Scarlet Rose [ABO] – What Happens When the Villain Dies at the Beginning? (25)
Inside the Scarlet Rose base, many higher-ups had gathered in a meeting room to argue amongst themselves.
The new emperor had sent an emissary over to negotiate yesterday, wanting to reclaim Lu Shijin, who was still detained in their base.
The emissary claimed that the Emperor would be willing to exchange anything for that person, so the higher-ups were naturally unwilling to let go of this opportunity.
“He should give us at least an iron mine!”
Iron ore was the most important material in weapons, which is why the leader of weapons brought it up.
“What's the point of a few chunks of metal? In my opinion, we should get the total tax income from city B for the next fifty years!”
City B was the largest metropolis on the planet. Fifty years of tax income would be enough to build a small kingdom.
“How vulgar, only wanting money. Don't you know what the most important thing is these days? It's people! Doesn't the Emperor want that Omega? Then we should exchange him for fifty Omegas with excellent genes! The offspring from those Omegas and the best Alphas in our organization will guarantee that our Scarlet Rose will never wilt!”
The person who spoke was the head of the espionage unit, a beautiful female Alpha named Frenda. It was said that countless men and women had fallen under her skirt.
There was nothing that could escape her eyes on this planet.
All of the leaders had finished voicing their opinions and looked in unison to Blood Owl, waiting for their head to speak.
Lu Shijin's face was hidden behind the mask, lowering his voice to imitate Blood Owl's tone, “This is the best time for us to strike, since the new Emperor does not have a stable base. However, I heard that although he's young, he is very ruthless.”
“He's more than ruthless! I heard that he killed the former Emperor in front of everyone during the banquet, and even forced his mother's death, and his brother to become crazy!”
“Tsk, your news is really outdated. I heard that he poisoned everyone who was opposed to his succession during the banquet! How sinister!”
Lu Shijin was dumbfounded, wondering where they heard all those rumours from.
Frenda sneered in disdain, lifting and wagging a finger with bright red polish glinting on her nail. “You guys should get your facts straight before spreading these baseless rumours.”
Lu Shijing thought that there was finally someone who knew the truth and eagerly looked toward her, wanting to hear what she had to say.
Frenda carelessly played with her fingers, saying “According to the reliable information I got from my spy in the palace, the events of that day happened like this. It was a premeditated, forced abdication. Payne had bought over the Prime Minister and the Emperor's other followers, wanting to force him to give up the throne. The old Emperor refused, so Payne poisoned him with the queen's help, later forcing the queen to suicide. Another prince wanted revenge on him, but was shot to death with a single bullet. All the other ministers who supported the old emperor were also dealt with by Payne. That day, blood flowed in the palace like rivers. The blood even seeped into the bricks and tiles, which took the servants three full days and nights to wash out with clean water!”
Lu Shijin was speechless once again. It seemed that even the information from the head of spies wasn't very dependable.
All the people who didn't know the truth sighed when they heard this.
“That much skill and courage at such a young age, we can't underestimate him!”
“An Emperor who ascended the throne with bloody hands, I'm afraid that the Empire will fall into a bloodbath soon.”
“He doesn't even take mercy on his relatives, what should we do if we offend him and he takes revenge on us?”
“As the saying goes, better to offend a gentleman than a villain, and better a villain than a madman! I think we might as well just give him the person as a favour, and avoid any further interactions with him.”
“Yes!”
“Makes sense.”
“I agree!”
Lu Shijin was absolutely speechless. He really wanted to ask them why they were so scared of an eighteen-year-old blond kid when they themselves were infamous gangsters.
And plus, how was his little prince as scary as they make him out to be?
He was clearly a gentle, elegant, warmhearted loyal puppy!
He admitted that this might be what the saying: “A lie, if repeated often enough, will be accepted as truth” referred to.
Lu Shijin couldn't help but say, “You are making a mountain out of a molehill. He's just a little Emperor who just got his position, who here isn't more famous than him?”
“Boss, you can't say that. I didn't dare commit regicide or kill my mother when I was eighteen!”
“That's right, his age is another problem. With what he's already done, I think that he'll be a famous tyrant in the future!”
Frenda sighed, “It's not like I want to praise others while putting down myself, but according to my informants, no ministers and nobles of the Empire can talk about the new Emperor without turning pale. If we openly oppose him now, I'm afraid of how he'll deal with us in the future, after he develops his power.”
Lu Shijin asked, “. . . Then the mine?”
“No need!”
“Tax income?”
“How could money be more important than our lives!”
Lu Shijin looked at Frenda. “50 Omegas?”
Frenda smiled, “I was just joking. We're in such an advanced era, slavery has long been abolished.”
Lu Shijin was speechless again, he had a group of pig teammates who seemed too timid to be villains!
“No!” Lu Shijin slammed the table as he stood up. “We can't give the person up so easily.”
Everyone turned to Blood Owl.
Lu Shijin paused, then said hesitantly, “We should get at least fifty mechas!”
Their gazes all showed admiration. As expected of their boss, daring to bargain with a tyrant, not bowing to power!
“And twenty more military surveillance drones!” Lu Shijin smilingly pointed at Frenda, “Which you'll be in charge of.”
He deeply believed that there were a lot of improvements to be made in their espionage.
Frenda cheered, blowing a kiss to Lu Shijin. “Boss, I'm seriously in love with you! I often regret not being an Omega, what do you say about a double Alpha relationship?”
A cold gaze brushed over Frenda from behind the mask, immediately making her lower her head and frown, grumbling, “I'm kidding.”
After settling the terms, Payne quickly had people bring the mechas and drones over. Likewise, Blood Owl had people return Lu Shijin.
But Lu Shijin's consciousness remained in Blood Owl, not returning with them.
Compared to an Omega body that couldn't control itself, going into heat every so often, he preferred an Alpha's body.
And controlling Scarlet Rose would make his next step easier.
