Legacy of Forgotten Times 175 Goddess of Lightning vs Stone of Night Pt. 3

[Ice Wall]

Linri stood there silently without looking away. Rina was not sure about what he was planning when she felt the electromagnetism in her feet weaken for a second. 

[Electric Slide]

Rina dashed towards her left and when she looked back she saw giant ice spikes poking through the wall. If she stood still there silently she would have been impaled by them!

"Haven't given up on your dirty tricks yet?" Rina said mockingly as she fired lightning bolts towards him.

"Coming from someone hiding on top of the walls doesn't make it convincing though," said Linri as he moved to his right dodging two lightning bolts but he was hit by the last one.

She had already factored in his [2x Exceptional Speed] so it was impossible for him dodged hem completely. He could only tank them but part of his armour was already destroyed. He couldn't mend it because that would make the armour weaker overall.

"This is called strategy," said Rina while charging a lightning bolt.

[Ice Wall]

"Then why can't this considered be one?" Linri said as another pile of ice spikes jumped from the wall forcing Rina to keep moving.

It was getting harder to move unobstructed in the walls because of the ice spikes and the needles. She could not dodge in close space and can only keep moving like a NASCAR racer. Having caught onto this fact Linri obviously wanted to cover the whole room in ice so that Rina would not be able to keep escaping from his attacks.

[Fast Lightning - Limit Break]

Rina finally finished charging her attack and shot it towards Linri.

The lightning bolt moved at [4x Extreme Speed] making it impossible for Linri to register it, let alone dodge it. By the time he had noticed he was already lying in the ground. The attack had accurately hit him where the armour had fractured so he was completely defenceless. Thankfully, it only carried [1.5 x Above-average Strength] or it would have hit him way more than just twelve.

Fuck! His health bar was almost empty if the bar reaches zero he was going to pass out. There was even a chance that he might die! This health bar only showed his body condition, it didn't indicate anything. There was a chance that he might even pass out when his health drops 35. It just gave a general idea of your body condition. If the perfect healthy version of his body was 100, the currently beat-up version of him was 36. So if let's say, Rina was able to hit him in the head she might take out his health pool in a single attack.

[Ice Wall] X 2

Linri created two ice walls on the walls to stop Rina from moving in a single direction. Which seemed to work. Right now, there wasn't a place left in this whole room where she could move linearly. The pay off was that he only had 50 prana left so this was limited the number of times he could attack her.

[Static Cling]

Instead of keep running on the walls, Rina jumped to the roof and looked down at Linri from there. This created an awkward situation for Linri, not because she was in the ceiling and he couldn't reach her or that kinda stuff. No, he could actually hit her more easily now that she was finally standing still. It was for an entirely different reason.

"You are aware that you are hanging upside down from the ceiling right? While wearing a skirt..." Linri said awkwardly.

"It's alright! I am wearing briefs!" said Rina seemingly not bothered by that.

However in Linri's mind that didn't make any sense. Weren't briefs also underwear? Then what was the difference between that and panties? Actually, can't the same question apply to bikinis as well? Bikinis were also basically underwear but for some reason, women were fine with them being seen while if you caught a glimpse of their underwear you were a pervert. Like WTF! What was the fucking difference? Can someone please enlighten him?

[Impact Bolt]

As Linri was standing still thinking of a philosophical question that plagued the mind of every single male humanoid species he was hit by a lightning bolt and due to the force of the attack, he rolled on the ground. Lightning was still coursing through his body and the residue it left behind on his body made it extremely hard for him to move. Even if he used his full strength he guessed he might move at [1.5x Above-average Speed] at most. 

The fact that the whole room was made of steel didn't help him either. Each step he took his legs would be paralyzed by the electricity coursing through them. With each of Rina's attack more and more electricity built up inside the room and if it went any longer the whole room would be just a giant battery that constantly shocked him.

"Why don't you give up? I feel like I am bullying a child" said Rina while looking at the Linri who was lying down on the ground. His armour had finally shattered with that last attack making her see his condition. Almost half his body was charred black and even a part of his hair had burnt off. There wasn't a speck of the handsome mischievous boy left. He seemed like a fire victim you can find in the intensive care units in a hospital. 

Rina was not a bloodthirsty murderer if possible she did not want to kill him with her own hands but due to cruel fate, only one of them can walk out of this room alive. After all, she went through Rina refused to die but that didn't mean she was ready to kill someone either.

[Ice Manipulation]

Linri got up from the ground whit great struggle and used his manipulation ability to bring back the ice sword which flew out of his hand just now. He pointed towards the ceiling.

