The Evolving Stealth System Chapter 22: The Chosen

Duncan kept receiving communications from Wormy as he helped build a tomb waiting for a chance to be able to leave and save Enna…

He already sent off Phoenix, and he had no chance to do anything but pick up rocks…

[Ding! Wormy has found the location of the sword… Setting arrow to new way point…]

Thousands of zombies marched around him, and added more stones to the towering dragon which was now over 10,000 feet tall becoming a monolith instantly…

The sculpture appeared to be built rather quickly, and a few floating dark zombies, level 30, were melting the rocks as different men sculpted the dragon.

He was standing on floating rocks, and it was a long drop. Now, he began heading back towards the ground, and there was the human looking dragon leaving the rulers enclave…

Checking that no one was looking, he opened the monster's manual, and regained his skeleton flying form, and began flapping away from the monstrous sculpture. Thousands of zombies didn't notice him lift off because they were too busy looking for rocks…

He flew and flew and flew until he was certain that Enna wasn't anywhere close to this compound….

In fact, he turned into the mountain, and found a small hole as the arrow turned for him to go down a narrow pathway…

It was all about Luck…

Since he was a child, he was known to be lucky, and he also found Nyla the most beautiful girl on his planet…

Well, he thought that, but navigating this terrain in this dark tunnel was a lot easier as a zombie…

He transformed back into a zombie, and summoned phoenix to run down the pathway to the left as various goblins and monsters ignored his presence…

They were mining, and using various powerful tools…

He really wanted to take that mining pick axe (rare) from their hands, but he kept following the tunnels…

A few fights were going on between goblins, and there was his first hobgoblin at level 25….

If he imagined the hierarchy of the netherworld, it was skeletons, zombies, goblins, hobgoblins, and somewhere after that was the orcs… Hence, as he was no where near dragons on the food chain, he carefully proceeded down the narrowing tunnel…

[Ding! Host has entered into a domain fragment… it is recommended that host take extreme caution as the dragon is in the mortal fragmentation realm…]

He nodded his head as the arrow turned downward, and Phoenix began making an uproarious racket…

RRRROOOO!

RRROOOORRRROOO!

RRRROOOORRRROOOO!

An alarm went off, as Phoenix giggled and beat a drum that he had found on the floor…

It was simply a diversion tactic, and he fell into the tunnel and plopped into the dirt as a feeling of astounding pain washed over his body…

Where am I?

What is this place?

[Please hold on… system has lost signal with arrow… please wait as it tries to reconnect with the flesh worms current location…]

[It seems there is some sort of obstruction in this room… please take caution… chances of this being a dangerous area are 95%...]

"ninety five percent! Why?"

[Ding! Host is currently in the presence of some sort of high-level ward… It is necessary to leave as soon as possible from this location…]

"Alright…" Duncan noticed a glowing light, and sure enough all around that light was a cob web of dark and white light…

It looked familiar…

In fact, it reminded him of something Nyla drew when they were still able to be together…

She explained how eternity was like a cob web, and that is the kind of feeling he got looking forward…

It was like looking at eternity with all of its splendor…

He reached forward hoping Nyla would touch his hand again, and he realized how foolish this was…. So, rather then sticking his hand into the fire, he turned, and a surprising system prompt appeared in front of his eyes…

[Ding! System has passed the first challenge… the challenge of fortitude in the archaic temple of death… Please continue on to the second trial…]

"System… what are you talking about?"

[Ding! Host has been chosen by the guardian spirits of the dragons to take the challenge of becoming a commander due to his ability…]
