Underdog Versus Boss Chapter 39

Everyone were shaken by the conviction in Da Tian Ting’s tone of voice. They watched her walk out the door, and suspected something wasn’t right.

Da Ming Sheng knew she had to control the situation.

‘Uncle Shang, aunty Lam, big sister is gone,’ Da Ming Sheng said. ‘I’ve forgiven big sister, and I hope everyone can forgive big sister too.’

Da Ming Sheng didn’t want to burn her arm for nothing. She would say anything to make everyone stay on her side.

‘Ming Sheng, you don’t need to be so understanding,’ Lam Shu Pan said. ‘No one would hold a pot of hot water for fun. We believe you.’

Lam Shu Pan’s bit of suspicion disappeared. She believed Da Tian Ting did pour hot water on Ming Sheng’s arm.

‘Aunty Lam, uncle Shang, I don’t blame big sister,’ Da Ming Sheng said. ‘Big sister loved Duan Hua for ten years, and overnight her world changed. I can understand why big sister took revenge on me. I only hope big sister will forgive me.’

Da Ming Sheng was happy Shang Ming and Lam Shu Pan chose to believe her. It would make her married life with Shang Duan Hua smoother. Da Tian Ting couldn’t blame her for protecting her own happiness. Da Ming Sheng felt no remorse for destroying Shang Ming and Lam Shu Pan’s bond with Da Tian Ting. Da Ming Sheng would be a fool if she didn’t hold onto her happiness.

Shang Duan Hua could finally let go of Da Tian Ting. No one forced Da Tian Ting to take care of him for ten years. He didn’t need to feel guilty toward Da Tian Ting.

‘Dad, are you ready to accept me marrying Ming Sheng?’ Shang Duan Hua asked.

‘What is there to oppose?’ Lam Shu Pan interrupted. ‘Ming Sheng is a good woman. Duan Hua is lucky to marry Ming Sheng.’

Da Ming Sheng waited for Shang Ming to give his blessing. Shang Ming was the head of the Shang Household. If Shang Ming gave his blessing, it cemented her position in the Shang Household.

‘These days the world belongs to the young generation,’ Shang Ming said. ‘Duan Hua and Ming Sheng can make their own choices.’

‘Dad, thank you for your blessing,’ Shang Duan Hua said.

Da Ming Sheng secretly rejoiced. In the future she only needed to be a good wife to Shang Duan Hua, and live a good life. She didn’t care if she was selfish, and didn’t care what would happen to Da Tian Ting.
