Virtual World: Conquering the World Chapter 34

A cold wind blew, making it impossible for people not to shiver.

The Ancient Ghost Tomb’s second floor had the same layout as the first floor, but the monsters were bigger this time.  Not that far in front of us was an impressive and fit warrior.  He had a set of silver armour on and there was a tiger print on his chest plate.

Ling Xue said, “Pull one over!”

I immediately shot out an ice arrow and the warrior turned over, but Ling Xue screamed when she saw its face.

The skin of the warrior was already withered, almost completely dried.  It had pitch black eye sockets and dark teeth, just like a dried corpse, but it moved very quickly and gripped a long and black spear in its hand!

Additional Information:  These warriors devastated by their deaths over the years have already turned into servants of darkness.  They only have one single belief in their heart which is to protect their master.

These were enhanced monsters!

I immediately shared the monsters stats with Ling Xue and she immediately revealed a joyful smile as she said, “Little fool, we’ve hit the jackpot this time.  I’ve heard that the stats of enhanced monsters are only a little higher than normal monsters, but they give double the experience!”

I revealed a faint smile, “Since it’s like this, should we begin?”

Who knew that Ling Xue would reveal a faint frown and gently say, “Wu, wu~~But he looks so disgusting, what should we do?”

I was speechless, but I still said, “No need to fear.  With me here, are you still afraid of him eating you?”

Ling Xue pursed her lips into a gentle smile and said, “Alright, then I’ll just treat it as looking at the KFC old man!”

[TL Note: Ya I was curious about this, but it did say KFC old man in the raw…..]

I rolled my eyes, at a loss at her absurd thoughts, but this Spirit Warrior was a bit like that old man.  Especially that beard around his chin.

Raising my bow, I shot an armor piercing arrow in the Spirit Warrior’s chest.  It suddenly trembled and its HP decreased by 578 points.  It was still a decent amount of damage, so we could still level here.

Ling Xue ran forward as the sword in her hand swept across, sending out the swordsman basic skill: Sweeping Away Thousand Soldiers!

“123!”

“131!”

With two “dang, dang” sounds, two damage figures appeared above the Spirit Warrior’s head.  Ling Xue couldn’t help complaining, “Wu, wu~~my attack really is too low.  Little fool, you’re not allowed to laugh at me!”

I quickly swallowed down my laughter as I said in serious voice, “Your defense is still quite good!”

Indeed Ling Xue had a very high defense already.  The Spirit Warrior’s 350 attack could only barely break through her defense.  Ling Xue’s equipment were not low grade and it could be seen that these equipment must have come from Ling Yue.  After all, Ling Yue was the number one mage and must have earned quite a pieces of equipment.  There was no doubt that she would save the best Bronze Equipment that she farmed for Ling Xue.

Originally I wanted to test out the Thousand Blade Arrows skill, but this was not an appropriate place.  Ling Xue had a strong defense, that was limited to a single monster.  If we wanted to pull more in, we would need a cleric for healing.

The intermediate level armour piercing arrow had a much stronger attack.  After a few arrows, the Spirit Warrior gave a pitiful cry and fell onto the ground as he dropped 1 gold coin!

I rubbed my eyes and confirmed that it was indeed a gold coin.  This wasn’t even a boss monster and it could still drop a gold coin.  Although it was just 1 gold coin, it was still enough to make me feel grateful.

“Ya!  So much experience!”

Ling Xue was even more pleasantly surprised as she joyfully looked at her experience bar.

She was a master that only wanted equipments and not gold coins, so she gave the gold coin to me.  She smiled and said, “The current exchange rate is 1:5, so one gold coin is worth 5 RMB!”

I happily picked up the five dollars of the ground.  At this moment, Ling Xue had already pulled in another Spirit Warrior, so I continued to fight.  It was a good thing that I prepared quite a few iron arrows and potions, so I could fight for quite a while.  Perhaps, we could really get Ling Xue to level 30!

Time passed slowly, but I was not aware of it at all.  Four hours passed by as I continued to kill monsters while chatting with Ling Xue.  I learned that Ling Xue was studying in the Su Da campus nearby.  She was currently using her school’s network to play «Spirit of Grief», so it was very normal for her to experience periods of lag because China Telecom was sometimes very bad.

Sometime while we were leveling, Ling Yue logged on and sent me a message, “Was your dinner good?”

I replied, “It was alright.”

She said, “You can come to work two hours late tomorrow, no need to worry about the rules too much.  I will take care of the monthly attendance for you!”

I happily replied, “Then much thanks Director Ling!”

Ling Yue sent a smiley face and said, “You keep going, I need to level too.  Perhaps I’ll be going to work later than you tomorrow!”

Not long passed and Purple Rhyme also logged on and sent me a message, “I feel so full……”

I felt awkward, so I just replied, “I feel the same……”

She giggled and replied with two “hee, hee”.

After a few minutes, Zi Yue also logged on and messaged me, “Bookworm, help elder sister level up!”

I replied, “Maybe later, I’m leveling with a beautiful girl right now!”

“Which beautiful girl?  Is it the director or Summer?”

I looked at me friends list and saw that Summer was not logged in, so I said, “Take a guess!”

Zi Yue was speechless, “I can’t guess……”

After a few minutes with a “ding dong” sound, I received a system notification.  Your friend “Last Year’s Summer” has logged on!

Without me making a move, Summer had already messaged me, “Bookworm, help elder sister level!  I can’t go with Zi Yue anymore, the way she acts is too stupid!”  

I firmly declined, “I won’t.  Without a good place, I won’t bring you!”

Summer immediately gave a charming smile, “How about elder sister let you have a rub tomorrow at work?”

I said, “You don’t have any good places to rub anyway.  It would be better for me to rub the fat manager of the marketing department……”

Summer revealed a charming anger, “Bookworm, you’re so bad!  I’ll ignore you from now on…..”

Naturally I wasn’t worried at all.  If she ignored me, Summer would feel very uncomfortable.  She was a kindhearted girl that rarely held onto grudges.

Turning off my communications, Ling Xue sheathed her sword.  She turned around to look at me as she smiled and said, “Little fool, you have such a bad smile, what are you doing?”

I quickly shook my head, “Nothing much, I’m just messaging Bing Cha and the others.  Just fostering some a sense of camaraderie!”

Ling Xue pursed her lips as she gently laughed, “He, he, I actually have been a part of Xue Yue Studio for a while now~”

“Yi, really?”  I asked in a surprised voice.

Ling Xue immediately revealed a smile as she said, “Of course.  Did you not notice that the name Xue Yue Studio actually came from my elder sister and my name!  How about I go to the Blue Star Square tomorrow and come see you there?”

My heart skipped a beat as I said, “Of course there isn’t a problem!”

What joke.  The Blue Star Group’s little princess was visiting a normal worker like me, of course I wouldn’t have a problem!

Who would have thought that Ling Xue would giggle and say, “I can’t, I still have a final exam tomorrow on Maoism!  I have to wait until after my exams…...Forget it, let’s wait until summer vacation.  I’ll go and work there!”

I was a little disappointed, “Alright.  How many days before your summer vacation?”

“Today is June 20th, so what do you think?”

As soon as her voice fell, a Spirit Warrior fell dead onto the ground, dropping a gold coin and several silver coins with a hua la sound, as well as a helmet.  But the most surprising thing was that a golden light fell onto Ling Xue’s beautiful figure and she reached level 30!

Ling Xue revealed a faint smile and spread her snow white little had at me, “Little fool, where is the pleasant surprise you had for me?”
