The Evolving Stealth System Chapter 20: Second Evolution, Moonlight Zombie

A few days after the battle started...

Duncan began glowing with a bright light, and witnessing this were the bodies of zombies…

Duncan and Phoenix had been fishing for zombies for 10 days, and becoming a zombie would finally grant him skin…

For months, all he felt was nothing on his bones…

It was hard to describe, but now he'd at least feel sagging skin, and melting flesh…

"Yes, I wish to transform into a Moonlight Acrid Zombie!" The light began glowing brighter and brighter around him, and Phoenix dropped his skull with depression…

He watched his master start glowing, and suddenly he felt small.

For days, he was stronger then his master, but around zombies he'd be weak and powerless….

What about his evolution?

It was completely unfair!

How could he serve his master well without skin on his bones…

Looking down, part of him knew some skeletons couldn't evolve…

However, he was of the light element, so he at least would get his elemental transformation sometime, and then a bright light alerted all the zombies towards them…

[Host has also unlocked new feature… Monster Manual - all data on monsters is kept in the monster manual, so host may return to any previous form…]

A book appeared in Duncan's vision, and sure enough moonlight skeletons were intelligent at night…

With the vomit sky above him, he was sure this land didn't seemingly care if it was night or day…

However, there was a small moon in the sky, and something marched to the beat of a nightmare closing in on his location…

"Ugh! UGGGGGH!" A huge level 15 zombie that smelled like death approached him…

Haha! He could smell as a zombie, but what he felt weird being pointed at..

"Yooouuuu! What happened to Encarta! He… he went to check on the other nine!" Duncan smiled… at least they were dumb, right?

"Sir! He… he tripped and died! Look! They all tripped and died!" Duncan pointed him to the bodies of zombies, and the zombie lord pushed him away form the hole.

"Hmph! Stay away from holes! Now, it is time to march back to base!" The Zombie Lord ordered the rest of the troops to stay away from the hole, and sure enough… he was already accepted into the horde…

There was thousands of them…

For miles, all there marched was zombies, and he no longer could use his wings…

There was limitations to every form, and as a zombie, he'd need to find a flying zombie to get wings, so he kept marching at a slow pace…

He sort of trudged actually…

On and on, they went towards the moon, and every once in a while a huge explosion would envelope the horizon…

"You… Duran!" Duncan's undercover name as a zombie… "There is huge battle going on! We must speed up!"

Duran nodded his head, and there was no way in hell he was going that direction… "Yes, you go on without me! My foot is stuck in the ground!"

"AAHHHH! Don't die, Duran!" Duncan was left for dead with his foot stuck in the hole, and surprisingly Enna appeared with blood dripping down her arm…

Hadn't it been a week since the battle?

She looked distraught, and a large blade appeared on his neck…

"Hmph, give me my ugly skeleton! Spit him out or die!"

Duncan gulped realizing she was being serious, and took a deep breathe!

Yes, it worked! He could actually breathe again, but his breathe was horrible!

"Ugh, I evolved… Enna… So, can you please not kill me…"

Enna looked at him up and down…

He also looked at her up and down, and she laughed before patting him on the shoulder…

"No wonder you're the ugliest zombie I'd ever seen! Congratulations, little rebel!"

"My… my names, Duran…." Duncan replied not daring to use his real name…

The intelligence networks in the netherworlds were obsolete in human standards, but it seemed to make the lady pretty happy hearing his name!"

"Heh! So glad you can evolve… boy do I have news to tell you!"

For the first time, he realized he had eyes, and wasn't using dark sight anymore to see…

In fact, dark sight was extremely valuable compared to regular eyes, but the picturesque devil began drawing a map…

In fact, her hand moved like a blur, and there it was…

"Here… I've gathered information on the entirety of the Monte Vernon islands, and I need you to get me something here…"

After all, he was a necromancer, so he could summon Phoenix, and he nodded his head causing her near perfect face to smile!

"Yes, I'll try, but… what kind of item is it?"
