The Evolving Stealth System Chapter 8: Demon Fallout

Duncan had not yet adjusted to his wings, and used summon skeleton causing the phoenix bone soldier to appear.

When it did appear, it seemed like a different skeleton to Duncan, but it was attacked immediately by the skeleton bats as the remnants of the egg oozed behind them.

The phoenix bone soldier had a much higher attack power at level 4 then Duncan did, and it took three hits from the skeleton bats leaving it with little health. Hence, he flapped his nonworking wings down the hallway causing the skeleton bats to split up from each other.

The hallway was dark...

He didn't really have eyes, but he still knew the way to go...

This having eyes, but not seeing was a gift of skeletons, and was called dark sight... As it was his first time in a cave, he realized this ability didn't mean you could see in the dark, and he tripped over a rock and he had no idea where he was going.

[Ding! Phoenix Bone Soldier has returned to host after being killed...]

[Host cannot summon the Phoenix Bone Soldier for an additional ten minutes since he was killed in battle, however, the same limitations do not go for the flesh worm...]

Duncan nodded his head as he kept running, and soon finally saw light at the end of the tunnel. The one skeleton bat behind him was still chasing him, but luckily he heard a large "putok" sound, and it corresponded perfectly with the death of the Phoenix Bone soldier...

He then jumped out of that hole, and spread his wings realizing he didn't know how to fly...

This must have been what every bird feels when they first spread their wings and try to fly out the nest.

Actually, he was well aware that some birds died when they tried to fly, or a predator would come eat them. In fact, he was dealing with both situations as an angered and vehement skeleton bat tried to eat him.

Whoosh!

He tried to flutter his wings, and luckily the momentum from his failed attempt resulted in a dodged mandible attack.

Whoooosh!

The second time he flapped his wings, he felt a little air try and support him from falling, but then the third time happened.

Whoooooosh!

Duncan tried to fly again, and his wings somehow kept him from crashing into the floor. As for the skeleton bat behind him, it attacked his back before he burst into hundreds of bones!

[Ding! Host has entered into critical state... Currently it is recommended that host pretend to be dead...]

He was a skeleton... how could he pretend to be dead?

What did this mean for him, and would the skeleton bat be smart enough to figure out why his nickname was actor?

When he was first introduced into the training camp, it was extremely hard and difficult to become a spy... However, he earned the nickname Actor for his complicated personality... When he took on the role of a spy, he was extremely smart, talented, and the best man for this job...

Yet, if the pressure wasn't high enough, or he wasn't acting the role of a spy, he'd do stupid things like ask out that beautiful girl in his infiltration class. Luckily, he ended up dating her, and they became girlfriend and boyfriend when he was at the academy...

If he could see her now, the most he would of her would be a skeleton, and he closed his eyes trying to avoid having a flashback, but alas there she was... as pretty as the day she died...

"Duncan, you're out of your mind! I can't just go with you to your parents house..." He asked her out on the last day of academy during the dark season on his planet.

Since the galactic devil kings, and the other nefarious races were always hunting for the last twenty strongholds , most of the world was dark throughout the year. Of course, in order to grow crops they had to risk exposure to the sun, and he happened to want her show her the day in this world...

To describe his world as a kid was extremely beautiful, and everyone else on his planets extremely depressing... He was a video game playing teenager that had to plow the machines once a year, and he wanted to show this to her.

Surprisingly, 'Actor' surprised the heck out of everyone in his class, and became the first cultivator to officially ask out Nyla without being turned down. She simply always wished to visit a farm, and sure enough Actor succeeded in wooing her.

They went on missions together, of course, he wouldn't be here if she was still alive, and her death was the most tragic part of his life.

This was even more tragic then the aforementioned death of his sister, which he could only witness as a seven year old child. This was caused by something called a demon fallout, and it was when he met his first cultivator...

Hence, as a bone skull that was extremely useless at this point, the skeleton bat left him to his thoughts as a few bone soldiers walked by examining his body parts.

It was true that most skeletons would die as just skulls, and the skeleton bat went to go mourn.

The skeleton bats already thought they had their revenge, and immediately began looking for materials for their eggs again... This was the circle of life, and he summoned the phoenix bone soldier to go beat up those skeletons ten minutes later...

[Ding! Congratulations! Host has been successfully rebuilt by the phoenix bone skeleton... However, hosts attack power has decreased to 280 / 600 because of a few stolen bones...]

The skeletons indeed took a few of his fingers, and luckily he still had his gold tooth. After patting the phoenix bone soldier on the head, he began trying to adjust to his wings....

Luckily, now his speed had increased to 125 miles an hour...

He also felt a little bit less inclined to do something so stupid again... as the fate of humanity was on his shoulders, which only one of was fully intact after the impact.

With his new wings, he began flying after the arrow as he looked down at a few of the battles below...

If he was lucky, the wind would be behind him, and he would be able to make it to that hut the system redirected the arrow towards...
