Chapter 43 . 2: First round, garnering attention

The grey robed old man finally looked up and looked at Duanmu Xi .

The moment he saw her, he was stunned .

He didn’t expect that it would be such a young girl . She looked to be only fifteen or sixteen years old . This child definitely had a promising future .

“Passed . Please wait for the second test . ”

The voice of the grey robed old man clearly showed a bit of appreciation and the expression on his face was softer .

As these had all fallen within her expectations so she was not overly excited and simply stood there calmly and waited for the next round of tests .

In order to avoid trouble, she had deliberately hidden all the other elements but even so, it still garnered a lot of attention .

This calmness of Duanmu Xi had made the grey robed old man appreciate her even more . At  such a young and she was so humble, such temperament was very rare .

Duanmu Xi was the last one to take the test for Alchemy . After the test, the grey robed old man did not leave, but waited for white robed old man to end .

After a while, the white robed old man also finished the first round of tests .

Because the second test for Alchemy and Armament Refining was the same, it was a test of mental strength, so the two old men brought the people who passed the first test into Sacred Gold Academy .

On the Alchemy side, there were only a total of six people including Duanmu Xi . There weren’t that many of them for armament refinement as well, only slightly more than ten .

The entire bunch of people followed the two Elders to come into a room . The room wasn’t too brightly lit and it was only after they reached the deepest end of the room that they came to see a smooth black stone wall .

The white robed old man then swept his gaze over everyone .

“This is where we will be conducting the second test . All of you will merely have to infuse your mental powers into the Heaven’s Origin stone wall here and the Heaven’s Origin stone wall will indicate the strength of your mental powers . The prerequisite for armament refinement is five stars and Alchemy is six stars . Begin . ”

The white robed old man’s voice had just dropped when over ten people who had already made it past the initial test self consciously lined themselves up before him, coming up to take the test one after another .

It took only a short while for those ten over people to finish their tests and only seven made it through, with the highest score attaining just seven stars .

After armament refinement was Alchemy, and Duanmu Xi was last in the queue .

The first five people finished their test very quickly and only two of them passed out of those five, with three eliminated .

When it was Duanmu Xi’s turn right at the very end, there was finally a reaction from the grey robed old man, his eyes filled with anticipation as he turned to look .

Duanmu Xi did not know if her mental strength was up to the required standard so she did not hide her powers this time round .

She placed her hand upon the black stone wall and gathered up all her mental powers, and then slowly infused it into the black stone wall .

As her mental powers continued to flow out incessantly, the stars on the Heaven’s Origin stone wall then lit up one by one .

One star, two stars… . . Eight stars, nine stars… . .

Everyone stared at the star grading climb non stop and they were so astounded their jaws almost fell to the ground .

[What is happening here?]

[Nine stars and it’s still climbing! Seems like the young lady is going to reach ten stars!]

The star grading finally reached the ten stars but it did not seem to have ended .

The Heaven’s Origin stone wall then started to show a reaction, as the jet black suddenly gave off a brilliant white light, so blinding they all could not open their eyes .

When Duanmu Xi saw what was happening she quickly pulled her hand away from the wall .

[What is going on? She had merely just focused her mental powers and infused it into the black stone wall, but in the next instant she had felt the black stone wall starting to absorb her powers, which gave her quite a shock . ]

[What kind of a dumb stone wall is this?]

[To think that it will absorb a person’s mental powers . That’s really evil . But all those people who took the test before her seems to be completely fine though . ]

After the white light faded away, everyone still had not recovered their senses . They had never ever seen anyone attain the ten star grade before .
