Heavenly Star Chapter 115

What a coincidence, when Long Yin brought Long Huang-er to the Ye residence, Ye Wuchen had just returned with Tong Xin. Long Yin had just come down from his imperial palanquin, when he saw Ye Wuchen standing in front of the gate with a look of surprise directed at him. He had a moment of stiffness to his expression, but he headed forward smiling.

“Wuchen greets Your Majesty. Your Majesty has the time to come to visit our Ye residence?” Ye Wuchen slightly bent at the waist. Tong Xin was hanging unmoving from his back, as if she was asleep.

Long Yin laughed, then nonchalantly said, “I came here naturally because of some matters. Oh? Who is this girl in your arms?”

Ye Wuchen somehow felt embarrassed, with a bit of shyness he said, “This is my newly adopted sister. She will be staying in our Ye residence from now on.”

“Oh…” Long Yin nodded, then smiled and said, “I have heard that the young master of the Ye Family is quite fond of very young girls. This rumor is indeed true, hahahaha!”

Ye Wuchen slightly smiled, but had no intend to explain.

That Ye Wuchen had survived this long filled Long Yin’s mind with suspicion. He knew that Tao BaiBai had already arrived this morning. Based on what a guard from the east city gate had reported, Ye Wuchen had been chased in that direction by Tao BaiBai.

But now he was safely standing here, even the clothes on his body was undamaged. What could this mean?

“Ah! It’s him! It’s him!”

A high pitched yell, followed by a young woman dressed in palace white robes jumping down from her palanquin. Standing beside Long Yin, she pointed at Ye Wuchen with an unruly face, “Father, it’s him… He was the one who bullied me that day!”

The Emperor’s had spread throughout the entire Ye Family by the guards at the gate. The members of the Ye Family had rushed out, including Ye Wuyun, only to see Princess Fei Huang hiding behind the Emperor and angrily looking at Ye Wuchen. For a moment, they thought the scene to be funny. They obviously knew of the prior conflict between Princess Fei Huang and Ye Wuchen.

After their greetings, they respectfully welcomed the Emperor and the Princess inside the Ye residence. Wang Wenshu asked with concern, “Chen-er, where were you? You didn’t even return home for lunch. I searched everywhere for you. And… who is this little one?”

Tong Xin was still hanging from his shoulders still in a very deep sleep.

“It’s nothing. I met an evil man and played for a while. I met this little girl in the eastern side of the city and she continued to follow me. She doesn’t have anywhere to go, so I brought her home to accompany Xue-er.” Ye Wuchen said nonchalantly.

“Oh? Evil man? What kind of evil man could dare to bully the Ye Family’s Young Master?” Long Yin said jokingly.

Ye Wuchen carelessly curled his mouth and said, “Some unimportant person. My teacher left me many enchanted devices to use to protect my life, so I wouldn’t be scared even if there comes one ten times more powerful than him.”

These words were obviously said for Long Yin to hear. Indeed, an alarming expression had flashed through his face momentarily, and he billowed internally.

Ye Wei seemed to have read between the lines, knitted his brows and said, “Chen-er, what happened? Someone tried to hurt you?”

Wang Wenshu upon hearing these words, suddenly felt nervous.

“As I’ve said, it’s nothing. Just a small fight, so no need to be worried.” Ye Wuchen carelessly said. He turned to face Long Yin and apologized, “As for the situation this morning, Ye Wuchen might have caused Your Majesty some inconvenience.”

Long Yin nodded, “Indeed you have brought me so much trouble. Ai, you should be blamed for this, who told you to be so outstanding? Even the daughter of General Hua has been so deeply in love with you. But it’s alright to give a pair of lovers a chance. It’s okay if I had to become a person who breaks promises just this once.”

Ye Wei immediately bent down and said, “Your Majesty, you words are serious. For your approval for my son, the Ye Family will be forever thankful for Your Grace. We will bear it deeply in our minds.”

“Hahahaha,” Long Yin waved a hand, “Just forget it. I just came with Huang-er to meet her future husband. You must treat my Huang-er well when she enters the Ye Family three years from now.”

Before Ye Wei could answer, Long Huang-er jumped as if she was pricked by a needle. Everybody expected her to yell “I don’t want to marry”, but Long Huang-er shouted words that surprised everyone.

“No! I don’t want to marry him after three years; I want to marry him now!!”

She stuck out a white and tender finger to point at Ye Wuchen.

Ye Wuchen could not help caressing his own face, mumbling to himself, ‘Was my charm so strong that it has reached this extent?’

After a long moment of silence, Long Yin asked probingly, “Huang-er, what did you just say?”

“I want to marry him now!” Long Huang-er repeated. Her face showed that she was acting rashly, and somewhat craftily.

Ye Wuchen looked at the small Princess with amusement. The smile on his face made Princess Fei Huang feel that he was a big grey fox staring at a tiny sheep.

“Hahahaha…” Long Yin laughed a while, then said, “Huang-er, didn’t I say it so? Upon seeing each other, you have agreed. But three years is three years. Even though I am more excited than you, there’s no such thing as little princess getting married at a very young age.”

“No, I just want to marry him, that way I can……”

“Absolutely not!”

Those of the Ye Family looked at each other with doubts. They were unclear on what was going on here.

“Then… can I come here to play more often?” Long Huang-er forced to her second choice, asked while she stared.

“Certainly not, a princess cannot be running around the house of her future husband. What kind of situation is that?” Long Yin said shaking his head.

“Then… then… then I want him to protect me on my way to the school!” Reapeating the word “then” for almost half day, Princess Fei Huang’s eyes eventually lighted up, before blurting the words out.

