Xu Yifan started walking away, but Lu Shijin quickly grabbed his arm. “Fan-ge, I still have an egg left. If you're still hungry, I can make you a bowl of steamed egg custard?”

Xu Yifan paused in his steps and calmly turned around to look at Lu Shijin, who had a bright smile on his face. Eventually, a “thank you” made it past his lips.

After mixing the egg with seasoning, Lu Shijin poured in warm water and scooped off the foam forming on the surface. Then, steaming it for fifteen minutes, the egg custard would be smooth and tender.

Everyone else had already gone back upstairs to rest. Only Lu Shijin and Xu Yifan were left downstairs.

Xu Yifan elegantly finished eating the egg custard. Although he didn't show any expressions, Lu Shijin felt that Xu Yifan shouldn't be as adverse to him as before.

Lu Shijin waited until Xu Yifan finished eating, estimating that he could be the most agreeable now, and struck while the iron was hot, “Fan-ge, can you help me with something?”
