Cho Jigen no Maou Vol 4 Chapter 3

As Saneko and Pikku entered the room, they both gazed upon the man who appeared to be a king. The king was seated on a throne at the center of the room, and he was dressed in royal garments adorned with gold and jewels. His posture was regal, and his expression was stern.

Pikku looked around the room and noticed that there were guards stationed at every corner of the room, each one armed with a sword and shield. She also saw tapestries and portraits adorning the walls, depicting scenes of battle and victory.

"Who are you?" The king repeated.

Saneko stepped forward and addressed the king, "Greetings. I am the Demon King, and this is my companion, Pikku."

The king looks at her incredulously, clearly not convinced by her words. "I have never heard of a Demon King," he retorts. "And even if you were, I would not hesitate to have you executed for daring to trespass in my castle."

Saneko raises her hands in sarcastic defense. "I'm just looking around." She says, in a passive aggressively tone.

The king, now angered by her tone, ordered his guards to execute her and Pikku. But Saneko remained unfazed and turned to face the guards, her hands raised. Suddenly, the guards fell to the ground.

The king was shocked by this display of power, but Saneko reassured him that they were not dead, merely incapacitated.

Saneko stood up straight and looked the king in the eye. "I have been saving the lower layers of the Hyper-World, and I plan to save all layers and the human world from evil and calamity."

The king looked at her in shock. "You?" he said incredulously. "But if you are who you claim to be, a Demon King, you would be the ruler of darkness and chaos. How can you possibly save us?"

Saneko nods, "The former Demon King was killed, but his soul remained. I have taken his place, but my conscience is still that of Saneko Sarakana, a human who vowed to protect the human realm."

As the king looked at Saneko, he slowly began to realize that she was the one who had been spoken about in the stories. He began to stutter, unsure of what to say or do in the presence of the legendary demon king.

"I-I can't believe it. Y-you're the one from the book," the king stammers.

Saneko and Pikku exchanged confused looks as the king held up a book in his hand. "How could you have escaped this book?" he asked, clearly bewildered.

Saneko shook her head, "I don't understand. What book are you talking about?"

The king got up and stood in front of Saneko and Pikku, holding the book in his hand. "You see," he began, "the lower layers are books, and you were simply characters within them."

Saneko and Pikku exchanged confused glances.

Saneko takes a moment to absorb what the king has just said. She realizes that, from a higher dimensional perspective, the lower layers are nothing more than stories written in a book. She looks down at her hands and then back up at the king.

"So, you're saying that from your perspective, those layers are simply pages in a book?" Saneko asks.

The king nods. "Yes, that is correct. You and everything in the lower layers are nothing more than a story."

"How did you escape the book?" the king asks once more.

Saneko spoke up, "The Demon King's soul is beyond laws like cause and effect. How you view reality is irrelevant to me."

The king was speechless, unable to comprehend Saneko's power.

"I am here to save the layers. I do not care about the laws of your world, or the laws above any world above this one for that matter." Saneko says bluntly.

Saneko turned to leave, but the king called out to her, "Wait!" She stopped in her tracks and turned to face him. "What is it?" she asked.

The king hesitated for a moment before speaking. "This layer only has one evil magic user, but his power is so immense that simply thinking of going against him could lead to your death," he explained.

Saneko smiled, a glint in her eyes. "It sounds like fun," she said. "I'll take care of him."

The king looked shocked. "But how?" he asked. "His power is beyond anything I've ever seen."

Saneko shrugged. "I'll figure it out," she replied confidently. "I've faced plenty of powerful foes before."

The king looked unsure, but Saneko didn't seem fazed. "I won't let this layer fall to darkness," she said firmly.

With that, Saneko turned and left the room, leaving the king to ponder her words and her seemingly limitless power.

Saneko and Pikku exited the castle's gate, the cool air outside hitting their faces. Pikku looked up at Saneko and asked, "Where should we go now?"

Saneko turned to her with a smirk and replied, "Didn't you hear what that king said?"

Pikku shook her head in confusion, and Saneko continued, "There's only one evil magic user in this layer, and I'm going to teleport to him now."

Pikku's eyes widened in shock at how Saneko was already about to face off against another foe.

Saneko noticed Pikku's unease and said, "We need to get this over with as quickly as possible, Pikku. This isn't a game."

Pikku nodded, understanding the gravity of the situation.

Saneko focused her senses, trying to detect the location of the evil magic user. However, she soon realized that he had a powerful ability that made him completely undetectable. Saneko smiled.

She concentrated harder, pouring more energy into her detection ability. The barrier the magic user was using began to weaken, and Saneko's senses started to pick up on his location. Her determination grew as she pushed through the remaining resistance, finally breaking through the barrier and pinpointing the location of the evil magic user.

Saneko grabbed Pikku's hand and focused her magic, quickly teleporting them both to the location where she had detected the evil magic user's presence.
