Cho Jigen no Maou Vol 4 Chapter 5

Saneko and Pikku heard a commotion in the distance, and people around them started running in fear. Saneko quickly grabbed a man who was passing by and asked him what was going on, but the man pleaded to be let go of.

"Please, let me go! I need to get out of here!" he exclaimed, struggling to break free from Saneko's grip.

Saneko tightened her hold on the man's arm, "Tell me what's happening. I might be able to help."

Saneko's eyes widened as the man told her about the annual destruction caused by the unstoppable orb. "Every year?" she asked, her voice tinged with concern. The man nodded frantically and pleaded to be let go. Saneko released him and he ran away, disappearing into the chaos.

Saneko noticed a dark cloud forming in the distance, and it seemed to be growing larger by the minute. She pointed it out to Pikku, who had been standing beside her in fear. The sky was becoming increasingly overcast, and the wind began to pick up.

Saneko realized that there was a floating sphere in the middle of the storm.

As the sphere got closer, Saneko could make out what appeared to be bolts of lightning and flashes of energy emanating from it.

The destructive potential of this energy sphere was clear; anything in its path would be torn apart.

Saneko quickly yelled to the frantic crowd if anyone knew how to stop the unstoppable sphere.

One man quickly ran up to Saneko and explained the danger. "It's impossible! People from the human world put up indestructible magic barriers, and it still destroyed them all."

As the sphere got closer, the man that Saneko had grabbed earlier started to run away in fear.

Pikku grabs Saneko's arm, shaking it with fear. "What are we going to do, Saneko?" she cries out.

Saneko doesn't respond, her eyes locked onto the approaching sphere. It's getting closer and closer, and she can feel the ground shaking beneath her feet from the sheer force of its speed. Finally, she speaks, her voice calm despite the chaos around them.

Saneko stands calmly as the sphere approaches, her eyes fixed on its trajectory. As it nears, she extends her hand out in front of her, palm open and facing the sphere. The crowd around her gasps and begins to back away in fear, but Saneko remains rooted in place.

With a thunderous boom, the sphere collides with Saneko's outstretched hand. The impact sends a shockwave rippling through the air, causing the ground to shake violently. But Saneko simply stands there, her arm outstretched and her hand holding the sphere in a tight grip.

Saneko stood there, holding the once unstoppable sphere in her hand, as the people around her looked on in stunned silence. Without a hint of strain or effort, she crushed the sphere in her hand, reducing it to a mere pile of dust.

The onlookers were paralyzed in awe, some too afraid to even move or speak.

Saneko turned to the crowd and spoke, her voice calm and steady, "There's no need to be afraid. I took care of it." With that, she and Pikku started walking away from the scene, leaving the people to process what they had just witnessed.

As they walked, Pikku couldn't help but ask, "How did you do that? I've never seen anything like it."

Saneko chuckles. "You really shouldn't be surprised anymore, Pikku," she says to her companion, her tone playful.

Pikku looks at Saneko with wide eyes and shakes her head. "I can't help it," she replies, still amazed by Saneko's incredible power.

Saneko turned to Pikku, a mischievous grin on her face. "You know, I could sense that the creator of that sphere was actually someone who can harness sound. The sphere was caused due to sound frequencies being compacted."

Pikku's eyes widened in amazement. "Really? How do you know that?"

Saneko chuckled. "I can just sense things like that. But it doesn't matter now, the danger is over."

Saneko turned to Pikku and asked, "Hey, do you want to track down the person who made that sphere or do you want to grab a bite to eat?"

Pikku hesitated for a moment, not wanting to be a burden, but finally spoke up. "I'm really hungry, actually. Can we eat first?"

Saneko chuckles at Pikku's honesty and says, "Alright, let's get some food then." She takes Pikku's hand and teleports to a nearby restaurant.

When they arrived, Pikku was amazed to see that even in these higher realities, people had restaurants. She had always thought that the higher realms would be completely different from what she was used to, but seeing the familiar surroundings made her feel more at ease.