This time, Long Yin did not decline. He shifted his gaze to Ye Wuchen, and asked, “Wuchen, are you willing to fulfil this request? Just in time, Huang-er is learning painting at the Tian Long Imperial Institute. With your outstanding ability, I will be at ease regarding her safety if you are beside her. And by means of painting skills, you could easily help her complete that course earlier.”

What Long Yin failed to mention was that Long Huang-er attended the Tian Long Imperial Institute sparingly. In ten days, she might only attend one single day, as she was used to skipping the lecture. This had caused many of Long Yin’s headaches but there was nothing he could do. If she were alone with a teacher, the outcome would be seriously worse for the teacher, who  would suffer under her tricks.

There are other things that Long Huang-er could not do well. She had trouble learning words, but the methods she used to trick people had reached a supreme level; they could be regarded as endless, dazzling, and varied.

Ye Wuchen was lucky enough to become her next target. They would have no idea who would actually suffer.

“Wuchen will surely obey Your Majesty’s command.” Ye Wuchen answered without any delay. Based on this situation before his eyes, he did not have any choice.

Long Huang-er, who was hiding behind Long Yin’s, could not help but secretly laugh.

When Long Yin and Long Huang-er left, Ye Nu turned to Ye Wuchen with a serious face and furrowed brows. “Chen-er, what’s going on? Was there a plan to assassinate you?”

Ye Wei also nodded with a serious face, while the worried Wang Wenshu carefully checked Ye Wuchen from head to toe, then heaved a sigh of relief. She did not know that the one and only spot on his body that had bloodstains was covered by Tong Xin who was still in his arms.

Ye Wuyun, who had been silent all throughout, perked his ears.

“Indeed there was someone who tried to kill me. Moreover, he was known as the number one killer in Tian Long City, Tao BaiBai.” Ye Wuchen simply said.

“What!?” Ye Nu and Ye Wei were both surprised. How could they not know Tao BaiBai’s name? He was a legend in the world of killers, under one of the seven God-Level Masters in the Tian Long Nation. He had never missed a single assassination target he was assigned.

“So he…”

“He’s already dead.” Ye Wuchen said in summary.

“Dead!? Did you kill him?” Ye Nu asked alarmingly.

Ye Wuyun tried to maintain his tranquility, but internally he was wildly palpitating, as if he did not believe his ears. If Ye Wuchen was not standing right there, lively and unwounded, he might have thought it was some kind of joke.

Ye Wuchen laughed, “I have mentioned previously that my teacher had left me many life-saving tools. Even the strongest tricks of Lin Yan couldn’t beat me, so how could Tao BaiBai, who had the same level as him, beat me?

Ye Wei and Ye Nu quieted down. They knew how hard it was to beat a Heaven-Level Master, let alone to kill one. It could be regarded as more difficult than ascending to heaven. The death of Tao BaiBai would bring a very big shock to Tian Long Nation as well as the entire Heavenly Star Continent.

What they were concerned about right now, however, was who would hire a killer like Tao BaiBai to assassinate Ye Wuchen. Could it be those people who wanted the Ye Family to become extinct, making it impossible investigate as to who they were?

“Chen-er, who do you think has harmful intentions against you?” Ye Wei asked coldly. His fear still lingered and his fury was slowly igniting. If Ye Wuchen had no devices from the God of Sword, the Ye Family would have had to face extinction once again. Even now, they still had no idea who was targeting the Ye Family.

Ye Wuchen shook his head and said, “I don’t know. Only the Lin Family has conflict with me, but that wasn’t some irreconcilable animosity. The Lin family would not have such a strong impulse as to hire a killer to murder me without considering the outcome. Or maybe…” Ye Wuchen’s eyes flickered, and said, “Could it be the Royal Family of the Gale Nation?”

“For what reason?”

“If Tao BaiBai was to successfully kill someone of the Ye Family, what will be the outcome?” Ye Wuchen asked a rhetorical question.

“Our Ye Family would certainly spend all our efforts to eliminate the Thousand Murders Pavilion.” Ye Wei said resolutely and decisively.

Ye Wuchen nodded, “That’s right. Based on our Ye Family’s strength, eliminating the Thousand Murders Pavilion is not a difficult thing. Tao BaiBai wouldn’t risk the danger of assassinating me, unless someone could provide a huge monetary reward, as well as protect the Thousand Murders Pavilion. One with such capability, and who also hates our Ye Family, could only be the Royal Family of the Gale Nation. If I guessed right, since the assassination failed, the Thousand Murders Pavilion would move to Gale Nation, to making us unable to take revenge.”

Ye Wuchen finished his word, then glanced at Ye Wei and Ye Nu. Whether they would suspect the Royal Family of Tian Long Nation or not, was up to them. Though, this possibility was considerably uncertain and Ye Wuchen evidently could not tell them the truth.

He used his peripheral vision to glance at the uneasy Ye Wuyun, then laughed coldly in secret.

Ye Wei and Ye Nu were both silent. Ye Wuchen said, “Her name is Tong Xin, from now on she will stay at my place.”

“En, as you wish.” Ye Wei said, still pondering. He did not think much on these kinds of matters.

“I have been running around for half of the day. Now, I feel tired.”

“Chen-er, you go rest. Let me and your grandpa think on this since this matter really concerns the safety of our Ye Family. In the afternoon, I will strengthen our defense, then discuss this with the Emperor.” Ye Wei then sighed.

Ye Wuchen nodded, then left carrying Tong Xin in his arms still. Although he did not have much hope, if Ye Wei intended to discuss with the Emperor, his hints were undoubtedly useless. This was not surprising, as the men of the Ye Family were always loyal, to no one’s benefit…
