The Evolving Stealth System Chapter 44: Aquatic Massacre, Part 2

A few hours later after leaving the little island Duncan had arrived near the bottom of the sea...

Duncan spotted a glowing series of lights on the bottom of that dark, rotting sea, and the system confirmed he really saw a bandwagon...

[Ding! Host is approaching one water demon imp caravan on the ocean floor, and Phoenix has finally sent host a message after two days…]

"Okay… save the message for later… we finally found some water demon imps, system…"

[Host is recommended to look at message first because human lives are involved, and Phoenix appears to have ninety six days until a spell system is fully activated in the palace according to reports...]

"What… what's a spell system…" Duncan gracefully landed behind the floating black light sea horses guarding the merchant imps' goods, and… he remembered another time he ambushed a caravan…

It was during his graduation ceremony trials at the royal academy, and Nyla ended up being the prisoner he had to save from the opposing team's caravan to graduate…

He fought hard, and proposed to her after saving her in front of the entire class…

He remembered Jeeva's face because she looked so shocked and happy to hear his proposal... She didn't even know they were dating, and after that day never forgot to send them on missions together into the outer reaches of space...

They were always dangerous but vital missions they went on to save humanity, and she told him sorry over and over again on various lunch outings...

She'd come over and cook for him, but he'd never let her stay...

Her feelings of remorse for Nyla's death seemed so genuine, and... he finally chose her as the person to sacrifice him to activate the system for this mission...

He now was here, though, and Bernie and Alberta began making a racket startling the sea horses causing the riders to chase them in a panic…

[Ding! A spell system is similar to an array according to database files, however, it can be used for immolation of souls and sacrificing to higher power demon gods.. So, it appears the 2000 humans will be used to bolster Phoenix's power to a higher level…]

[Host has 96 days, 23 hours, and 15 minutes before the spell array will be fully completed… However, system will reward more ES points, and increase the rewards for the mission if host completes mission in less than 5 days…]

"So… is there any reason Phoenix didn't contact me directly?"

[Host must be aware that Phoenix was spotted last time during chat acting strangely, and extreme caution is being taken to make sure he doesn't have a bad reaction to the starlight elixers…]

"What…" Duncan drew the black monarch sword from his scabbard, and activated blade shadow and death possession…

The imps turned towards him, and Bernie and Alberta tossed out bombs Duncan gave them from his system…

The bombs fell underneath their feet, and they looked puzzled as Duncan charged right into the blasts range…

[Ding! Death possession has negated the Icarus Venom Bomb damage, and host has gained 8000 experience for killing three demon water imps…]

[Ding! Host has gained 8 /25 strands of demon water imp blood, and host has sliced off the head of one Water demon imp…]

[Ding! Host has activated corpse explosion!]

Booooom!

A few imp heads floated into the air, and Duncan recalled an old conquest mission in one of his old pc games...

When Duncan used to play video games, the necromancer class from the netherworlds became the strongest class because of this copied move of necromancers…

Who didn't love corpse explosion?

When he used to play the netherworld slaughter game series, before they were banned by the government on his home planet, he never imagined he'd be able to do this in real life…

He felt a craving to explode more corpses as Bernie and Alberta and Wormy exploded…

He talked to them about this first, and… they appeared to be okay with it…

Duncan leveled up one more time, and he gained 25 / 25 water demon imp strands of blood…

However, if he evolved right now his power level would be reduced by 1000, and… he became surrounded by 10 bloodied demon imps…

A few of them were limping…

Wormy's body floated up towards the surface as fish ate his remains happily…

This worm had been hunting them for days, and finally they got to eat him!

[Ding! Host has cancelled the demon imp strands, and… host is right in desiring to find catalyst before current transformation… According to system, there is a nearby inheritance ground, and system is redirecting arrow towards inheritance ground…]

[Would host like to accept the mission, invade the water lords tower?]

"Yes!" Duncan backflipped onto the sand, and the ten demons swam towards another bomb he threw out into the air…

They knew this wasn't good, and their lives blew up in their faces…

It didn't even get a chance to flash because their guts spread across the floor…

[Ding! Host has acquired 45 / 25 strands of the demon water imp bloodline… However, host is reminded to be careful while entering into the merchants sea wagon…]

"System… trust me… I can see a trap from miles away…"

He had been trained well, after all, and cut a few strings on the sea wagon before the curtain dropped…

A few needles would've skewered him if he didn't cut the needles, and Wormy appeared back in front of him clearly shaken…

"Sorry… I won't use corpse explosion on you very much… wormy…"

The little guy seemed saddened but knew it was part of the plan…

As for Alberta and Bernie, they just wished to level up to support their master… They'd reached level 15 each, and… they went to go munch on the sea horses' flesh because it looked delicious…

Nothing like aquatic flesh, and Duncan only had 3 bombs left for raids like these…

He walked up into the sea band wagon, and the merchant owner held up his hands and a white flag…

Obviously, Duncan didn't give a rats ass about this flag, and… the merchant began bowing and groveling at his feet…

[Hernan appears to have used a catalyst before, and killing him will result in host being able to keep his wings and also he seems to be carting around human remains…]

[Most likely these were going to be supplemental bodies for the spell system, and host appears to be doubting system's words…]

"Wait system… It's time for a little interrogation…" Duncan cracked his knuckles as the man in the regal robe fell down on his knees…

Alberta and Bernie tied him up to the ceiling, and Duncan cut off one of his fingers…

"So… we can do this the easy way, or the hard way…"

The man didn't even know what Duncan was talking about, but soon a few body parts of humans of various sizes floated in front of his face…

One of them appeared to be from a beautiful lady, and the mans head bounced off the wall over and over again...

"Tell me about who's in charge of the water royal palace, and I'll let you live..." Obviously, this was a lie, but the man literally told him everything he knew, and Wormy hid a small creature he found in the corner...
