His Invisible Halo 26 Chapter 25

I wasn't able to have an enough sleep because of what happened last night. Pagkagising ko na lang ay medyo masakit na yung ulo. Madalas din akong napapabahing.

"You should eat first, Kelsey. Should I text your boyfriend so you'll feel better now?" Ersy laughed giving me that kind of stares again. Yung mga matang nanunukso kaya't hindi ko mapigilan yung sarili ko na mapangiti.

"Sira!" sagot ko. Like what she wanted, I told her everything about Asher and I. Akala ko talaga ay uuwi sya sa kanila pero kasabwat pala sya sa pagplano nito. Hanggang ngayon ay hindi ko pa din matanggal ang ngiti sa labi ko.

"So, what's your status now? Are you already in a relationship with him or not?" she asked. I remember what he told me in Tagaytay last night. He doesn't want to put everything into rush as long as we felt the same way for each other.

"Parang ga'non na din." sagot ko. Maya maya ay nagvibrate yung phone ko. Like what I am expecting, that text message came from him. Nagkatinginan naman kami ni Ersy bago nya ako sinundot sa tagiliran.

"I'll just prepare our food. Pagkatapos mo dyan, lumabas ka na para kumain okay? I don't want him to be mad if he knows that you're sick." panunukso pa ng kaibigan ko bago ito nakangiting lumabas ng kwarto.

I looked at my phone again read his message.

Ashumero: How's your sleep?

I was about to compose my reply only if his name didn't register in my screen. Nagulat tuloy ako. I took a deep sigh first before tapping the answer button.

/H-hello./

"Did you have an enough sleep? Did you eat already?"

Hearing his voice makes me feel this way again. Paano pa kaya kung magkita ulit kami?

/M-mahimbing akong nakatulog... and n-nakakain na din./

I lied. Ayoko kasing mag alala pa sya.

"That's good."

/W-what about you?/

"I didn't sleep."

/Why? Is there something you need to finish?/

"There's nothing."

/S-so, bakit di ka natulog?/

"I prefer to think of you the whole night rather than sleeping."

Natahimik naman ako sa sinabi nya. Where did he learn those kind of lines? He always makes my heart screams just by saying those.

"You should eat."

/H-ha. K-kumain na ako diba?/

"Your friend texted me that you're still inside your room."

Napatingin naman ako sa may pinto. I saw my bestfriend showing me a peace sign.

/O-okay. S-sorry for lying. I'll hang up t-the call./

"I love you."

/I l-love you too./

Halos magpagulong gulong ako sa kama matapos iyon. Hindi pa ako nakuntento dahil niyakap ko yung phone ko bago ko napagdesisyunang lumabas na ng kwarto.

"It's the first time that I saw that kind of smile again." my bestfriend commented. Naalala kong masakit nga pala yung ulo ko kanina pero medyo nawala iyon nung tumawag si Asher.

"Palagi naman akong ngumingiti." sagot ko hinila yung upuan para makaupo.

"I mean today is different. It's been a year since your last relationshit right?" she added. I don't know why being in this kind of relationship is a special  thing. I don't want to compare pero hindi naman ako naging ganito sa mga ex-boyfriend ko. Maybe because I'm too young back then when I entered in a relationship that's why it didn't work.

Pagkatapos naming kumain ni Ersy ay pinainom nya ako ng gamot. Ramdam ko naman na medyo lumamig pagkatapos kong maligo kaya't agad akong pumasok sa kwarto ko. My head is aching again like what I've experienced earlier. Hindi ko alam kung bakit sa pagkakataong ito pa talaga ako sinipon.

I just decided to rest hanggang sa hindi ko namalayan na nakatulog ulit ako. Nagising lang ako ng may maglapat ng basang bimpo sa noo ko. I have a heavy feeling now not until I realize who's the person beside me.

"asher?" It was very unexpected that I saw him here. Nilibot ko ang tingin ko sa kabuuan ng kwarto. Ersy is not around.

"Are you feeling better?" he asked. Napabahing naman ako. He handed me a tissue para mapunasan ko yung sipon ko. Damn this feeling! Ngayon pa talaga.

"Just wait for me here. I'll get something so can feel better." tumango ako sa sinabi nya. Nang makalabas ito ng kwarto ay agad kung kinuha yung phone ko. I dialed Ersy's number. Mabuti na lang at sumagot kaagad ito.

/Where are you?/

I heard River's voice. I am sure that they're together right now.

"I have a date, Kel. Sorry for leaving you. Mabuti na lang at nandyan yung boyfriend mo."

Narinig ko na naman ang panunukso nya sa kabilang linya.

