Feng Kai Ze took Da Tian Ting back to the apartment hotel. She showered, changed clothes and sat in front of the vanity table. She felt like the day was a nightmare.

‘That’s not right!’ Da Tian Ting said to the mirror.

‘What’s not right?’ Feng Kai Ze asked.

Feng Kai Ze walked into Da Tian Ting’s bedroom to comfort her after her ordeal, and he heard her mumbling to herself.

Da Tian Ting stood, turned around and pointed a finger at Feng Kai Ze’s face.

‘Feng Kai Ze, confess,’ Da Tian Ting said. ‘Did you force my former workplace to fire me, and stopped other companies from hiring me?’

‘Yes,’ Feng Kai Ze said.

‘Feng Kai Ze, how can you say you love me by making me jobless?’ Da Tian Ting asked.

‘Hey,’ Feng Kai Ze said. ‘It’s you who ran to work when you were recovering after falling into a lake. Besides, if you’re still working at Tian Chen’s company, you’ll be embarrassed to have me pursue you during work hours.’

‘Why are you so unreasonable?’ Da Tian Ting asked.

‘If it’s got to do with us being together, nothing is unreasonable,’ Feng Kai Ze said.

‘If you want us to be together, you can’t interfere with my job hunting again,’ Da Tian Ting negotiated.

Feng Kai Ze hugged Da Tian Ting and smiled at her.

‘You’re job right now is focusing on being my girlfriend and strengthening our bond,’ Feng Kai Ze said.

‘How can you consider it a legitimate job?’ Da Tian Ting asked.

Da Tian Ting felt Feng Kai Ze was hiding many secrets from her. What if one day he disappeared without warning? She was falling in love with him more each day. If that day happened, how would her heart heal?

‘Tell me what you consider a legitimate job?’ Feng Kai Ze asked.

‘A job that pays money,’ Da Tian Ting said. ‘I don’t live for money. I only want to work to make a living enough to support myself and I’m happy.’

‘I love your straight forwardness,’ Feng Kai Ze said.

‘Don’t change the topic,’ Da Tian Ting said.

‘If your job is to find money then I’ll find money to give to you and you’ll be happy,’ Feng Kai Ze said.

‘It’s not the same,’ Da Tian Ting said. ‘Your money is your money. My money is my money.’

‘I told you, I only find money for you to spend,’ Feng Kai Ze said.

‘I can’t reason with you,’ Da Tian Ting said.

‘You don’t need to job hunt,’ Feng Kai Ze said. ‘Whatever job you’ll find, you’ll be treated like a slave.’

‘But…’ Da Tian Ting said.

Da Tian Ting thought Feng Kai Ze was partially right. She didn’t have a career ambition. She was happy to work any job to make a living.

‘I’m going to give you fifty percent of Hong Shi’s company shares and you’ll be their biggest shareholder,’ Feng Kai Ze said.

‘Trust me that everything I do is for us to be together,’ Feng Kai Ze said. ‘I only want to give you a happy life.’

‘If you love on me this much, aren’t you scared I’ll sit on your head?’ Da Tian Ting asked.

‘I don’t mind if you sit on me head,’ Feng Kai Ze said.

Feng Kai Ze stared at Da Tian Ting’s lips.

‘Why are you staring at me?’ Da Tian Ting asked. ‘You’re making me feel shy.’

‘Because you’re beautiful,’ Feng Kai Ze said.

Da Tian Ting closed her eyes, and anticipated Feng Kai Ze’s kiss.

When Feng Kai Ze’s lips almost touched Da Tian Ting’s lips, someone knocked on the front door.

Feng Kai Ze went to open the front door to meet the unlucky person who interrupted him kissing Da Tian Ting.

An anxious concierge stood behind the front door.

‘Sir, madam, you need to leave right now,’ the concierge said. ‘Your lives are at peril.’

‘Peril?’ Feng Kai Ze asked. ‘Why?’

‘Sir, you offended Mac Kai An,’ the concierge said. ‘She’s back with a big wig to take revenge on you and your girlfriend. Come with me quickly, I’ll take you two to escape through the back entrance.’

The concierge helped Da Tian Ting pack her belongings into her suitcase. She couldn’t believe after dealing with the Hong Shi Chi pig, Mac Kai An returned with vengeance.

‘It’s OK,’ Feng Kai Ze said. ‘I want to see what she wants to do.’

Feng Kai Ze held Da Tian Ting’s hand, and they walked to the lobby together. His strong hand helped ease her anxiety. Besides, she knew his real identity. It was Mac Kai An who should be scared of him.

The concierge helplessly followed the two foolish guests to the lobby.
