Li Yun stormed out of his room when he heard what happened. He ran so fast while his heart thumped erratically. He was damn worried about Xu Jia Li that he darted towards the scene.

Once he reached Meng Lulu's room, everyone had been accusing Xu Jia Li of the crime. He didn't know but his heart began to pound even faster when he saw Meng Lulu lying on the floor, unconscious. He knew it didn't look good.

His blood immediately boiled upon hearing the nasty things they were saying to Xu Jia Li, "Fuck off, all of you! Shut your dirty mouth off or I'll rip them up!!"

He glowered at them before he quickly made his way towards Xu Jia Li, "Are you okay?"

Xu Jia Li only nodded at Li Yun before her gaze returned to Meng Lulu. She felt it weird that the ambulance took so long to arrive. Twenty minutes had already passed. It felt like someone really wanted Meng Lulu to die just to convict her of the crime. She sneered inside, 'Great!'

"What happened here? Xiao Li, are you sure you're alright?" Li Yun gazed at Xu Jia Li before he glanced at Meng Lulu. The only hope Xu Jia Li had right now was to save Meng Lulu's life. He clenched his hands into a ball as he racked his brain, trying to make sense of what was happening.

"Xiao Li, I believe in you." He didn't know how the pumpkin cake suddenly had poison to it but he knew that someone framed Xu Jia Li.

"I'm okay, Yun-ge," Xu Jia Li smiled meaningfully before she looked around as her eyes scanned for one particular face in the room.

Suddenly, a loud commotion could be heard when Si Weimin arrived, behind him were three doctors and five nurses. His sharp eyes glared at Li Yun beside Xu Jia Li. The animosity in his gaze increased but when he saw Xu Jia Li's glittering eyes when their gazes met was enough to calm him down. Upon making sure that she was alright, he motioned the medical team to attend to Meng Lulu's needs.

"CEO Si, we're so glad that you're here," Director Han stood and greeted Si Weimin.

However, the cold and domineering Si Weimin ignored him as he stood on his spot. He had the urge to hug Xu Jia Li but he stopped himself. The news was too much that even all the reporters were outside the resort now. He was waiting on how Xu Jia Li would settle the issues by her own. He believed in her ability but he couldn't help but worry for her.

The medical team delivered first aid before the nurses carried Meng Lulu to the stretcher. One of the doctors stood and said, "We need to take her to the hospital. She's lucky that Miss Xu contacted us immediately before the poison further damages her organs."

Once Meng Lulu was taken out, the reporters were like hungry wolves as they took photos of the ambulance leaving the resort's gates.

The news about Meng Lulu being poisoned by Xu Jia Li enraged the netizens. Rotten tomatoes and eggs were thrown at the gate. It was so chaotic outside that the resort's owner already called the police to barricade outside.

Xu Jia Li left the moment Meng Lulu was taken out to the hospital. Shen Linqin followed behind her like a kid that had been traumatized. She felt bad for Shen Linqin because she knew how weak-hearted she was.

"Linqin, hurry up and rest," she patted Shen Linqin's head before she continued, "I'll need to make a phone call."

Shen Linqin only nodded as she ran fast. She couldn't help but shook her head upon seeing the pitiful posture of Shen Linqin.

She sighed deeply when she remembered Si Weimin. She didn't have the chance to talk to him since all eyes were on her. She took her phone as she secretly messaged him and thanked him for coming to her aid.

Earlier when she saw Si Weimin, she felt really touched. She knew that Si Weimin did that to somehow clear her name. In spite of this, the crews still condemned her of poisoning Meng Lulu.

She was walking back to her room when Tang Xie's loud scream could be heard at the back. She moved her head quickly. She saw Tang Xie suddenly running towards her while cursing her, "You bitch! What have you done to Lulu! You're the most despicable person I've known!"

Xu Jia Li raised her brow when she saw how incensed Tang Xie was. She couldn't really understand the woman's hatred towards her. Her eyes glinted when someone caught her sight. She stifled a laugh while she just let Tang Xie continued to curse her, letting the woman released her hatred.

"You're an evil woman! I will kill you!"

Tang Xie raised her hands to grab Xu Jia Li's hair but she was stopped by a cold and firm grip behind her. She turned her head around only to see the frightening man who slightly pushed her on the wall. The brewing anger in Si Weimin's eyes was enough to make Tang Xie quivered. It was like a mighty king had stopped his vile subject.

"C-CEO Si," Xu Jia Li whispered.

Si Weimin glanced lovingly at Xu Jia Li before he returned his gaze back at the bewildered Tang Xie. With clenched jaw and gritted teeth, he reiterated clearly, "You can be sued for physical injury and defamation of character. Before you open that filthy mouth, think carefully."

Tang Xie continued to tremble. Her eyes were bulging in disbelief. Her mouth opened then closed as it began chattering. How on earth did this man get here? She saw him leave with Director Han.

"It's all okay, CEO Si. Thank you," Xu Jia Li bowed her head a little, showing her gratefulness to Si Weimin.

"You're lucky I'm passing by, Miss Xu. Next time, be more careful."

When Si Weimin left, Xu Jia Li raised her brow at the mortified Tang Xie. She said, "How should I make you pay, Miss Tang? You've been deliberately destroying my name. What should I do with you, then?"

Si Weimin was still fuming with anger from what he saw. If only he could snap that woman's hand, his anger would subside even just a little. He was grateful that he left Director Han and followed Xu Jia Li.

He was so mad since this night was supposed to be the surprise party for Xu Jia Li. his heart ached so much for her. Tomorrow would be her birthday and yet she was pulled into nasty and degrading gossips.

"You can do it, love. I trust you."