/Baliw! Bakit mo sinabi?/

"Don't mad at me na. I'm sure you'll thank me for this after I went home." dugtong nya pa.

I don't know what's running on her mind. Ayoko namang abalahin si Asher dahil kaya ko naman yung sarili ko. I can surely take care of myself since simpleng lagnat at pananakit ng ulo lang naman ito.

I hang up the call right after I saw Asher holding a tray. He put in on the table beside me bago humarap sa akin.

"You should eat your lunch and take this medicine." he said. Hindi ko tuloy maiwasang mguilty.

"S-sorry kay Ersy ah? Kaya k-ko na yung sarili ko. H-hindi ka ba busy?" nahihiyang tanong ko.

"I am. I'll be very busy on you until you feel better." he answered. Asher and his words again! Kahit may sakit ako ay hindi ko pa din maiwasang kiligin.

I saw the lunch that he prepared. I'm not aware that he can cooked lugaw. I wonder if he's the one preparing and cooking food for Mara since I don't see any maids when I went there in their house.

He was about to feed me kung hindi ko lang sya napigilan. I am not used to it. Nahihiya na ako.

"K-kaya ko na." sagot ko at pilit na inaagaw sa kanya yung kutsara.

"I am here to take care of you so please, let me. I'm worried."

My heart is beating too fast again like the feeling of an athlete running a thousand meters. Why does he need to be like this?

I just chose to be silent and follow what he wanted. I can't explain the feeling when someone cares for you more than you care for yourself. Hindi ko maiwasang mapatingin sa kanya habang hinihipan nya yung kutsara na may lugaw bago isubo sa akin.

"I-i'm full." I answered. He's actually a good cook. Maswerte ang mga magiging anak namin.

Inalalayan nya din ako na uminom ng tubig. He also give me my medicine to drink.

"You need to take a rest this whole day. I know you're tired because of our long ride yesterday." he exclaimed. Wala naman akong ibang nagawa kung hindi ang tumango sa sinabi nya. I watched him left the room. Akala ko ay aalis na sya pero pagkagising ko ay nakita ko syang natutulog sa tabi ko. His head was on my bed that's why I felt guilty again. Naramdaman nya siguro noong gumalaw ako kaya't nagising ko sya.

"Are you hungry?" pambungad na tanong nya kaagad. I can notice something different from his eyes since nasabi nya sa akin na hindi sya natulog kagabi.

"Y-you should go home. Maayos na talaga ako." pangungumbinsi ko sa kanya. Only if I'm not sick, nakatulog sana sya ng maayos ngayong araw.

"Good to hear." he didn't listen because of what I've said. He check my forehead to know if I still have a fever.

"I'm alright. M-magpapalit na lang ako ng damit." paalam ko sa kanya. I looked at our wallclock. Hindi ko namalayan yung oras kasi 6 pm na pala.

"Okay. I'll go outside." I watched his back while leaving this room. Nag iisip ako ng pwedeng gawin para makabawi sa kanya. I totally feel alright now. I just get a pajama and a shirt and then changed my clothes before going out of the room. Hinanap ng mga mata ko si Asher. I thought he's in the sofa but I was wrong. I found him in the kitchen, cooking for something.

He's not aware that I'm looking at him. I just found myself walking towards his direction as I hugged him from the back. I don't want to let go kasi sobrang komportable ako kapag ginagawa ko iyon sa kanya.

"You should get inside your room and rest." he said while we're still in my favorite position.

"I told you I'm alright. You should be the one to rest." I answered. Naramdaman ko naman na kinalas nya yung kamay kong nakayakap bago ito humarap sa akin.

My gaze went to his lips. I didn't waste any moment. I took that opportunity to kiss him. I felt his hand on my waist while my hands are around his neck.

"Wrong move. SPG!"

Mabilis kaming napabitaw sa isa't isa dahil sa isang pamilyar na sigaw na iyon. I can't explain how reddish my whole face is now.

I saw Asher throw a tomato to the guy who disturbed us pero mabilis itong nakailag.

"I told you baby loves. Mamaya na tayo umuwi." nakita kong piningot ni Ersy yung tenga ni River para kaladkarin papaalis. I can't help but to laugh until it was changed by a sudden nervous feeling when I realized that only the two of us are left here again.

"Shall we continue then?" I heard him spoke. Napatakip tuloy ako sa buong mukha ko. I heard his soft laugh because of what I did.

Maya maya pa ay naramdaman kong niyakap nya ako.

"I'm just kidding. I love you."

That made my smile. Damn! How could I be so lucky with this guy?
