His Invisible Halo 5 Chapter 4

"During those point that I just want to give up, tumingin lang ako sa taas. I keep on asking for a sign if this is really her end. But you know what class, God is really good. The doctor said na baka hindi kayanin ng asawa ko yung operation na gagawin sa kanya. I never loose my faith in me. My wife is now tumor free and it's because of Him. I want you to learn not just the lessons that I teach but I also want you to bare in your mind that nothing's impossible only if we will put our trust in Him. That's all for now. Don't forget to always pray." our professor said leaving our room with a good ambiance. Everytime that he's sharing words about God, nakakagaan palagi ng pakiramdam.

"Kel, nanliligaw ba sayo si Asher?" tanong ni Fayr. Nakiusisa at lumapit din tuloy sa akin yung iba kong kaklase. Saan na naman nanggaling yung fake news na 'yon?

"Hindi." sagot ko at mabilis na dinampot yung bag ko para pumunta ng cr. Five minutes late naman palagi yung teacher namin sa second subject kaya may time pa ako. Sa halip na makaalis, humara na naman sila sa dinadaanan ko.

"Balita namin ikaw daw yung naghahabol?" tanong pa nila na animo'y mga reporter. This time, I felt like I am a famous celebrity to be interrogated like this.

"Jem, I don't mean to boast but you know that I'm one of those prettiest faces in our department. Bakit ako maghahabol sa tingin mo?" napailing na lang ako. Mabuti naman at natigil na sila dahil dumating na yung lecturer namin. Great! Hindi tuloy ako nakalabas.

After our morning classes, mabilis pa sa alas kwatrong lumabas ako ng room. Baka kung ano ano na namang itanong nila. I saw Ersy outside. Himala at nauna syang lumabas kaysa sa akin.

"What do you mean by that smile?" tanong ko kaya't mabilis syang bumalik sa pagiging seryoso.

"Alin?" lumingon ako sa may likuran nya at nakita kong papalapit sa amin si River. I knew it.

"Sama ka ba samin maglunch?" tanong nya pero mabilis akong umiling. Thank God at okay na ang dalawang ito. Pakipot pa ang kaibigan kong ito. Sa sobrang rupok ay bibigay din pala.

"I have lots of things to do. Maya maya pa ako." pagsisinungaling ko. I want to give them their personal space. Besides, hindi pa naman ako nagugutom. I just decided to go to the coffeeshop near our the campus to finish my report. Kinuha ko muna yung order ko sa counter bago ako naghanap ng pwesto. I started researching something about my report until Draven's name pop up.

Draven:

Have you eaten your lunch?

/Nope. I have things to do. You?/

Draven:

I'm staying at home. Sorry about last time.

Draven:

Would you like to continue the story about your angel then?

/Forget about it. I shouldn't told you that kind of stuffs./

Draven:

Something's new about you, Remy.

/I just realized how stupid I am for acting like a kid this past few days./

Draven:

You don't anymore believe in your guardian angel then?

/I still believe but I think I mistakenly accused a cold guy. Maybe it's just a pure co-incidence that he saved me. There's no way for him to be an angel. It's just obvious on his looks but not on the way he acts. I mean, based on the books that I already read, angels are kind and not cold./

Draven:

Something came up? What did he do to you?

/Not really. I don't want to talk about him anymore./

Draven:

Okay.

/I'll  finish first my report. Let's just talk later./

After sending my last reply, nagfocus na lang ulit ako sa report ko. I wasn't able to finish it because lunch time was almost over. I'm heading my way to our room when I bumped into someone. Natatanta ito ng mahulog yung mga libro nya.

"Sorry. " I admit that it was my fault that's why I helped her. It was late for me to realize that it was Laurene, my classmate.

"Ayos ka lang? tumango ito sa akin. I noticed that she doesn't have an enough sleep again. She's very quiet in our class at hindi mo talaga mararamdaman ang presensya nya. I also heard that she's suffering from insomia. Magtatanong pa sana ulit ako pero mabilis na syang umalis sa harap ko. I have no choice but to just go back in our class. I got curious where will she go but I didn't bother to ask. Maybe it's something too personal.

Ersy messaged me right after the class. Parehong maagang natapos ang klase namin kaya't maaga din kaming nakarating ng apartment.

"Kel, are you interested?" tanong nya habang abala ako sa pagluluto.

"Saan?"

"River told me that their finding a muse to represent their team? I just thought that you're interested since you have an experience right?"

Napaisip naman ako dahil sa sinabi nya. Asher was there. Hindi ko alam kung bakit hanggang ngayon nakakaramdam pa din ako ng hiya sa kanya.

"Ayoko." sagot ko. Lumapit naman sa akin ang kaibigan ko na mukhang hindi nagustuhan kung ano iyong isinagot ko.

