His Invisible Halo 20 Chapter 19

"I knew it! I'm happy for you, Kel. At teka nga, bakit ganyan ang mukha mo?" nakapamewang na tanong ni Ersy sa akin habang ako naman ay nakaupo sa kama ko. Pumunta sya sa aking closet habang ako ay hindi pa din alam ang gagawin.

"Papayag ba ako sa sinabi nya?" she stopped from finding something in my closet then look at me.

"Ofcourse! Asher is very cold when it comes to his treatment for girls. That made you special, Kel. Who would have ever thought that he's like this now? It only means one thing, siguro nga gusto ka n'on." dugtong nya pa na parang siguradong sigurado. Siguro nga nanibago lang ako sa lahat ng ipinapakita nya sa akin ngayon kaya ako nagkakaganito.

"This is perfect! You'll look good in this dress, Kel." wika nya bago ibinigay sa akin ang isang pulang dress. Inayawan ko naman iyon dahil masyadong mahaba para sa akin. It's not the first time that I'll be going out for a date but this one is very different. I don't usually get excited when it comes to this. Sige, inaamin ko na! Kinilig ako ng kaunti kagabi at ayoko lang talagang ipahalata.

"Okay! I won't bother you anymore. I'll let you choose what you want. So happy for you, Kel!" kinikilig na wika nya bago sya lumabas ng kwarto. My phone beeps kaya napatigil ako sa paghahanap ng damit na maisusuot.

Asher: I'll pick you up exactly at 7 pm. Just choose the clothes you're comfortable with. A shirt and a pajama maybe?

Napataas naman ang kilay ko dahil sa sinabi nya. Is he kidding me? We will have a date tapos pagmumukain nya akong matutulog?

/Are we going to sleep? You don't have a taste of fashion, Asher. I'm going to wear what I want./

Asher: Okay. Just don't get too excited.

/I am not, Ashumero./

He didn't reply after I said those. Naghintay pa ako sa kung ano ang sasabihin nya pero hindi na ito sumagot. After of almost 20 minutes of thinking what will I wear, I just decided to pick the light pink off-shoulder dress above the knee then paired it with a 3 inches heels.

I didn't do anything about my hair. I just prefer na palagi itong nakalugay. I also put a light make up then I'm completely done. Parang bata akong umikot sa salamin habang manghang mangha sa sarili ko. I looked at our wallclock. It's already 7 pm. Asher should be waiting outside but he's not yet here.

"Should I make a fansclub for  the both of you, then?" Ersy asked. Sa dinami dami ng mga bagay na kontra sya sa akin, ngayon ay naninibago ako. She's never been a supporter like this when it comes to my past relationships. Gusto ko tuloy malaman kung ano ang ipinakain ni Asher sa kanila kung kaya't ganito sila ngayon.

"Seriously, Kelsey. You're so damn gorgeous today. Ewan ko lang kung hindi 'yon mapansin ni Asher ngayon."

Napatingin tuloy ulit ako sa sarili ko at muling pumunta sa harapan ng salamin kung maayos lang ba yung itsura ko. I check my face kung may kumalat ba na make up or ano.

"He's here!" nataranta tuloy ako dahil sa sigaw nyang iyon. I look at the window to check if Asher is already there before I faced again with my bestfriend.

"Are you sure that I look good now? H-hindi ba panget? Yung buhok ko okay lang ba or dapat kong i-ponytail?" napatawa naman ito dahil sa inasta ko.

"This is the first time  I saw you being nervous again, Kel. I adore you for being confident in the different competitions that you joined but now you look like a first timer who will face many people in a national television. Kumalma ka." hinawakan nya yung magkabila kong braso bago nya binuksan yung pinto habang hawak ang kamay ko at marahang hinila papunta sa labas.

I saw him waiting beside his car wearing a jacket and a short. I admit that he's still handsome despite how simple his clothes are. He looked at me from head to foot. It looks like he didn't even prepared for this. Baka  isipin nya na halos maubos na yung oras ko sa pag aayos ng sarili ko which is not true!

"Enjoy your date. Ingat sa pagmamaneho." wika ng kaibigan ko kay Asher. Hindi pa din nya tinatanggal yung titig nya sa akin kaya't nakaramdam ako ng pagkailang.

"Balitaan mo na lang ako mamaya." bulong ng kaibigan ko bago nya ako hinila papalapit sa lalaking ito. Hindi naman ako bumitaw ng tingin sa kanya hanggang sa makapasok sya sa loob ng apartment.

"Shall we go?" I heard him asked kaya't hinarap ko sya. Ersy is right. I should be confident when I'm with him kung ayaw kong magmukhang tanga.

"Wala ka man lang bang sasabihin?" tanong ko. I was expecting him to say any compliments about how I look right now pero kumunot lang ang noo nito.

"What will I say?" sagot nya kaya't inis ko itong inirapan bago ako halos magpapadyak na pumasok sa loob ng kotse.

I know I am beautiful right now at baka nahihiya lang syang sabihin iyon sa akin.

"I'm sorry if I was late for 10 minutes. Nakatulog ako." sagot nya kaya't mas lalong nadagdagan yung inis ko. Kaya pala hindi na sya nakapagreply sa akin kanina. How come that he was able to sleep gan'ong may date kami? It looks like he's not going on a date because of what he is wearing. Kung alam ko lang ay sana nagpajama na lang ako sa sinabi nya.

But anyway, he need to say something about my looks now para hindi naman masayang yung effort ko.

I looked at him while he's driving. He's back on his serious mode again. Parang hindi man lang nakakaramdam ng kahit anong excitement.

"Why are you giving me that kind of stares?"  tanong nya habang nakatingin sa akin.

"Wala ka man lang bang sasabihin?" I repeated while still hoping that for the second time, he'll get what I'm pointing out.

"What?"

I know he's smart pero bakit hindi nya maintindihan? Sa halip na maging masaya ata ako ngayong gabi ay baka mas lalo lang akong mainis.

"About me ofcourse!" I crossed my arms while looking at the street. Nakita ko naman sa peripheral vision ko na nakatingin sya sa akin.

"Your dress is too short."

Nakakainis. Instead of receiving compliments ay mukhang judgement pa ang matatanggap ko mula sa lalaking ito.

"Your hair is long and I think it should be better if you'll cut it into shoulder length size."

"Your shoes perfectly suits you."

"Your pouch has the color almost similar to your dress."

I looked at him with my deadly stares. I felt like I'm going to explode anytime because of him.

"Shut up! I don't need your observations." I just rolled my eyes at him. I decided to focus myself in the cellphone that I'm holding only if I didn't hear what he said next.

"To sum up it all, you're beautiful...

Natigilan naman ako habang hindi makapaniwalang nasabi nya iyon. Hindi ko na napigilan yung sarili ko kaya't napangiti ako.

"most especially when you smile."
