Heavenly Star Chapter 112

The pair of eyes were quite familiar, because a few days ago the moment these eyes appeared in his mind, it had already been deeply engraved into his mind. It appeared in his dreams, and no matter how hard he was trying to banish or forget it, his attempts had failed.

Today, was his first time to directly come into contact with the eyes. His eyes did not belong to him anymore, because when he tried to close his eyes or to divert his attention, it was to no avail. He had no other option but to look directly to the eyes… and it was not only his eyes, but his whole body as well did not belong to him anymore. He cannot even lift one of his fingers and he is unable to make a sound, as if his soul had been separated from his body.

Ye Wuchen’s heart rapidly sank, because he knew that he would die once he looked at the eyes and he would not even die a easy death.

His life would just end here… If he were to die, what about Xue-er? What about Xiao RouRou? Who would protect the Ye Family who gave me my identity? Who would find my parents? How would I ever find out who I really am?

'Am I to regret? Regret having entered this place?'

This world had so many inconsistencies, even if one had great wisdom, if any small change were to happen it could easily take one’s life. For instance the change in the element of darkness here… Even if one had a very high level of intelligence, they would still be unable to predict things that had never happened before.

If he had sufficient strength, how could he have been compelled by Tao BaiBai to enter this place? Strength, that’s right, he needed strength, to protect himself, to protect his loved ones. Wisdom was clearly not enough.

Those eyes…

So pitch-black that it did not contain any space for brightness. He was still able to see everything clearly in his line of sight.

This was the first level of the Devil’s Trap Pagoda. The topmost level was similarly an ash-grayish color because of the death and darkness elements. Straight from the top, a long chain hung attached to a golden lock, its golden chains wound around… a person. The golden chain wound tightly around the body like a cocoon from top to bottom. The only part that was exposed was just a pair of pitch-black eyes from the small gap in the golden chain.

Without a doubt, this was the Devil Locking Chain. The chains were wound very tightly, so tight one could see the delicate body of the imprisoned woman. But this was not what Ye Wuchen was concerned about, what he was thinking right now was how he was to save his life.

The reason she could use her eyes to kill people was because of her terrible spiritual powers, different from Ye Wuchen’s weak power of prediction. The spiritual power of the Cursed Woman was of the purest offensive type of spiritual power, which had the means of spiritual control over the victim’s body, causing the victim’s limbs to move according to her will, even to make the body explode.

And this outstandingly strong spiritual power apparently must be released through her eyes that needed to come into contact with the opponent’s eyes to perform the invasion. Perhaps only the God-Level Masters throughout the Heavenly Star Continent would be able to resist such terrible powers. The most effective method to resist this spiritual power was naturally to make use of spiritual power to defend or launch a counter attack, but Ye Wuchen’s spiritual could not be compared to that of the Cursed Woman. The difference was like the brightness of a grain of rice  compared to the splendor of the sun and moon.

The dark eyes flickered with a cruel black ray and Ye Wuchen’s whole body trembled with a sharp pain coming from inside his chest.

He used his utmost effort to make use of his weak and immature spiritual powers to attempt resistance, but just like a grain of sand against violent winds, before he could even try, his spiritual power had already been dispersed. His weak spiritual powers had been actually used just once, to make a hint in the mind of the delicate Hua Shuirou, afterwhich he had nearly fainted on the spot. This kind of power was not qualified to fight against the Cursed Woman.

Ye Wuchen gave up and abandoned his resistance. In the presence of absolute strength, any struggle would seem so weak and useless, any crafty plots and machinations would only be helplessly ridiculous. To struggle a little was impossible, let alone moving his body. Little by little he  was being brought towards the abyss of death.

He could no longer hear Nan-er’s panicked shouts, his world was only left with those pitch-black eyes, the shadows of everything else did not concern him.

He was beginning to feel his viscera churn with a slow surge. Then, a little more hurried, before it became a violent rumble, as if they would rupture at any time. This kind of feeling was somewhat similar to the time when a huge power was concealed in his body which created disorder from within. That time, he was saved by Ning Xue, but this time, who would come to his rescue…

A faint gurgling sound started as a small scar on Ye Wuchen’s chest split open. The scar gradually expanded and fresh blood seeped out. A pool of  blood appeared on the white cloth in the chest area but it continued to spread. He drew closer and closer to death.

Upon sniffing the smell of the fresh blood, the black eyes suddenly emitted reddish rays of excitement.

He should be glad—proud even. Based on his power under the spiritual wreckage of the Cursed Woman, he was able to last twenty seconds without dying. When a Heaven-Level master had entered the Devil’s Trap Pagoda, he only persisted for less than ten seconds under the focus of  her eyes. It was all due to the automatic response to protection that Ye Wuchen possessed, that delayed the Cursed Woman’s assault for as long as it had.

'Am I going to die? If I die, how about Xue-er… Even if the Ye Family protected her and were unlikely to abandon her, she would definitely be sad and heart broken…'

He had made a promise to protect her forever, how could he let her suffer for a lifetime?

'Who will rescue me?'

Of course Ye Wuchen’s life should not end like this—or else <> will have lost its main character.

The Cursed Woman’s power had already submerged itself into Ye Wuchen’s body, until it unfortunately came into contact with one of the barriers among the many mysterious powers hidden within Ye Wuchen’s body that only show up during full moons. Suddenly, the barrier woke like an alarmed beast and violently launched a frantic counterattack. Ye Wuchen could clearly feel it, the grand and tremendous power that emitted from his body, which easily destroyed the spiritual power of the Cursed Woman. It followed the originator of the foreign power and flew from Ye Wuchen’s eyes. The power shot straight for the Cursed Woman’s eyes and heavily bombarding the deepest part of her soul.

