"Hey, kid! Calm down will you? You are so tense! This isn't the first time you saw a skeleton right? You even fought a horde of them earlier, why so tense in a single skeleton that is not moving? You should have been afraid earlier!"

I immediately calmed down . "Sorry, I was just surprised . I did not expect to find something buried in these books . "

I crouched and inspected the skeleton . Despite being in the cave and the passage earlier is dark, when I entered the area, the lamps that seem to be old fashioned lit up . I just noticed that function earlier because I was immediately pushed by the seed to look for the treasure . With that, this place is bright enough for me to notice intricate things that are present on the corpse .

The skeleton is wearing a mage robe that seems to be tailored to fit in with the modern world because instead of a robe with kind of sagely or magical aura on it, it looks more similar to a jacket with a hoodie . The only difference is that this jacket is currently embroidered with Arcane Words and patterns that seem to make this jacket more powerful . Anyone who wears this robe would look like wearing a jacket, perfect for blending on the public while keeping the protection intact on your body .

This skeleton is a male based on his clothing and the length of hair on the floor that dropped off after his death . I checked a bit of his body and got something hard on his chest . When I inspected it, it was a knife embedded in his rib cage . The knife has intricate patterns and a crystal with blue color attached to its hilt . The intricate patterns too look a lot similar to the Jacket's arcane writing which means that this weapon is also something used in magic spells . So here is the question, did this guy die from the dagger? The answer is no .

I might not be an expert in crimes but I know a thing or two on it . The knife was stabbed on this guy's ribcage but the problem is that it's not the one that stabbed his heart to death because he didn't die in the stabbing but died in some sort of magic . I can still sense in his skeleton the magic covering his bones . It was the reason . Now for the dagger, it was used when the attacker is unsure that the user is dead so he decided to use a dagger to stab him on the chest which missed his mark . Still, he managed to kill this poor guy easily .

Despite the knife being embedded on the corpse for a very long time, the blade of the knife does not even have a single rust on it . You might even mistake it for a brand new knife but in reality, it's already old . I admired the knife a bit and inspected the blade . Although I am not sure how many years this knife exist but one thing is sure, this knife is made from a very good material that it didn't even get rusted .

I tested the knife's sharpness . If this knife looks good but its sharpness is just weak and can't even cut anything, it would be just a worthless knife . Since it looked sharp, I think I can carve something using its tip . Grabbing the nearby table, I put the blade on the table . But before I can even put a single force on the knife, the table was split in half .  

"Huh? Why did it split into two?" I inspected the table, checking if this table is already split in half or if it is just too weak . However, the table appears to be sturdy and hard . The edge of the table split in half is clean and finely cut . The cut is also recent that I doubt that it was already split when I grabbed it . Then this knife is the cause? I doubt it though because a knife can't split a table easily . Therefore, I decided to test it on a new table . I inspected it first and made sure that the table is not broken or has a single defect .

When I have made sure that the table is fine and sturdy, I pull out the knife once more and put the blade of the knife to the table . But what is so magical about it is that just like the table earlier, this same table that I have made sure to be sturdy enough was also split in half .

"What the f*ck?!"

The table was cut cleanly which is very weird .

"Lil' Blue, is this the treasure that you are talking about?" I asked as I showed the knife out .

"Kid, you need to work that eye of yours in spotting treasures . The way you did is just finding a lesser treasure . Look a bit more, that is not what we are looking for . "

What? Seriously? A knife that can split tables like butter is not a treasure? Well, if this is not the treasure, then I will keep it . Beside the corpse is a sheath with the same intricate patterns on it . It was the sheath of the knife . When I am done keeping the knife, I look a bit more into the corpse . If that knife is not the treasure there must be something else in this corpse . While searching, I decided to ask the seed a question that has been bugging me for quite some time .

"Hey, let me ask something . How did you find this piece of information from? Is it from the chief? I am not some graverobber you know? And besides, doing things like this might cause me to be cursed by this dead guy . Are you sure it is okay to loot this corpse?"

"There is no problem, that corpse's soul is in our possession already . And from his memories, he doesn't use any curse magic so you can relax that his possessions are safe to take . "

"Oh, I see . . . wait, what?! How did you end up a soul I never absorbed before? Are you the one who killed this man?"

I am not convinced though but with the fact that the seed can't manifest physically in the real world, I think the seed is stating the truth .

"Then how come the soul of this guy is in our property? I didn't see this guy die and I have not absorbed any soul related to him at all!"

"I just found this out when you devoured the soul of the chief . The soul of this guy is a soul that the chief absorbed when he became an Abyssal Demon . When the chief died, the soul was not yet devoured so when you absorbed the soul of the chief, this soul is among the souls you devoured . It was like a two in one package . "

Scary as it can be, I would be fighting enemies similar to the chief in the future . Now that I know that the demons might be able to do, I have to get stronger as soon as possible . After a few more searches, I found something on the abdomen part of the skeleton . It was a sort of necklace with a chain string and a red orb attached to it . I grab the necklace and carefully inspect it but as soon as my hands get to hold the necklace, the seed quickly interrupted me .

"Yes! That is the one! That is the treasure!"
