Chapter 40 . 2: Contented Having Him In This Life 

Si Yun Han’s fervent gaze was fixated on Duanmu Xi who was seated above on the jade deck, and his eyes were hazed with infatuation .

After three long years, he finally saw her again .

Duanmu Xi looked at the various performances of song and dance beneath without showing any interest at all .

She didn’t like such occasions, and what she disliked even more was all the fawning gazes from those other men sitting below .

As today was her coming of age ceremony and this banquet was specially prepared for her, Xuanyuan Mo did not sit next to her .

She turned her gaze and looked at Xuanyuan Mo who was seated not too far away . When she saw that he was downing his wine, cup after cup, and not once did he even cast her a single glance, a sudden feeling of annoyance welled up from within .

She quietly left the Phoenix Ceremonial Palace and came to the Imperial Garden .

When she turned back and saw the entourage of palace attendants following her, she frowned immediately and said curtly, “You are all dismissed . ”

When they heard the icy tone in her voice, the palace attendants did not dare to even look up at her and after they bowed, they retreated to a distance in an orderly manner .

After the palace attendants left, the Imperial Garden became quiet immediately, however it was so quiet that she began to feel lonely .

She raised her head and looked up at the vast sky full of stars wistfully as a gentle glint sparkled in her eyes .

Grandfather, was he doing well?

Five years, she had been away from her grandfather for five years already .

Five years may not be a big deal for her, but for an old man like her grandfather, how long was five years to him and how long more could he wait?

Her grandfather has too much time waiting in his life . Her father asked him to wait for twelve years and although her grandfather passed those twelve years bitterly, at least she could still be by his side then but now, who could accompany him? 

When Xuanyuan Mo looked towards the jade deck and discovered that Duanmu Xi’s seat was empty, he scowled and immediately put his wine cup down and briskly left the Phoenix Ceremonial Palace .

Only after searching for awhile did he finally find her in the Imperial Garden . Just as he wanted to open his mouth to call out to her, he saw a man walk towards her .

It’s him?

The man that sat opposite three years ago .

“Your Royal Highness . ”

When she heard his voice, Duanmu Xi returned to her senses .

Looking at the man before her, Duanmu Xi felt that he was familiar but she could not remember where she had met him before .

Si Yun Han saw her looking at him as if he was a stranger, he pursed his lips into a straight line and he could only smile wryly .

“Your Highness, do you really not remember Yun Han?”

His voice was filled with resentfulness and sadness .

Duanmu Xi frowned and looked at Si Yun Han in a serious manner, trying hard to place his face in her memories .

It’s him!

The man who sat next to Duanmu Qing three years ago .

“Is Your Highness still angry with Yun Han?” Seeing that Duanmu Xi did not speak, Si Yun Han asked in an apprehensive manner, his heart beating faster with each passing moment .

Angry?

What did he mean?

Duanmu Xi looked once again at Si Yun Han .
