Without thinking straight, she directly ran to her room. Too late for her to realize that her room was full of blood. She inhaled deeply, not minding the familiar rusty scent of the blood. Once again, she studied the bloodied floor, wall and bed.

Her mind could process her surroundings now that she was calmer. Though, the sight scared her at first, she was no longer feeling the same. Somehow, she became braver knowing that there were more things like this that would happen in the future.

She wanted to roam around the room but she couldn't walk all around it because of the blood. She just stood there thinking of the possibilities that whoever did that might have been planning it for so long.

She ran her hand through her hair as she suddenly realized that she needed to find a new place to stay. She knew that it was not safe for her to stay here anymore especially not now that whoever did this already knew her pass code.

She could go back to her house in Beijing but she was afraid that the press would have been there surrounding it especially now that the news of Si Weimin being the male lead had been leaked. She didn't want to deal with them now.

Little did she know that there was more to what she had known as it was just a speck in the surface. She was still oblivious to the fact that she had already been slandered.

Xu Jia Li thought that she could stay at Zhen Nian or Lan Meixu's place but she didn't want to intrude and be a burden to them.

'Where will I go? I just couldn't stay in their place,'

She scanned the room once again as she slumped on the floor. 'Everything seems to be going against my plan. I've waited for this time to happen yet when I'm almost there, things start to get murky.'

She was suddenly feeling cold as a gust of pungent cold breeze made her shiver. She unexpectedly missed the warmth of Si Weimin's embraces. She hugged her knees as she placed her forehead over them.

Deep in thought, a loud knock on the door made her jump, she immediately opened it and a worried Si Weimin entered her bedroom.

Upon seeing the gory sight in front of him, she saw how his eyes grew big as they protruded on their sockets. All of a sudden, the shock on his face was replaced by a fierce look as a deep frown showed on his face.

Xu Jia Li saw him clenched his fists as he scanned the room.

"What happened here? Who did this?"

Without answering, she abruptly grabbed his clenched fist and asked instead, "CEO Si, what are you doing here? Let's go outside, please."

She pulled his hand as she tried to lead him out of the room. However, Si Weimin didn't budge as he refused to move even an inch.

He was breathing heavily as anger brewed inside of him. He was gawking intensely on the bloodied surrounding. His shoulders were stiff, his back looked like a log as he stood there grimly.

He looked like someone who would erupt any minute. He turned his gaze away from the gory sight as he focused his gaze on Xu Jia Li.

The intensity of his gaze made Xu Jia Li shivered. He was furious, as he threw her questioning glare. His face was a mix of worry, fear and anger.

Xu Jia Li gasped as she felt a bit worried. Si Weimin looked like a husband who just caught his wife cheating. She shuddered at the thought. She moved her head down as she dropped his hand that she was holding just a while back.

She was suddenly scared to look directly at his eyes. His intense gaze felt like it could penetrate directly through her.

She turned pale because she was guilty of not telling him what happened. She really decided that she would not tell it to him. No matter what. She didn't really have plan of letting him know.

If it were not for Zhen Nian, Si Weimin wouldn't even know about it. Out of her stupor, she heard him said,

"When will be the time that you'll consider me as someone you can count on?" She could tell the hurt in his voice as it slightly broke. Still not looking at him, she remained silent.

"Can't you trust me at all?" Si Weimin held her chin as he lifted it so they were facing each other.

She tried to turn away her gaze but he held her in place as he continued with his pained expression,

"Why can't you trust me, Xu Jia Li? I'm so worried about you that my heart felt like it'd been stabbed knowing that you could've been in danger. This, I wouldn't know if Zhen Nian didn't call me. Why is it so hard for you to open up your heart for me? Why? What do I need to do for you to trust me?"

Tears were about to fall from her eyes when she saw how hurt he was. His words brought guilt and pain in her heart as she looked at his expressive black eyes.

She felt him caress her face as he continued, "I'm always here, Xu Jia Li. I hope that one day I could finally gain your trust. This is all too sudden but I'll never leave you alone. Just please, trust me."

The hot liquid she tried to suppress came flowing freely. The tears felt like they'd wanted to flow out of her eyes for so long.

She sniffed as she bowed her head. She never felt this safe and loved before. Her heart was filled with suppressed emotions, she felt like it was about to burst.

All of a sudden, warm arms enveloped her, she felt like a spell was cast on her as all the previous fear, sadness, doubt and anger seemed to vanish with him around. He had that ability to make her feel safe – making her forgot all her worries and fears.

Her sobbing became louder as he continued to stroke her back while whispering on her ears, "Xu Jia Li, I'll never leave you."

She cried even more as she buried her face on his chest. She grabbed his shirt tightly, pouring all the pain on that cry.

"There. There. Cry it all out, my cry baby." Si Weimin teased her as he kissed her forehead and the tip of her nose.

She couldn't help but pout as he continued to tease her, "Oh, my cry baby even stained my shirt. How do I punish her for it? Hmm. What should I ask as compensation?"

She heard him chuckle which put a smile on her tear-stricken face. She felt him hugged her tightly.

'Why does it feel like heaven? Even in this unsightly setting, just being with him feels so good.'

The two of them stayed embracing one another when they heard Shen Linqin spoke, "Ooohhh, it's really true that even with unsightly place, love still blossoms."

She laughed as she put her hands together in front of her chest, she continued teasing Si Weimin and Xu Jia Li, "Er, you two, please continue being lovey-dovey outside, let me clean this room, eh."

Zhen Nian's laugh could also be heard as they looked at the two of them teasingly.

Xu Jia Li's face turned beet red as she took Si Weimin's hand and led him outside. She could still hear Zhen Nian and Shen Linqin's laughter as they went out. Based from the unperturbed look on Shen Linqin's face, she knew that maybe Zhen Nian had already told her about the room.

She glanced their way and felt happy for having them in her life. Still holding Si Weimin's hand, they went to the living room which was already cleaned by the two women.

Even though the furniture had been damaged, the sofa was still usable so she led Si Weimin to sit. After the two sat down, Xu Jia Li leaned her back on the sofa and closed her eyes. She was too tired that she didn't want to move at all.

All the build-up exhaustion hit her. His presence made her loosen up her guard. She felt him held her head as he gently placed it on his lap. He caressed her face which made her opened her eyes.

She saw his eyes full of love as he asked, "Are you okay, love? You look so tired." His gentle voice made her heart swelled with unfamiliar emotions.

She blushed as she heard him continue, "I've read the other letter, like the one we got earlier. I've seen that these people who did this have ill intention on you. Any idea who did this?"

Xu Jia Li only nodded but didn't even say a word. Understanding her apprehension, he only stroked her hair and said, "Don't worry, love. I will always be here. You don't have to worry anymore."
