"Sir, my name is Gavin. I usually do the overnight shift but there was a mix up on the schedule so I offered to stay. I do not normally see the hunters that work here. The usual guard that was supposed to be here wasn't actually scheduled. I didn't want this post to be left unattended so I am staying here as long as I am needed. It is odd for that to happen. I did try to contact the one above me but there was no answer." Gavin looked at Leo and relayed the information to him.
"I see there is nothing that we can do then. I will have to ask you to stay here until the replacement comes and if they do not come I want you to call my office and inform Asurlon. He will be in the office and we will arrange for you to get a break. You will be tired but do the best that you can." Leo turned and walked into the Alario's cell. "Good morning, Alario."
"Leo! It has been a while since they have allowed you to come and visit me. I was getting worried that something bad had happened to you." Alario stood up and walked towards Leo smiling.
"I met Scarlet. She is worried about you and she cried for you. I want you to promise me that you will not eat anything that was not brought to you by me. I do not want something bad to happen to you. I want you to know that things have changed and the Advocate will be coming here sometime this week. Also, I will be taking you home with me today. I am here working on the paperwork. I know it has been awhile. Someone was blocking me from being able to come and see you. That is no longer an issue as I am now the head of the association so I will be able to finally free you. Just wait for me to come to get you later."
"You have seen Scarlet and the Advocate? I have trusted you for a while now. I will do as you have requested. I will not eat anything that is not brought to me by you. If I am going to be freed there is no point in asking you if how my wife is doing. I will need to talk to the Advocate once I am freed." Alario looks at Leo and smiles.
"I am sure that she will want to chat with you as well. Kitty has been asking me to save you and unexpected things kept happening which was getting in the way of freeing you. Freeing you was one of my first goals. So, I am glad that I can follow through with this." Leo patted Alario on the shoulder.
Alario heard Kitty's name and he looked at Leo sharply, "what is your relationship with Kitty?"
"She is my wife to be and the mother of my child. It was an interesting twist of fate that brought us together." Leo lowered his voice and whispered in his ear, "I am one of her people now."
"I understand. I will wait for your arrival later. If someone who isn't you tries to bring me food I will throw it out." Alario stepped back, "you still have a lot of work to do so I will let you go get what you need to be done and I will see you later."
"Okay, stay safe and I will be back for you soon." Leo left the room and then walked past Gavin who was sitting in the booth. "Good luck, Gavin."
Thank you, Sir!" Gavin was brimming with happiness that the big boss had taken notice of him. 'I have almost never met with any of the big bosses here and now I have met the head of everything. I feel so blessed. I am glad that I decided to stay.'
Leo walked to the hidden passage and then went to his office. He could hear voices talking in the office. Leo opened the door and saw that Asurlon was sitting on the couch while talking to Ketan. Good morning, Asurlon. I will ask that you head the office and there seems to have been a mix up with the guards of the supernatural captives. The one named Gavin is there and will stay until his replacement comes but it seems that he worked all of last night so if you don't mind could you find someone to take over. Also, there is someone that will try to kill the captives so I want all food checked before they are fed and I have instructed Gavin to test as well."
Asurlon looked at Leo and smiled. "Of course. I will do that for you. I am worried that Gavin's judgment will be off so I will check up on him after I hunt down a replacement and if I can't find a suitable person I will ask him to go sleep for five hours at least that will be better than nothing. Ketan it was good learning about a different era from you."
"It was my pleasure. The way everything changes is really fascinating. Nothing is supposed to last forever but with the life of a vampire that is not the case. I live for as long as can to keep my self alive. That is not an easy struggle to deal with. Are you ready to go back home?" Ketan stood up and looked at Leo to see if it was time to leave.
"Asurlon, please call me when everything is processed for the release of Alario. I have four more places that I have to visit and when I am done I will set up an update so that everyone will get the memo and then we will select a team to extract the information that is left in the places. Also, have you found anything about any other properties?" Leo asks Asurlon as he looks at Ketan.
