Chat Group For Magicians 110 Battle Against the Abyssal Demon

The said Abyssal Demon approached and revealed it's hideous appearance to us. Despite that, I can still recognize who the heck this person is because I made sure to remember his face. Although his face right now became much more hideous, his old face cannot be hidden easily. 

"The Chief!" I exclaimed.

Hearing this, when she is done the blessing, she quickly faces the Abyssal Demon without hesitation.

The Abyssal Demon that was the chief before is now standing with his horrendous appearance. He has horns in his head, his mouth is no longer in horizontal form but in vertical form which makes him more horrifying to look. His white skin earlier had turned into violet and his clothes are now replaced with scales that I guess would be hard like metal plates or much harder than that. He has wings in his back that look similar to a bat and his hands are already full of claws so sharp and what is weird, his hands rotate like buzzsaw which makes his hand deadlier. If we attack blindly, we would be easily killed by this guy. I can't believe I would be fighting a monster once again.

"Heh, so do you all like my new looks? It's much more suitable for me who wanted to get powerful enough. I don't even need the Elemental Pixie to conquer the world, I, myself can conquer the world! And you humans, who pushed us elves to the brink of extinction would be the first people to experience the pain that you all would receive."

I clicked my tongue in annoyance. "You are just a blabbermouth."

I swipe my hands in the air and flames appeared again. Now that I have done it without clapping my hands together. I feel the urge to shout "Flame On!" The flames were all red this time rather than the blue blazing ones. I did not bother to use the blue flame because efficiency-wise, the red flames are much easier to use and it doesn't drain too much mana while the Blue Flames consume a lot of mana even by just hurling a single blue fireball. Their only difference is that the Blue ones are much more destructive than the red ones.

The Abyssal Demon version of the chief did not bat an eye on me. His eyes locked on Miya and Catmod. It seems that he is much more alert from the two than on me. Maybe because now that he is an Abyssal Demon, he can sense that my magic power is not enough to deal enough damage to him right now. It's understandable since I am still weak enough. It's barely a month since I became a magician. I would even call it a miracle that I am still alive despite the troubles and dangers I was in during the time I was a freshman.

Without further talk, the chief disappeared from his position, only a few blurs can be caught in the naked eye. Catmod on the other hand also lunges forward before his figure disappeared too and appears like a blur. I move beside Miya and ask her a question.

"Can you track their movements at all?"

Miya nodded while she clenches her fists.

"Yes. It takes a bit of concentration but it's easy to track them once you get stronger like on the level of Maple and Nekoyama."

I sighed in disappointment and turn off the flames on my hand. I wanted to see the fight but I guess I would only be seeing sparks and blurs for now.

Catmod swipes his claws out and give out a slash that is also accompanied by the sharp waves, shaped like claws towards the chief. The Chief was also fast enough that he just blocks them off by using his rotating hands.

"Impressive that you can block off an attack like that but don't think I can only do a small attack like that!" Catmod shouted and unleashed a torrent of rotating wind blades towards the Chief.

The chief slams both his palms and a gush of dark energy envelopes his body. As soon as the air blades hit the dark energy that is enveloping the Chief, it ended up becoming just a mere wind. Catmod grinned seeing his attacks failed to even do a penetrative damage.

"I like it! This is what I want! A challenge from an individual that can be on spar with me!" Catmod said and unleashed another series of blades made of wind to the chief.

Smirking, the chief dashed forward once more and faces the wind blades head-on. He didn't clash on it using his head but he swiped them off by moving the rotating hands of his to the winds. Just like that, the wind blades dispersed. But the Chief demon did not expect something to occur.

"Ha! You are way too early to say you can beat me!" and gives a dropkick to the Chief who was caught off guard.

BOOM!

His body was sent flying down, straight to the ground with a force that causes a small crater to appear on the ground where the Chief landed. The smoke slowly dissipated in the crater before another blur lunges upward to Catmod who is still in mid-air after the attack. The chief is also agile and as soon as his figure arrived on Catmod, he released a strong violet beam from his mouth which made Catmod in the air to get defensive than to attack. Unfortunately, Catmod is a second-bit too late as the beam hit Catmod on his arm.

But since it's just a graze, it did not really send Catmod flying. Catmod step backward and look at his wound. The wound is deep and a few of his flesh was burnt completely.

"Stop being distracted to other things, cat, this is a battle of life and death!"

Catmod jump backward but the sharp rotating hands of the Chief managed to swipe through him and graze his cheek. Blood flows out of his cheek like a pitcher overflowing with water. Catmod noticed it immediately and grinned.

"I see, so that was an attack that can inflict severe bleeding even in a small graze like that. However, that is not enough to defeat me!"

Catmod stomps his foot on the ground and a strong gust of wind blows on the surroundings. Even the chief has to block the wind so that he won't be sent flying once again.

"Hear me, o sprites of the wind, bring destruction and despair in your path! Bladed Gust!"

Although at first, the battle is very hard to follow, with my intense concentration, I managed to follow them in glimpses. At long last, they finally managed to slow down. I was surprised at first when Catmod were sent back, luckily, it did not occur similar to the first attack that Catmod give to the Chief that made the latter to form a crater on the ground.

Miya's ears twitched while watching at the battle. She quickly pulled me away from the location and moved away as far as possible.

"Ah! What are you doing? We need to help Nekoyama right now!"

Miya did not stop until we are far enough distance but enough to see the two fighting each other on the distance.

"I doubt he needs our help. We would just end up becoming a hindrance to the battle."

Before I can ask what caused her to act like that, I saw Catmod stomp his right foot on the ground and clasp his paws together while muttering something I have no idea what he is babbling because we are far away.

But then, a strong wind started blowing which made me stunned. The feeling of the wind is very similar to the Airball that Catmod used during the battle against the undead but I doubt it was the same because the way Catmod unleashed this skill is under 2 minutes duration, unlike the power he used to produce a hurricane. Does that mean this is another skill that involves wind?

"Kazuma! Grab something strong! Don't let yourself get caught in the air! Grab something sturdy or you will end up dying from that gust!" Miya shouted as she clung on a root of a tree not too far from my position.