[Ice Wall]

"If you have the guts come and kill me yourself," Linri said as blood dripped from the corner of his lips. His chest was in great pain and he could feel his heart beating erratically. That can't be a good sign. If he was not wrong that was the sign of a heart attack!

Ice spikes appeared under Rina's feet and she stopped her [Static Cling] skill to start a free fall towards Linri. A sword made out of goldish lightning materialized in her hands.

[Weapon of Lightning]

The sword became even brighter. This should be her final attack Linri thought. However just as she started to fall a disgusting smile appeared on his face. Now that she was falling down there was no way that she could dodge right?

[Icicle Strike] X 3

Three giant icicles appeared above Linri and made their way towards Rina with exceptional speed. There was no way that she could dodge this attack. Since she was in the air she would not be able to use [Electric Slide] who knew that she could be such an idiot and gift him the win like that. If even a single one of those icicles managed to pierce her Linri would use [Ice Manipulation] to ravage her internal organs.

However, despite seeing the icicles Rina's expression did not change. Did she really make a mistake? Of course not! 

[Impact Bolt] X 3

As Rina was falling down she threw three lightning bolts accurately aimed at Linri's icicles and crashing them head-on. As a result, all three of the icicles were shattered. Linri's face looked like he could not believe it. How? What? Why? He was having trouble finding words to describe his feelings. Was he really going to die here? Was this the end of his journey? Hell no! Even if he was out of prana and could not cast any more skills there was still one move he hadn't used yet.

[Ice Net]

As the shattered ice pieces were falling down they started to move again like they had gained a new lease on life! They moved like they were liquids and wrapped around Rina. All of the shattered ice pieces had become like fine silk and because of their ice property they were extremely sharp and the moment they wrapped around her, they started to dice Rina's fair skin along with her clothes. 

This was another move Linri discovered in his fight against Udcek. It was extremely useful in decapitating skeletons en masse but unfortunately, he didn't like using it that much. Because he was manipulating each and every shattered ice piece individually it was extremely hard to aim but against a single target, it actually became easier.

Rina tried to melt the ice net covering her but her sword wasn't fast enough and she didn't have time to create another [AoE Lightning] before hitting the ground!

Linri heard a loud crack as he crashed into the ground head first. Well, it was her fault anyway, who told her to act cool and jumped down from the ceiling. If she had died for breaking her neck Linri was definitely not taking responsibility. No sir!

He looked at Rina and saw that her eyes were closed and there was a giant gash on her head and blood was trickling down from there. Since Linri did not want to actually kill her he used [Ice Manipulation] to move part of his ice net to stitch her wound. He did not know if it would leave a scratch since he wasn't medically trained but it was better than having a giant wound on your head!

After finally being done with that Linri sat down.

"I have won! Why don't you announce my win GM?" Linri shouted towards nowhere. Honestly, he was still feeling tingly all over his body. 

"Who said it was over yet?" said the mysterious voice

*Crackle* *Crackle*

Linri turned back to see Rina covered in lightning. The lightning coursing through her body was melting the net he used to tie her up. Fuck! Even falling from the ceiling wasn't enough to knock her out? You gotta be shitting me!

*Cough* *Cough* *Cough*

As she got up steam was rising all over her body and she was vehemently coughing. Were her lungs punctured by broken ribs? Then she must be on her last breath! He still had a chance to win this thing! He just needed use [Ice Manipulation] and gather all the ice walls lying around and create one giant shield to block her attacks and wait for her to die. He didn't like the idea of killing her but he was sure as hell not want to die either. If she wants to die that badly, she can kill herself!

"I did not want to use this since I haven't mastered it yet but you left me with no choice," said Rina as she was wheezing. Wait! Could it be? She took out a little metal coin from her pocket and aimed it towards Linri. 

All the residue electricity in the surroundings gathered towards her palm and into the coin. She flicked it towards him.

[Ex-Burst - Lightning Railgun] !!!!

The coin pierced Linri's chest at [5x Burst Speed]!

He fell to the ground with a giant hole in his torso. It was smouldering and because the lightning cauterised the wound there wasn't a single drop of blood. Linri was looking at her with disbelief. His eyes had returned back to their normal azure blue colour but now they were lifeless. He wasn't breathing nor was his heart beating. He was dead for real. He had failed. You can't go against your fate. Linri could never win against Rina that was written in the logs of the club with countless examples. Why did he have to be such an idiot to challenge what was already predestined?

Just like Linri after firing her railgun Rina fell down to the ground. That took almost everything from now. She guessed she wouldn't be able for the next 10 seconds that was why she hadn't noticed that Linri's bracelet had to come life and bit him!
