost turning this little beauty into a porcupine.

It was a good thing that Ling Xue’s defense could be considered an iron wall and she had a very high attack.  With Purple Rhyme’s focus, Ling Xue easily killed the mobs.

Five minutes later, the first batch of mobs fell to the ground and my experience bar flew up, as it kept jumping.  Killing a bunch of Elite Monsters was so good for leveling that normal players could never imagine it.

On the second floor, we spent half an hour to clear out the Dark Throwers.  During this short period of time, I went up a level, going from level 43 98% to level 44 45%.  It was so fast that it made one unable to believe it!

When we cleared the field, the fourteen pieces of Bronze Equipment were taken by Ling Yue.  She said with a smile, “We’ll sell all of these and they’ll be used as operating expenses for the studio.  Does anyone have any objections?”

Of course the girls of the studio didn’t object, but Purple Rhyme awkwardly stood on the side.  Zi Yue was the one to say, “How about big sister Purple Rhyme also join Xue Yue!”

Purple Rhyme was surprised and a trace of hope flashed in her eyes, but she shook her head with a smile, “This, forget it.  I’m more used to living alone and if I went there, I might disturb you…..”

Ling Yue said, “Since it’s like this, we’ll talk about this in the future!  Yi, where’s the boss for this floor?  Is there not one?”

When Ling Yue’s voice fell, the wooden cabin door in front of us exploded.  There was a wolf fang club that came out and the owner of this was a tall savage with muscles all over, with only a piece of fur covering him.  That wolf fang club created gusts of wind as it was swung around.

When I shared the stats of the boss in the team chat, Ling Yue’s expression couldn’t help freezing as she said, “Everyone, be careful!  This boss’ attack is quite high!”

Ling Xue nodded before charging over.  The Light Flow Sword slashed out three times, but Ling Xue’s petite figure was small in front of the bass, only being able to reach the boss’ knee and cut at its calves.

The boss swung its club around, hitting Ling Xue in the shoulder.  The little beauty was sent flying and her HP dropped by over 1000 points!

I immediately came forward and swung out with the Bloodthirsty Spear!  With the Sweeping Away Thousand Soldiers, there was the petrifying effect that was triggered!

“Ding~!”

Combat notification: Your attack has caused a petrifying effect.  The target Warhammer Ripper has been petrified and is unable to attack or move, with defense increasing by 300%.  This will last 30 seconds!

I was filled with joy as I sent out an Ice Wind Thorn, but I was disappointed to find that the Ice Wind Thorn only dealt 300 points of damage!  It couldn’t break its defenses at all!

Damn!  Although the petrified state made them unable to move, it also greatly increased their defenses!  This Ripper’s defense right now was already close to 1000!

But, not matter how high their defense was, they couldn’t block magic attacks.  When Ling Yue sent out her fire dragon, she dealt close to 4000 points of damage!

If it wasn’t for the fire dragon’s long 15 second cooldown, Ling Yue would have been invincible.

The third floor, when I came out of the stairs, the surrounding area gradually became bright because of other players entering.

I pointed in front of us, “There.  There’s only this large space, where do you think the boss can be?”

In the direction I was pointing, there was lamb meat hanging out to dry.  Under the wool was a dried corpse, lying on an iron box without moving.

Ling Xue said, “Is the boss the skewers of lamb meat?”

I nodded as I imagined a lamb skewer with the name “Deep Red Lamb Skewer” attacking us.

At this time, Ling Yue and the rest also came down.  Seeing Ling Xue and I watching the dried lamb meat, Ling Yue couldn’t help saying, “You two…..”

Ling Xue said, “Big sister, how long has it been since we’ve gone to that roast meat store for lamb meat?”

Ling Yue was surprised, “Half a month.  You want to go?”

With a cold glow, the dried corpse brandished its hand.  Its right hand was completely gone, being replaced with a shining bloody hook, like the hook that butchers used to hang slaughtered pigs.

The girls all had pale faces from being scared and Bing Cha softly said, “Bookworm, be careful……”

My legs almost gave out under me in fright, but I quickly looked over the boss’ stats with my Star Eyes.

[Undead Captain Hawk] (Dark Gold Boss)

Level: 70

Attack: 750-920

Defense: 450

HP: 850000

Additional skill: Bloodthirst berserk

When I shared the boss’ stats, Ling Yue was shocked, “God, it’s actually a Dark Gold Boss.  This 920 attack is too terrifying, everyone be careful or you might be instant killed!  Xue’er, Bookworm, go!”

Ling Xue had a difficult look on her face, “This is too disgusting, can I not go?”

Ling Yue was speechless, “If you are cruel enough to let Bookworm be punished alone, you can not go…..”

During this, I really was beaten down by the boss.

“Keng!  Ca!”

With these two sounds, the boss started left and right, hitting me across the chest from left and right.  The iron hook on his right hand didn’t forget to stab me, creating a burning pain!

I gritted my teeth and sent out a Sweeping Away Thousand Soldiers and an Ice Wind Thorn together!

What I never would have imagined was that these two skills would only deal less than 2000 damage.  The 450 defense really was too high for my close range attack!

I changed my skills to give it a test.  There was a flash of golden light that gathered at the head of the spear, stabbing into the boss’ chest with the Shield Break Slash.  A part of the armour broke and a “1347” appeared above the boss’ head.

I couldn’t help being surprised, could it be that the Shield Break Slash decreased defense?

Being filled with joy, I didn’t pull back the spear as I seized this chance to use a Whirlwind Slash.  Wind gathered around me and the Bloodthirsty Spear slashed out with white wind, also hitting the chestplate of the boss.  Only the flesh of the Undead Captain was already withered, so this attack from me exposed its bones to everyone.

“Wu, wu, wu……”

Ling Xue who charged forward covered her mouth and retreated in fear.

I couldn’t help smiling, “Che!  You’re actually afraid…..”

Ling Xue was incited by me and immediately stuck out her chest with pride, “I…..I’m not afraid!”

After saying this, Ling Xue closed her eyes and sent out a Water Moon Slash.

I was shocked, “Little miss, hit the boss, not me!”

It was a good thing that Ling Xue had team mode on, so she couldn’t hurt me.  If it was that idiot Zi Yue, I would have already been sent back to the city.

Looking at the withered flesh and bone on the chest of the boss, I explained to Ling Xue, “Don’t be afraid, the boss is actually quite handsome.  As for the pieces of meat falling off, just treat it as meat floss…...”

“Ah!?  Meat floss?”  Ling Xue looked at me, “This really is disgusting……”

But Ling Xue still decided to fight because she knew that my defense wasn’t enough to fight the boss.  I was also depressed since if I could use the Fearless Chestplate at level 45, I definitely wouldn’t be in such a bad situation!

Bing Cha came forward and used a Sweeping Away Thousand Soldiers.  Then she lost half her HP from a single slash from the boat, causing her to retreat in fear.

Purple Rhyme kept using her heal, but she couldn’t control this situation at all.  It was like this Undead Captain was going crazy and with his powerful attack, our team only had Ling Xue who could be considered a meat shield.

“Keng, keng!”

The Undead Captain swept out twice with his sword and Ling Xue was pushed back.

When I went forward to help, I found that the boss already expected this.  The bloody hook dug into my chest and being dragged by my armour, I was thrown to the right!

“Kuang!”

With this loud sound, wood scattered all around.  I found that I had broken through the back of the cabin and had found myself in another bright cabin!

“Bookworm, are you alright?”

Bing Cha came forward to push back the broken wooden boards and leaned over to ask me this.