"Can you do me a favor, Kel?"

"Ano na naman 'yan?"

"Ngayon lang ulit ako nanghingi ng pabor sayo so there's no way that you'll not help me."

I still remember the last time that she ask me for a favor. She's very heartbroken with a guy back then. She asked me if we could have a drink but it seems like I am the one who got drunk. We're inside our apartment when I've done a biggest mistake. I have a bad habit whenever I'm in a situation like that. I'm not good at holding liquor and controlling my emotions. Hiyang hiya tuloy ako sa sarili ko kinabukasan. Gusto ko na lang lamunin ng lupa dahil sa lahat ng sinabi ko sa ex ko. I told him that I still love him and I don't know if I can still get over. I never expect that he will fetch me in school asking for a comeback.

Comeback his ass! I don't want to give trust to such jerk and cheater like him. Isang nakakadiring pangyayari kapag naaalala ko ulit iyon.

"Hey, Kel! What's your decision. Yes or no?" napabalik lang ako sa wisyo ng magsalita ulit sya. I don't know what she's saying dahil sa kung ano ano na namang karumal dumal at nakakadiring pangyayari ang naalala ko.

"River and I are already dating. I want to keep our relationship as a secret. You know what I mean. Makakalapit lang ako sa kanya if you will be their team's representative."

Is this the favor she's aking? Still, hindi ko pa din magets. Marami naman sigurong manonood ng game kaya walang issue naman siguro kung manonood kami doon.

"Frida is always been suspicious about me this past few days. Alam mo naman na  never akong nanood ng practice or ng actual game ng basketball. She will keep on finding her ways again to know the truth. Ayoko lang na maulit yung nangyari dati. If you will be there, I'll have my reasons. And besides, gusto talaga namin ni River na ikaw ang magrepresent ng team nila."

Honestly, her favor is not a big deal. Hindi ko lang mainitindihan kung bakit ganito sya kung mag over react ngayon. And by the way, Frida is the president of the chismosa club dito sa Cambridge. She actually made a site where you can read rumors and fake news. River is one of the popular guy here in our university. I somewhat understand Ersy now. Maybe she want to have a normal life far from those issues. And once the fact spread that she and River are dating, baka maging usap usapan na naman ito sa buong campus.

"Say yes, please." humawak pa ito sa braso ko. Alam kong hinding hindi nya ako titigilan hangga't hindi nya ako napapapayag sa gusto nyang mangyari.

"Fine."

"Thanks, Kel."

I thought her favor was just easy. Kaya pala pagpasok namin kinabukasan, mahaba na agad ang pila sa auditorium. Hindi ko alam na ganito pala sila kahigpit sa paghahanap ng magiging representative nila.

"Seryoso ba talaga 'to Ersy? Wag na lang kaya?" reklamo ko dahil ayoko sa lahat ay yung pinaghihintay.

"Kel, we don't have morning class okay? Since nandito na din tayo, wag na tayo umatras." reklamo nya.

Tinatamad akong pumunta sa linya. Nang makita ako ng ibang estudyanteng babae na nakipila, umatras agad sila. Napakunot tuloy ang noo ko kay Ersy.

"They're just threatened, Kel. Knowing the fact na mag aaudition ka dito, they just realize that they're wasting their time. Your beautiful and you have confidence inside so I'm sure ikaw mapipili. Go bessy!" she cheered. Napailing na lang ako. Ano ba itong pinasok ko?

After a long time of waiting, now it's my turn. Pumasok na ako sa loob. There are three guys there. River was in the middle.

"I guess she's the one that we're finding. What do you think Joaquin?" they all agreed. I guess they just based their decision about looks and confidence. May tinitingnan din silang papel. I asked Ersy about it. She told me na nagsubmit sya ng ilang informations about me kasi required.

"I told you, ikaw ang mapipili." wika nya. Maya maya ay pinapasok ulit ako sa loob ng auditorium. The three of them are discussing until Asher came.

"There's an equal vote for the both of them. Let's give Asher the decision."

Napatingin ako sa babaeng katabi ko. I can't believe seeing her here. She's Laurene. I'm a little bit shocked because of her looks right now. How come?

"Laurene, why are you here? Alam mo ba kung ano yung sinalihan mo?" tanong ko ngunit hindi nya naman ako sinagot.

"Who do you think deserve the spot Ash? You should choose Kelsey if I were you." the guy named Joaquin said.

Nagtama ang paningin namin ni Asher. I'm very confident that I'll be chosen right now since the whole university know what I've been to. I used to join pageants and be the represetative of Cambridge University since high school.

"Laurene deserve the spot." Asher answered before walking away. Napanganga ako sa gulat dahil sa sinabi nya. How could he do this to me?

Great! Pinahiya nya lang naman ako!
