Legacy of Forgotten Times 144 I just wanna punch him!

"So what am I supposed to do?" Drake asked in curiosity. To be honest, Linri seemed more nervous than him about this whole situation.

"Nothing, darling. Just sit there and watch the wheel," said Ms. Valerie and the wheel started to turn.

"Listen to my voice. Relax. The world around is a dream. You are sleeping. When I snap my finger you will be fully asleep."

*Snap*

Drake's eyelids slowly closed.

"Write down the keyword," Ms. Valerie told Linri and Kiki handed him a paper and pen.

Linri gulped. He was still wondering if he should do this, but even if he didn't write it down she could learn the word from Drake. To hell with it! Linri wrote down the keyword and passed the paper.

"Drak,e listen to me closely. My voice will guide you. When I say the word all the walls on your mind will collapse. Radiant."

Drake's expression changed. He looked like he was in pain.

"Relax. You are with friends. No one can hurt you. Now when I snap my fingers you will wake up. Three, two, one."

*Snap*

Drake slowly came to himself and looked around him.

"So did it work?"

"Yes, it did! I can finally remember who I am now!" said Drake with clear joy in his voice.

Linri was relieved. Thankfully nothing had gone wrong.

"Okay, if you have nothing else to say you can leave now," said Ms. Valerie like a queen excusing her subjects.

After getting out of the room they walked in silence for a while before Linri finally said something.

"Sooooo, how much do you remember?"

"Everything," said Drake. His tone was stiff. That was weird, he seemed happy just now, so why did he seem so downtrodden?

"You shouldn't have done that."

"Do what?"

"You shouldn't have tried to make me the main personality."

"Why? Don't you want to control your own body?"

"*Sigh* You wouldn't understand. It's not that I wasn't able to come out whenever I wanted. I just chose not to. What you just did only served to destroy what I built. The personalities didn't even vanish and now they each have my memories. *Sigh*"

"And you didn't tell me something so important?"

"If I did would you just let me hide in there?"

"No."

"See? That's why I haven't told you! I was just happy that way and now you had to go and ruin it. You didn't even get rid of the personality problem. Arghhhh, do you know how it feels like to live with copies of yourself, do you?"

"I claim no responsibility. I was just trying to help my friend."

"That's why I haven't punched you yet."

Then Drake reached out his hand.

"What?"

"My money."

"Hell no! I told you that, even if you get your memories, I wasn't going to return the money!"

"Give me my money back, you fucking swindler! Worse of all, you swindled me with something you learnt from me."

"No," said Linri and started to dash away from Drake.

"Hey you- Comeback!" said Drake and also ran after him.

It was a surprise to him that Linri wasn't able to shake him off. Drake actually had the same speed-related stats as him.

You see, in the club, when you are creating a character you started off with 10 CP: in other words, character points. Buying a primary ability cost 6 CP while buying a secondary ability cost 4 CP. Also levelling your attributes to the next level cost 1 CP.

When he created Drake, TBB didn't buy a secondary ability and instead invested the remaining CP into attributes: [2x Exceptional Speed] and [2x Exceptional Agility]. He found that necessary since he made Drake's ability to work on short-range. You couldn't throw explosions like a fireball, so yeah.

Back to the current events, Linri was still running and Drake was still chasing. When he took a turn Linri finally saw a glimmer of hope. Kris was there talking to Kou.

"Help me!" said Linri and hid behind Kris. Thankfully he finally got a meat shield!

"Come back!" shouted Drake and tried to grab Linri who hid behind Kris.

Kris, on the other hand, was dumbfounded.

"Stop! What's going on?"

"He took my money!"

"I did not! You gave it to me yourself!"

"STOP!" Kris honestly felt like he was dealing with a bunch of kids. They were just chasing each other for a meagre amount of money? Also, Linri was currently poor financially so he might be needing it.

"Okay tell me how much he took from you and I will pay for him," said Kris. He was imagining himself to be a cool looking big brother.

"200 Million Yoki."

... Kris almost coughed up blood.

"Are you sure you didn't mean 200 Thousand?" he asked just to be sure.

"Yeah, I am sure. Now give me back my money!"

"We had a deal, you gave it to me yourself!" said Linri and this time hid behind Kou.

"I don't care!"

"STOP!" Kris shouted once more. "What's going on? Start telling me from the scratch!"

So Linri told him the story of how he helped lift the brainwashing off of Drake but was stopped midway.

"No fucking way! You didn't help for shit! I still have my sub-personalities, so how did you plan work?!"

"Yes way! You can switch between them anytime you want, can't you? They now also have your memories, so no need to thank me. This money is already a reward in itself!"

"Wait wait wait! So you already solved Drake's problem?" Kris asked.

"Yeah, who do you think I am? Of course, I solved it!" Linri said with pride.

"Then he earned the money. Isn't that right Ai?" said Kris. He was like an adult talking to a child.

"Maybe, but I still want to punch him," said TBB.

Kris put his hand over Drake's shoulder.

"Don't worry, my friend. We all do want that," he said while nodding his head.

While they were talking about punching him Linri tried to sneak away, but Kout grabbed him.

"Where do you think you are going?"

"Me? Nowhere in particular" said Linri while dodging eye contact.

Fuck,  they were going to gang up on him! He needed to find a way to escape.

"Look! Kekkei is doing something ridiculous!" Linri pointed somewhere random.

All three turned to look and Linri took that opportunity to escape and start running again.

"He is running away! Catch him!" said Kris. He was the first one to notice it thanks to his secondary ability.

Drake and Kou dashed after him.

Fuck! What did he do to deserve this?!... On second thought, don't answer that question. He was well aware of how much of a dick he was so they were probably right about wanting to lynch him.

Linri ran past Fosse who was having a chat with Jaime. Normally, he would stop and ask for help, but, if they learnt that the others were going to beat him up, Jaime would helm the ship and lead them.

The two just looked at Linri confused. What was he running from? Then Kou and Drake also ran past them. She got curious so caught up to them quickly with her [3x Superior Speed].

"Why are you guys chasing him?"

"We just want to beat him up!"

Jaime gave a sweet smile.

"Then let me help you with that!" then she accelerated and caught up to Linri.

"Are you going to stop yourself or do you want me to do it myself?"

Linri started to think as fast as he could. There was no way that he could outrun Jaime and there was also no way that she would let him go.

"Fine," said Linri in a defeated tone and slowly decreased his speed. If he suddenly stopped at that speed he would break his ankles: that was why Jaime or Kou didn't just trip him. Considering Kou was a wind mage she should have countless ways to just make him fall down.

When he stopped, Linri saw Drake and Kou walking towards him slowly. They were cracking their knuckles.

"Guys, guys, we can talk about this. There is no need to get violent, right?"

"You should have tought about that before calling my sister a bitch!" said Kou.

"But she is one! Everyone here would agree right?"

Jaime and Drake nodded their heads.

"Okay, I just want to hit you because you are annoying!" Kou changed her reason.

"Me? I am the least annoying guy around? Just look at Drake, he always has random mood swings!"

Jaime restrained Linri from behind. He tried to struggle, but her strength attribute was higher than his. She whispered in her ear.

"Just give up. I know you don't mind pain."

"But it still hurts my pride!"

Before Linri could say anything else, he was punched in the stomach: the event that will be henceforth known as Beat the Asshole has started.
