"Ahh, that. Why don't we ask Director Han instead?" Si Weimin sat regally as he spoke in a domineering manner.

As if on cue, Director Han stood as he grabbed the microphone on the table, "I'm sorry for a little confusion. We really never want to keep this a secret but since everyone wants to know, let me present the male lead of Sweet Memories, Mr. Lou Daming."

A handsome man wearing a burgundy suit walked towards the stage. Lou Daming bowed before he sat beside Si Weimin.

Everyone was really surprised to see the award winning actor. The casts were also amazed to see him. They really thought that Si Weimin would be the male lead.

Even Xu Jia Li was stunned. She had no idea that Si Weimin would back out. She threw a questioning gaze at Si Weimin which was returned with a warm reassuring smile.

"I think everyone misunderstood that CEO Si will be the male lead since he was the executive producer of the movie." Director Han spoke in a good mood, laughing.

"N-no! That can't be! I was there during the meeting when you announced that Si Weimin would be the male lead!"

Qi Xenjin looked at Producer Zhang, she approached him and held his hand, "Producer Zhang, you're also there, right? You knew that Si Weimin is the male lead!"

Producer Zhang only grinned as he said, "Oh, Ms. Qi, you must be mistaken. Are you well?"

"N-no! You're all conniving with that bitch against me! You want me to look like I was lying!"

Qi Xenjin scanned the room and when she saw Li Yun, she ran to him, "Yun-ge, tell them the truth! You knew this as well, right? You were there with me! You were so mad about not being the male lead. You were angrier when you found it's Si Weimin!"

"Stop it, Xenjin! Have mercy on yourself." Manager Ho spoke on Li Yun's behalf since the expression on Li Yun's face could clearly tell that he lost all respect towards Qi Xenjin.

"You're all lying! W-why would I even have the idea to post that article if I didn't know?" Qi Xenjin went berserk as she kept screaming – losing all sense of rationality.

Hong Tingguang held Qi Xenjin, trying his best to stop her, "Xenjin, stop it. It's not helpful at all."

However, Qi Xenjin didn't listen as she yelled at him, "It was your fault! You mess things up for me!"

The reporters all focused their cameras towards Qi Xenjin. This scoop would sure sell like pancakes.

"Xu bitch! No matter what you do, you're still incompetent! Ha ha ha! You didn't even pass the initial selection! Ha ha ha!"

Xu Jia Li only smirked before she turned to Hong Tingguang, "Mr. Hong, I think you'd better ask your daughter to leave at least an ounce of dignity in her or else you can't blame me for being cruel. I'll spare her some space to breathe. It's the last ounce of mercy I can give her."

However, Qi Xenjin didn't listen and thought that Xu Jia Li was only bluffing. It only fueled her rage as she goaded,

"Ha ha ha! You think I'm scared of you? Why? Are you afraid to say that even if you sold your body to Si Weimin, he still didn't make you the endorser of Si Cosmetics?!" an evil laugh escaped her throat.

"That's enough!" Hong Tingguang slapped Qi Xenjin on the face.

"Y-you! How dare you lay your filthy hand on me?!" Qi Xenjin pushed and slapped Hong Tingguang, her long nails scratched on his skin.

Xu Jia Li couldn't take it anymore as she strode towards them, the three bodyguards following her behind.

Upon reaching the two, she grabbed Qi Xenjin and pushed her on the floor.

"I told you to stop, you ungrateful woman! You don't even have respect towards your father. How can we expect you to respect other people, too?"

After speaking through gritted teeth, Xu Jia Li signaled Zhen Nian to hand over another document to everyone inside the hall.

Everyone had a confused look on their faces as they perused the document.

"Oh my gosh! Is this true? The man in the pictures was a director in Si International!"

"I can't believe that Qi Xenjin would stoop this low! She keeps on saying that Xu Jia Li sold her body to climb up the ladder but it seems that she's the one doing it!"

"So the rumors that Xu Jia Li seduced Si Weimin are not true at all! This is really unbelievable!"

"Did she really sleep with this director so she could pass the selection? All the while we thought that she willingly gave up because of Xu Jia Li!"

"This is too much! Xu Jia Li actually passed the selection! The director intentionally pulled out Xu Jia Li's application."

"Ms. Qi, explain yourself! You slept with this director and schemed against Xu Jia Li. Have you no conscience? How can you be so manipulative?"

Hearing everyone's comments, Qi Xenjin's face changed. She looked as if the blood drained from her face. Her body trembled. Her fists were clenched and her jaw tightened.

"It's all over now. It's over." She cried quietly, still slumping on the floor.

The reporters that once praised her, threw nasty words at her. They all surrounded her like wolves on their prey. It was really human nature to further cause damage when one's all beaten down. Really, one should never hold on things that were ephemeral and would never last.

Hong Tingguang cried as he stood beside Qi Xenjin, his face swollen from the slaps he received from his daughter. There were nasty scratches on his face and neck.

He had no idea that their plan to destroy Xu Jia Li would back fire like this. He looked at Xu Jia Li with complicated emotion. He still didn't understand how she was able to get those information.

Xu Jia Li leaned a bit closer, she gazed at Hong Tingguang then at Qi Xenjin before she spoke with conviction, "When one wishes to play the wit, he sometimes wander away from the truth."

The people around them understood what Xu Jia Li meant. Their admiration towards her doubled. They respected her even more since she was able to clear her name.

Si Weimin stood while he fixed his lapel. He cleared his throat, trying to get everyone's attention. The cameras focused on him as he spoke firmly,

"Being the executive producer of this movie, I can decide who stays and who doesn't. Since Ms. Qi schemed against a fellow artist and also spread rumors about me, Ms. Qi will no longer be part of the movie. An official statement regarding this matter will be released today."
