The Evolving Stealth System Chapter 33: Complications

"Well… there's good news and bad news…" Enna pat Duncan on the shoulder, and he said "bad news" as he sat down…

"Hmmm… the bad news is your wanted by every assassination association, and that they drew a really horribly accurate picture of you…" The picture was already down on the table, and this was an easy problem…

So, he just had to evolve… "Good news?"

"The good news is we have a few new recruits coming, and most of them are joining the sect because your famous, Duran...!"

Duncan dropped his jaw, and began hearing the sounds of footsteps…

They were definitely going to try and kill him…

However, Enna didn't convey that tone in her voice, and she could just kill them, so… wait… how did they draw such a bad picture!

Looking down, it looked like an extremely ugly zombie was there!

He knew he looked better than this, and Enna started laughing as Phoenix ran to the gate to greet the new visitors…

"Heh! It looks just like you Duran! They must have used a divination expert to get a drawing this exact, and the richest warlord is coming after you!"

"I heard about him this week, and don't worry… you're under my complete protection!"

Duncan wanted to feel assured, but then the new 'recruits' walked into the room, and they all cheered as Phoenix brought out the grum…

It smelled absolutely delicious, and Enna left him alone with hundreds of goblins!

What the hell?

How was this protecting him?

She just brought an army, and he had a bounty on his head!

He looked down and began to like the picture before one goblin flew into his table…

Cling!

Three goblins began fighting at this moment, and Duncan watched another fly into a bar stool in the inns corner bar…

However, he then looked out the window bar to his side and saw Enna staring up at the sky with eyes of longing… It made sense to get up and leave, but sure enough… one goblin bowed in front of him as he tried to escape…

"Sire… we are the rebel goblins of the north, and… YOU'RE AWESOME!"

He began kowtowing, and Duncan felt an extreme sense of danger…

"System… do you think he's telling the truth?"

[Ding! System doesn't have any data on the lower ranked goblin tribes, but system doesn't sense anything suspicious in the energy waves of the goblin…]

"So… you're saying I should trust him?" Duncan looked down at the goblin, and the rest of the goblins were bowing…

"Nothing, seriously?"

The system ignored him again, and he couldn't believe he was really going to trust this goblin…

"So… you want to join the sect?" Duncan watched the goblins bow a few more times.

"Yes! We hate the Vernal Warlord! He made us his slaves, but we escaped because he started a war in your name!"

"Hence, we'll do chores for you, and are horrible at fighting in wars!"

Duncan smiled, and nodded his head not daring to believe it…

In just one moment, that little goblin would try and attack him…

However, it seemed like a long moment…

"Okay, well… welcome to the sect! Free rooms and food for everyone!" He kept waiting for it, and then they jumped with joy and reverie…

This was not what he expected, and sure enough… Phoenix seemed to be making friends with one of the goblins over a round of drinks…

It was blood…

Netherworld creatures loved blood, and seeing them drink blood alcohol he let his guard down…

Surely, if they wished to kill him, it would be before the drinks…

Hence, they began having a good time, and finally he escaped to go see Enna…

"Is everything alright, Enna?" Duncan pat her on the shoulder, and her eyes were turning from red to blue and then back to red…

She looked at him with those eyes, and the sound of goblins cheering echoed in the background…

It was too loud, and then Enna pushed away his arm…

"You… you should stay away from me when my eyes change color, Duran… okay my ugly monster?"

She pat him on the head, and she flew off into the sky….

[Ding! Enna seems to have developed complications to the ancestral transformation, and her trust level has gone up to 50%]

[She's now considered hosts friend, and will protect him as long as the ancestral transformation doesn't destroy her body and soul…]