A loud rumble resounded in her brain and in an instant it, she became pale. Deep within her soul was a firmly engraved figure of Ye Wuchen—this was the power that was hidden in Ye Wuchen.

Just like being woken up from nightmare, Ye Wuchen’s body that had been in a cold sweat fiercely got up from the ground. He heaved out a long sigh to calm his heart. He quickly channeled his remaining powers to restore the wound on his chest and the trauma to his internal organs.

He had not thought that the mysterious power that had almost taken his life in the past would rescue him now. He could faintly feel that the barriers of power had a common source with him, but the source was obviously multiple times stronger. This time, Ye Wuchen had once again starting to recognize its strength. With only just one barrier, the Cursed Woman whom everybody feared, was defeated in one hit and without any furthur resistance.

What kind of power was this… How did it exist inside his body!?

“Waaa….Master, what happened to you?”

“I am all right.” Ye Wuchen calmly opened his eyes. His injuries had almost healed, and the fear inside his heart had completely settled. He does not need to be scared anymore. Those eyes were still staring at his back, but it lacked the chilliness it had once brought him. Now, it was a fervent…

The defeat of the physical body would manifest in injury or death. But if was the spirit that was defeated, she would become an imbecile, or… the one who defeated her would forever be imprinted in deepest the part of her soul, with no way to wipe it out. Throughout her life she would follow him obediently, and regard him as someone more important than herself. This was a kind of complete allegiance of the spirit. It was an allegiance that could never incur betrayal.

Even if Ye Wuchen were to kill her, she would not resist him.

“Master, a while ago, Nan-er could feel a terrible power. Although it was just a split second, even the Southern Empire’s leader could not have release such kind of terrible power. It was really frightening.” Nan-er said, bewildered.

“A power stronger than the Southern Empire?” Ye Wuchen became a bit alarmed.

Judging by the primal chaos of the power that brought great destruction, the Southern and Northern Empires were equivalent to Pangu that existed in ancient times, whose powers were self-evident. His ability to bring chaos and destruction with a snap of the his fingers could destroy the entire Heavenly Star Continent. Nan-er had said that the power she felt a while ago could not be from the Southern Empire.

Based on Nan-er’s character, it is impossible for her to lie. So, what kind of power was that!?

Ye Wuchen only now realized how lucky he had been to have survived the attack of these barriers of power at that time. This explained what happened earlier when these powers “gently” agitated by the Cursed Woman, and leaked just a small portion of these powers. Perhaps the entire thing was enough to make him vanish in a puff of smoke.

These powers entrapped within his body, would they bring him luck or disaster?

For now, they brought both disaster and luck. These powers could snuff out his life at any time, but this time they had saved his life.

Ye Wuchen swayed his head, then turned his body, “Nan-er, let’s go and see this so-called Cursed Woman.”

“Huh? Master!”

“Don’t worry.” Ye Wuchen smiled and shook his head, “She will not hurt me anymore. In addition, fate has given me a very large gift.”

“Come out, Nan-er.”

A golden light sparkled in the space between Ye Wuchen’s brows. The ray flash and in Ye Wuchen’s hand was a huge sword that was entirely golden.

That pair of blood-thirsty and vicious eyes were now gentle and docile; they no longer posed any form of threat to Ye Wuchen.

If he was able to control the Cursed Woman, who had originally required the four gods of the Heavenly Star Continent to bring her under control, she would surely be an extremely sharp, super killer weapon!

Ye Wuchen leaped up, brandished the Sword of the Southern Empire, and slashed the sword in a golden arc to cut through the golden chain that hoisted the Cursed Woman. When the Sword of the Southern Empire came into contact with the Devil Locking Chain it broke off without any difficulty, as if it was not the hardest, and most  indestructible Devil Locking Chain, but rather like a stream of water.

The Devil Locking Chain was not cut by the sharpness of the Southern Empire Sword. Ye Wuchen’s current power could not bring out the true powers of the Southern Empire Sword. But just going by its sharpness, no less than ten swords in the continent were on a par with the Southern Empire Sword. Yet even if those God-Level Masters were to exert all their efforts to use those similarly sharp swords to cut the Devil Locking Chain, they would not be able to cut through it in the slightest.

Ye Wuchen was able to clearly understand the reason the moment he touched the Devil Locking Chain.

It could only be cut by the Southern Empire Sword, simply because the Southern Empire Sword was the only device that could break the Devil Locking Chain that snapped off upon contact. The reason behind it was only known to the Southern Empire.

The Cursed Woman who had been bound firmly by the chain now dropped to floor, quietly lying down on the spot. Inside the Devil Locking Chain, she had been completely wrapped and unable to move. Ye Wuchen lifted up the Southern Empire Sword, and cut away the rest without any worries. He knew that the Cursed Woman Punished was strong; the Southern Empire Sword could only cut the Devil Locking Chain, and not her body.

Wherever the sharp end of the sword touched, the Devil Locking Chain opened like it was melting. The Cursed Woman could finally move and the eyes now emitted the rays of excitement and enthusiasm.

Being tightly bound for twenty years without moving made her body extremely stiff. The chains began to tremble as she used her own strength to remove the obstructions from her rigid body.

Ye Wuchen took back the Southern Empire Sword and retreated a few steps. Looking at the strips of the broken chain, he said in a low voice, “Let me see what this so-called Cursed Woman really looks like.”
