Legacy of Forgotten Times 130 Survive

When he finally made it to the ground floor Linri was greeted by the sight of Natsumi running away from someone. However something felt wrong, Linri could not see the man's pupils. His eyes were all white. There was also something bothering him about the man but he did not know why.

[Heat Vision]

The world was painted in the shades of red and blue. Thankfully he could still use his abilities. It would be embarrassing if he tried to shoot his flames and seeing nothing come out. By this time Natsumi had already noticed him and she was running towards where he was. She was crying for some reason. Was the man a rapist? Anyway, it was not his problem even if he was, so for now, he just needed to subdue him.

Linri finally paid attention to the man chasing her and he was surprised. His body was mostly blue with shades of green here and there, meaning his body temperature was somewhere between 0 C° and 20 C°. Mind you a normal person had a body temperature of 37 C°. It shouldn't be possible for a person's body to be this cold unless the weather was freezing or the person was already dead. Linri was clearly suspecting the latter. Maybe Udcek was really attacking the school and this was a member of his undead army? Anyway, he couldn't kill what was already that so there was no need to hold back!

[Fire Bullet] X 3

Linri shot three bullets to the undead's head and watched it fall to the ground. The bullets had pierced his head scattering brain all over the ground. This was interesting. He did not know that this ability had piercing properties. Then again it had bullet in its name so it shouldn't be that surprising. When he was deep in thought Natsumi jumped into his arms and started crying. Too bad that she was as flat as a board compared to Chesa. Why didn't everyone in this school had giant boobs anyway? If he had ever made a girl character he would have definitely given her giant boobs but that was his preference. 

"Shhhhh, calm down... everything is okay... now slowly tell me about what happened" Linri said while patting Natsumi's head. He was no player but these days he really got good at comforting crying girls. Well, it was mostly because he was the reason they started crying in the first place but that was not the point.

"Ay wash schleepyng and *sniff* he *sniff* attaycked me" Linri frowned. This was not what he wanted to hear. He needed more details.

"Okay, okay, calm down. He is gone now. Look, he can't hurt you anymore. So tell me everything from the top without missing any details" He kept on comforting her.

Natsumi finally calmed down and started telling him everything that had happened.

"Sorry about that. Well, I found myself sleeping in the dormitory hall. It was weird because I didn't remember sleeping there. Then I went upstairs to my room but my roommate Ashley wasn't there. I didn't pay any heed to it thinking she went out for a run. She does that every morning you know. Then I laid on the bed for a quick nap since there was still time till the classes start. When I was about to sleep I heard this loud knock on the door like someone was banging it. I thought it might be her and she forgot her keys, again. When I opened the door that abomination attacked me. I am not good with combat. I can mostly heal others or buff them so I ran away. You know the rest" Natsumi explained. Still, this did not explain why she was crying. She was holding her left arm with her right hand. Maybe it was because she found it hard to talk about her experience but it didn't sound that way. Anyway, that was not important for now.

Her story was similar to what had happened to him except for the part where she got attacked. The plot thickens. Udcek was a god of death so he shouldn't have the power to force people to sleep or mess with their memories. Then again, he could invade his dreams so who knows? Fuck my overly edgy teenager mind! Why would you give the God of Death power the invade others' dreams? At the time it was cool foreshadowing but it stopped being funny a long time ago. He swore that if he could go back in time he would give himself a good beating. You were not cool okay!? So stop trying to act so edgy all the time you goddamn idiot!

"Okay then. We should go" Linri said as he got up from the ground. Linri took one last look at the dead body in the ground. It felt like he was missing something but he did not know what. Anyway, it was not his problem now so he did not need to think about it.

"Go where?" 

"To the teachers of course. Honestly, I don't understand what's going on but that crazy bi- *ahem* I mean highly respected Ms Snow or that ancient pervert Richard should know what's going on" Linri said as he started to make his way towards the dormitory.

The teachers lived in the same place as the students but they lived on the ground floor while students took the upper ones.

