Xu Jia Li emerged out of the bathroom with a towel on her hair. She wore a light blue robe that had laces on the edge. She heard her phone vibrated. Before she could get it, she heard a knock on her door.

"Linqin, can you please look who's there outside?" Xu Jia Li shouted from her room.

Hearing no response, she took her phone and saw a message from Shen Linqin.

Shen Linqin: Li-jie, I will go home tonight since Manager Lan asked to meet me tonight. I took a cab and left your car on the parking. I was about to tell you but you were on the bathroom.

She dialed Shen Linqin's number to make sure that she came home safe but she wasn't answering.

She shook her head as she called Lan Meixu instead, disregarding the knocks on the door. She looked at the clock on her bedside table and saw that it was already twelve in the midnight. She didn't notice at all that she spent an hour and a half in the bathroom.

The knocks continued but she was already cautious and didn't want to open it carelessly.

"Xiao Li, what's wrong?"

"I just want to make sure that Linqin arrived home safe. She isn't answering my call."

"Oh, yeah. Don't worry about her, Xiao Li. I dropped her home after the task I asked her to do. She might be asleep already."

"I'm glad to hear that, Meixu-jie."

After the call ended, she walked towards the door and looked at the door cam. Her frown turned into a huge smile when she saw Si Weimin standing outside. She excitedly opened the door and said, "What brought you here, Mr. Arrogant Si?"

Instead of answering, Si Weimin grinned and entered inside. Once he closed the door, he immediately held Xu Jia Li's waist and pulled her closer to him, "Happy to see me?"

Xu Jia Li laughed as she landed a peck on Si Weimin's lips, "Very."

Si Weimin's eyes glittered with life. They were shining so brightly like the stars in the night as he gazed at Xu Jia Li. He missed her so much that he couldn't let the day passed that he didn't see her.

After talking to Ru Tengfei about the new hide out, he immediately drove to Evergreen Hot Spring and Resort. Although there was not any news about Thomas and the people behind the escape of the scarred man, he was not losing hope that they would uncover the truth.

Even the news about Xu Jia Li was nothing compared to the danger that the scarred man might bring them.

"What brought you here, honey? It's already late."

Instead of answering Xu Jia Li's question, he pulled her even closer before he kissed her deeply – pouring all his love to the kiss.

"I thought you want a better answer?"