Saneko chuckled at Pikku's reaction and said, "Just because we're in a higher reality doesn't mean we don't need to eat. Besides, food is a universal pleasure. Everyone enjoys a good meal."

Pikku nodded in agreement, still taking in the sights and sounds of the restaurant.

They where led to a table and they sat down, perusing the menu. Pikku was surprised to see dishes she had never heard of before, with ingredients she had never seen. She asked Saneko about some of the dishes, and Saneko explained the origins and flavors of each one.

Their food arrived, and Pikku couldn't help but let out a sigh of contentment as she took her first bite. The flavors were unlike anything she had ever tasted before, and she savored each bite.

As Pikku finished her meal and wiped her mouth with a napkin, she looked up at Saneko with a determined expression.

"I'm ready to find the person who made that sphere. Let's go," she said.

Saneko smiled at her enthusiasm and nodded. "Alright then. Let's see what we can find." she said before summoning a pile of money to pay for the meal.

Saneko then grabbed Pikku's hand and teleported them to an empty area. There was no one around, and the place seemed abandoned.

Pikku looked around, confused. "Where are we? I don't see anyone."

Saneko closed her eyes and focused her senses. "I can sense a powerful energy signature not too far from here. That must be our target."

They started walking towards the direction of the energy signature, but as they got closer, they noticed a strange humming sound.

"What's that noise?" Pikku asked, covering her ears.

Saneko's expression grew serious. "It's a sound wave. And it's powerful."

As they got even closer, they saw a figure in the distance, manipulating the sound wave with their hands.

"That must be the person who made the sphere," Saneko said.

As they approached, they saw that it was a woman with long white hair and a golden dress. The woman turned to them and greeted them with a smile.

"Oh, Welcome," she said. "I was not expecting anyone to be here."

Saneko and Pikku were taken aback by the woman's calm demeanor, considering the destruction she had caused with the sphere. Saneko asked, "Are you the one responsible for the sphere that just passed through?"

The woman nodded. "Yes, I am. I apologize for any harm I may have caused. The sphere was not meant to harm anyone or anything. It was a creation I made many years ago, meant to harness the power of sound."

Pikku was curious and asked, "What kind of sound?"

The woman smiled. "All kinds of sound. Music, nature, even the sound of our own hearts beating. I have been studying the power of sound for years, and this was my latest creation."

As soon as Pikku asked the woman for her name, she replied, "I am Cadaza, the Sound Sorceress." Her voice was calm and melodic, but there was an underlying power to it that made Pikku feel both excited and nervous at the same time.

Pikku took a step closer, her eyes shining with admiration. "Wow, Cadaza, you must be really powerful if you can create something as destructive as that sphere. Can you teach me something about sound?"

Saneko suddenly interrupts Pikku. "Stop." she said. Pikku turns around, confused, and asks her what's wrong.

Saneko turned to Pikku, her expression serious. "Cadaza is a liar," she said firmly.

Saneko's eyes narrowed as she stared at Cadaza. "She's not who she says she is. She's been purposefully causing chaos and destruction in the Hyper-World for years."

As Saneko prepares to attack Cadaza, her hand begins to glow with a dark energy. Her eyes narrow and her muscles tense, ready to strike. But just as she is about to lunge forward, Pikku steps in between them, her arms spread wide.

"Stop, Saneko!" Pikku yells. "You can't just attack someone without knowing the whole story."

Saneko's eyes narrowed as she turned her gaze towards Pikku, her voice firm and commanding. "Pikku, be quiet," she said firmly, her tone leaving no room for argument. The sudden shift in Saneko's behavior stunned Pikku into silence, and she stood there frozen, unsure of how to react.

Meanwhile, Cadaza continued to defend herself, insisting that the sphere was an accident.

Saneko raised her hand, preparing to unleash a devastating attack on Cadaza. However, before she could do anything, Cadaza quickly created two of the spheres that Saneko had just destroyed and smiled devilishly.

As the two spheres materialized in Cadaza's hands, Pikku's eyes widened with realization. She knew that Saneko had been right about Cadaza. The woman's innocent demeanor had been a fecade, and now, she was revealed as the villain she truly was.
