Feng Kai Ze was frustrated he couldn’t find Da Tian Ting. He read her diary to calm himself.

Feng Kai Ze closed Da Tian Ting’s diary, and peered at the lonely sea under the moonlight.

A Ferrari braked a centimetre from the front of Feng Kai Ze’s car.

The driver of the Ferrari opened Feng Kai Ze’s passenger door, and casually sat in his car.

‘Why did you call me to meet you in the middle of the night?’ the man asked.

‘What do you think?’ Feng Kai Ze asked.

‘You wouldn’t risk meeting me unless it’s something dangerous,’ the man said. ‘Tell me, what’s the problem?’

‘Ju Feng, I found her,’ Feng Kai Ze said.

‘You found the owner of the diary?’ Ju Feng asked.

‘Yes,’ Feng Kai Ze said.

‘Kai Ze, I know the owner of the diary is important to you,’ Ju Feng said. ‘But she means nothing to me. Don’t risk everything over a trivial matter. You could have called me over the phone to tell me you found her.’

‘But I lost her again,’ Feng Kai Ze said.

‘Then go find her,’ Ju Feng said. ‘You’ve been looking for her over a decade, what’s another two years looking for her?’

‘Right now, not seeing her for a day makes me depressed,’ Feng Kai Ze said. ‘If it takes me another year or two, I’ll go crazy.’

‘You’re the heir of Feng’s company, use your status to find her,’ Ju Feng said. ‘You know what she looks like, put an ad in the paper and you’ll find her soon.’

‘I won’t use my status as Feng’s company’s heir again,’ Feng Kai Ze said. ‘And I don’t want to post photos of her everywhere, because it’ll put her life in danger.’

‘Young master Feng, you’re asking me to find a needle at the bottom of the ocean,’ Ju Feng said. ‘If you want my help, I’ll do a search to look for anyone named Da Tian Ting who is staying at a hotel or renting a home.’

‘I was waiting for you to make that offer,’ Feng Kai Ze said.

‘You made me lose my sleep tonight,’ Ju Feng said. ‘What do I get for finding her?’

‘Tell me what you want,’ Feng Kai Ze said.

‘I’ll tell you after I think about what I want from you,’ Ju Feng said.

‘Thank you,’ Feng Kai Ze said.

‘Kai Ze, right now thirty percent of Feng’s company shares are in our hands,’ Ju Feng said. ‘What’s the next step? I heard you’re marrying Hong Shi Na.’

‘Do you think I would marry her?’ Feng Kai Ze asked.

‘I’ve known you for more than a decade,’ Ju Feng said. ‘You only have your fierce apple in your heart. Listen to me, be careful of the Hong snake.’

‘Hong Shi Na, isn’t a gentle princess,’ Feng Kai Ze said. ‘I know she’s a snake. I don’t want to waste my breath talking about her. Thirty percent isn’t enough. We need at least fifty percent. See if you can find other people who want to sell their shares to you.’

‘I found some people who will sell,’ Ju Feng said. ‘Don’t lose sight of our bigger picture by only focusing all your attention to pursue your fierce apple.’

Feng Kai Ze watched Ju Feng’s fingers worked their magic on Ju Feng’s laptop. Feng Kai Ze was only interested to see if Da Tian Ting’s name popped up on the screen.

‘Kai Ze, I know you’re not someone who neglects achieving your goals because of one woman,’ Ju Feng said.

‘Since you know, keep moving your fingers to look for her,’ Feng Kai Ze said.

Ju Feng’s fingers continued looking for Da Tian Ting.

‘Kai Ze, Feng Jia Yong will force you to marry Hong Shi Na,’ Ju Feng said.

‘No one can force me to do something I don’t want to do,’ Feng Kai Ze said.

‘Does that mean you’ll cut ties with your father?’ Ju Feng asked.

‘If he cared about our father and son relationship then he wouldn’t selfishly sacrifice me,’ Feng Kai Ze said. ‘What’s taking you so long? Why haven’t you found her?’

‘Your expectations are too high,’ Ju Feng said. ‘It’s not guaranteed she can be found.’

Feng Kai Ze didn’t want to resort to posting Da Tian Ting’s photos everywhere.

‘I found her!’ Ju Feng said.

‘Where?’ Feng Kai Ze asked.

‘Yesterday there’s a woman named Da Tian Ting with a social security number xxxx,’ Ju Feng said. ‘She rented a home in a country town xxxx.’

‘It’s her,’ Feng Kai Ze said.

Feng Kai Ze was happy he finally found Da Tian Ting. He should have looked for her in her father’s hometown where they went to primary school together.

‘Kai Ze, don’t tell me you want to go there,’ Ju Feng said.

‘If I don’t go there, how else will I get my wife back?’ Feng Kai Ze asked.

‘Feng Jia Yong would have blacklisted you from crossing the city boarders,’ Ju Feng said. ‘He won’t let you leave the city unless you marry Hong Shi Na.’

‘I don’t need to use my name,’ Feng Kai Ze said.

‘True,’ Ju Feng said. ‘You can use your other identity, Hao Ming.’

‘Get out of my car so I can go bring my wife home,’ Feng Kai Ze said.

‘Hey,’ Ju Feng said. ‘Do you have to be this blunt?’

Ju Feng was the only person in the world who knew about Feng Kai Ze’s double identity.

‘If you don’t get out, I’ll throw you out,’ Feng Kai Ze said.

‘Kai Ze, you’ve turned into a man who prioritizes his flower over his friend,’ Ju Feng said. ‘Remember to be careful, someone is investigating Hao Ming’s identity. Go find your fierce apple, I’m going home to sleep.’

Ju Feng got out of Feng Kai Ze’s car, and went back to his Ferrari.

Feng Kai Ze sped off to bring his wife home.
