The Evolving Stealth System Chapter 49: Reward Chamber

Duncan awoke three hours after the battle that had caused him to get knocked out, and Levana gave Wormy some food in the treasure room of the tower's alternate dimension…

"Where… where am I?" Duncan noticed mountains of gold and a beautiful girl sitting on the windowsill, so he didn't know why two ghostly men were standing at the edge of the bed he laid on…

"Heh… sorry for startling you!" The two men laughed and Duncan gestured it's fine…

"No… this treasure room is unbelievable…" Duncan figured out where he had been put immediately and then yawned realizing he should've died if this room didn't exist…

He had to use aquatic breath every few hours, or he would've run out of breathe, and… Wormy appeared to be playing on a mound of grass with a few trinkets in its hand…

The ocean usually had algae, and not grass, so he breathed in the feeling of air with confusion…

Did this have anything to do with the array on the floor?

He had no idea, and the two men answered his question… "This dimension had to be made to store rare plants from my master's collection…. So, by the way, he choose three items for you, and in order to get them you have to take good care of Levana…"

Duncan yawned and took a deep breath…

Was Levana some type of pet?

He looked around as Wormy fell down a pile of gold treasures on the hill he had been on, and the scythe girl bowed in front of him a second later…

He had to go on a mission under the surface very soon or a lot of people would die, and… because of her abilities he said "yes" immediately as the two men laughed at his quick response…

"If you're wondering, I had to use many of my treasures to do the transmogrification procedure, and… because of your help, I've chosen you the three best items…" He dropped three items on the bed as Duncan watched Wormy fall once again down the hill into a pile of treasure...

It appeared to be trying to learn to walk up hills…

Crawling, running and walking up hills were much different to his worm, so when he heard an attempt at speaking coming out of its mouth he felt proud…

Wormy appeared to be trying to learn to talk, and he found it strangely cute, but at the same time… how did this room not have any better treasures…?

It had rare antique swords, floating jewels lining the piles of treasure, and… he only saw three small items placed on the bed in front of him that looked like fake souvenirs....

Clearly, this was bullshit to save this man's treasure!

He must be one of those cheap skate masters that never wanted to spend a dime, and… his system didn't say anything from the last ten minutes...

"If you're wondering… the item that looks like a magic box is a soul capture device, and… you know what that is, right?"

Duncan shook his head, and he didn't dare reveal any past knowledge in his head…

Obviously, his training in the academy allowed him to mitigate all his past thoughts, and… Wormy finally appeared to say "Dad"….

He appeared to be growing so fast, and… the golden box began levitating in front of front of his face…

"Well, lets start with this... this is called a soul conductor, and with that soul capture device in your other hand… you can inspect the memories of souls and extract memories from low level souls… doesn't that sound better than some stupid sword?"

Duncan gulped again…

He just hit the spying jackpot, and… Levana bowed in front of him as they appeared in front of the tower…

Weren't they just in another room…

He wanted to get an explanation about how these two objects worked together, and she had her bagged packed already…

Did he agree to letting her come along, and not remember it?

"Heh… you don't have to worry… I can take care of myself…" Levana began floating in the water, and Duncan smiled as he swallowed the lesser divinity catalyst…

"Yup… I expect us to get along well, Levana… I have to do something under the water, and I hope you can help out…" Duncan's skin began to sprout gills, and the girl laughed as an extremely large water demon imp appeared in front of her…

Duncan, however, felt a strange feeling in his gut…

His back began to grow large spikes, and his bubble burst and he breathed in water…

He began fluttering his eyes, as he looked at the girl he had to take care off...

She seemed like a younger Mirada, and... he lost the feelings in his legs and lost track of the sky...

"Yes…" Duncan coughed out water, and Wormy nervously leaned down over a rock…

He knew his master would be fine, and Levana sighed before pulling out a bottle and shoving it in Duncan's mouth…

Suddenly, he felt a lot better, and Wormy picked up another stone he found lying on the ocean floor…

"Consider us even, you ugly imp… Now… what did you have to do down here?"