The Duo slowly made their ways into the dormitory. Natsumi was like a little scared puppy. She would jump at Linri at the littlest of sounds. He was annoyed by her honestly. I mean yeah sure, you just had a traumatic experience but you don't have to be so jumpy all the time. He had already killed the assailant for god's sake. What did she expect that another one was going to pop out all of a sudden?

*GROWL*

Another undead jumped on Linri from behind one of the trees. He was not expecting it so he reflexively used [Flame Shield]. The moment undead tried to take a bite out of him it burst in flames and turned to ash.

"WHAT THE FUCK!!" Linri screamed. His hand was over his heart. It was beating furiously. That flame shield had wasted half the battery of his gauntlet. He didn't have any spares with him either. Fuck!! He had done it again. Because of his arrogance, he almost died, AGAIN! What the fuck was wrong with him!? Wasn't this the same thing that happened just three days ago? Didn't he learn anything from that?

"We should go faster" Linri said the moment he started to hear some rustles coming from the trees. It was probably the wind but he didn't want to take any more chances. He seriously wanted to apologise to Natsumi for looking down on her but thankfully he didn't say anything rude to her so it saved him the embarrassment. 

When they arrived at the dormitory Linri thanked Solas and Lozna. He finally relaxed and opened the door and immediately blood drained from his face. The place was crawling with undead. Due to the noise he made, when he opened the door all the undead turned towards him. There were at least 100 of them in the entrance. BLOODY FUCKING HELL!!!!!! Just what was wrong today!! Was he a demon lord in his previous life? Why did he have to be so unlucky today!?

Linri closed the door and started running backwards where he came from at full speed. Natsumi did not see inside the dormitory but the moment she saw Linri ran she followed after him without thinking. She was too scared to stay alone.

"Wait! What happened!" Natsumi shouted behind him. She was having trouble catching up to Linri's speed. He slowed down to match her speed. 

"The whole school is under attack and the worst part is we have already lost" Linri said through his teeth. He was genuinely angry at himself. He knew that this place was crawling with danger but he did not think that it would fall so soon. He was blaming himself. Maybe Old Man James was supposed to protect this place from the dangers but he drove him away. So the school fell from this disaster. Everything was his fault. It was the butterfly effect. He shouldn't have tried to be a good guy. He should have just let everything go the way it was supposed to.

"What do you me" Linri suddenly stopped and Natsumi crashed into his back.

They were surrounded by those pesky undeads. When Natsumi looked at where Linri was looking her face was drained of colour too. No, it was not because they were in danger of dying. It was because who those monsters were. They were the students of the school!!!

Of the group that barricaded their way, Linri could recognise a couple of them. There were Drake, Hayato and even that guy he met at the ceremony Zeek. They were all covered in blood and had white lifeless eyes. At this point, it was more appropriate to call them zombies rather than undead.

"What are we going to do?" Natsumi asked while her voice was shaking. It was a wonder that she did not pee herself then and there. She was not a fighter. In game terms, she was more of a cleric so if Linri could not save her she would just be a meal for those zombies.

"Survive" Linri said and took a deep breath. Emotions were always a distraction so he discarded everything including his anger and fear. He needed to find a way. He always found a way! His brain was working in full-speed. Suddenly, flames appeared deep in his azure-blue eyes.

[Hell Hound]

A dog made out of Fire materialised in front of him and Linri started to follow it with his full speed after lifting Natsumi up for a princess carry. You see when he first created this ability. He had always thought it was just a single target attack. However [Hell Hound] was an AOE ability if you could utilise it properly. He had found this out in an unpleasant way.

The dog made out of fire ran through the zombies turning them into ashes and dissipated after finally hitting its target. You see, whenever it attacked its target, the dog would always take the shortest distance. That meant it would also hurt the ones in its way be it an ally or an enemy. He learnt that the hard way when that bastard Muffin used it as a way to hurt Linri's allies during a fight just to spite him. I guess he owed him a thanks. Of course, the best way to do that would be to find his character, Rondo, and burn it to ashes with this very ability. What can he do? He was a petty person after all.

Thanks to the dog they had a clear path out of the zombie circle!
